Helen Blair and Ethan Howard sat in the hospital's tea room.

Because Ethan Howard had promised Julie Williams that he would personally escort Helen back to her room, Julie left first, so the two could chat in private.

Helen began by inquiring about his and his mother's condition. She was surprised that she hadn't heard from him despite Taylor Hill telling her that Ethan had returned home earlier in the year.

Ethan chuckled, "The academic exchange conference was postponed due to some issues, and Mr. Wilson was in Africa doing voluntary work during this time. As his assistant, I naturally tagged along. So I didn't return home until this month's academic exchange conference."

He asked about her injuries, and after Helen informed him that she was no longer in serious condition, she asked about James's situation, to which Ethan provided a brief explanation.
