Events Before The First Classes

I finish getting ready and leave the dormitory. The Granger girl needs to get a hobby other than studying.

I'm not much better.

She sees me looking and stands up to approach me. She hands me the book I let her borrow. She's already finished reading it.

"Thanks for letting me borrow it."

I take the book back and look at it for a second. Granger is much more intelligent than I thought. I take my book bag out of the pocket of my robe.

"Engorgio."

With the wave of my wand. I open the bag and place the book inside.

"Reducio."

I close it, place it back in my pocket, and look at the Granger girl. I can see that my ease at using spells intrigues her.

"I'll give you some advice Granger."

She looks me in the eye, waiting.

"The library of Hogwarts has a lot of knowledge, and most of the curriculum is there. Once you've learned everything in the first year, return to me."

It'll be up to her if she finds the right books.

She might not even come back once she gets settled into the library. She lowers her head and gives a challenging grin. She's a competitive one, and that will only benefit her here.

"Where are you going so early in the morning, anyway?"

I look at her sideways and raise a brow. Knowledge is much more valuable when you earn it yourself. Where I'm going is a rumor, and that's it. I've read some obscure books about Hogwarts... I'm interested in a certain room.

I'm not surprised seeing Alexander is near The Room of Requirement. He needs to take the knowledge he has gained and put it into practice. The only way to do that is to use that room.

I'll ensure he gets the proper time he needs to improve. He'll blow through the regular assignments like it's nothing.

So he'll spend a lot of time in The Room of Requirement. It's an odd room. As I continue to watch, he searches. I momentarily take my eyes away from Alex to find something in my office, but that proves a bad idea.

I can't find him now.

That only means one thing, he already figured out how to enter The Room of Requirement. There's an hour or so before classes start, and many are getting up to have breakfast.

I should see how Harry's doing. He's eating with Ronald Weasley. I'm sure they're becoming fast friends. I decide to take a break from watching over the students and stand up from my desk and head over to my balcony.

I know that Tom isn't dead and that many death eaters are still loyal to him. Harry needs to be ready. And Alexander... I must prepare him for the day I might not be here to defend Hogwarts and its students.
