2 School Enrollment (1)

Vice-Director Yang activated his Divine eye and tried to get a sight at Shang Di, but that turned out to be a fatal mistake...

The Divine Eye, an ability all cultivators achieve throughout their journey; the stronger they get, the faster they obtain it. However, its ability was very useful; seeing into the target's soul was an ability that was truly an incredible advantage. Since a cultivator's soul was one of the biggest weak points, one could see the true prowess with the Divine Eye.

'Hmm, why is it so empty ?' Vice-Director Yang thought as he found himself in the soul of Shang Di. Usually, people would have a human-size avatar inside their souls or something similar, but Shang Di was different. The first few seconds, he was confused, but...

'W-What is this pressure..?!' Vice-Director Yang felt something pressing him down, his legs began to shake, and his throat was drying out. His hands were covered in sweat, and his pupils widened. He quickly looked to his back...

'So this is his soul avatar...' Vice-Director Yang mumbled; in front of him, a man was sitting on a mountain of millions if not trillions of feet big. The man, of course, was Shang Di himself; his soul avatar was thousands of meters big.

Vice-Director Yang immediately disabled the Divine Eye, returning he felt dizzy. What he just saw, how could someone like this even exist?

His gaze quickly returned, not daring to glance at Shang Di again. He was just too overpowering.

'Oh, he gave up. Too bad he couldn't see my true soul, even tough he might have died at the sight.' Shang Di let out a little smile as he continued to talk with the other teachers.

"Oh Teacher Shang, have you ever been to the academy?" A woman asked; she was about 5'6 and had brown hair and green eyes. Her body was well-shaped, and her face was pretty as the white moon in a clear night. It was Teacher Qingye

"Ah, I have been here quite often. But it's been a while..." Shang Di replied with an innocent smile.

"Oh really? Then we don't have to show you around, it's really exhausting to show around people around the academy, since it's to vast." another teacher joined the conversation. This time it was a mid 40 man; he was a good 7 foot tall and was taller than the most teacher in the whole room; he had long grey hair and blue eyes. It was Teacher Kui.

"Indeed, I agree, even though I was already often in the academy it still impresses me how fast the entire academy is." Shang Di replied as he remembered how he reacted to the academy the first time he visited it.

---

An old memory of Shang Di...

"Wow, why is it so vast?"

"I don't even know. You know that Lao is obsessed with teaching. So I guess the academy should have a worthy size."

"Sure he doesn't want to compensate something?"

"Haha! Shang Di! You aren't wrong tho!"

---

Back to now...

Shang Di was chatting with a smile with the teachers as they got a bit closer. He met various teachers, and none of them caused trouble or anything. Then, however, Vice-Director Yang didn't show up anymore and simply vanished from the banquet.

After a while...

Shang Di and the other teachers talked with each other, and nothing big happened. Regardless, as the banquet ended, Shang Di was given a spatial key that could open a portal to his room.

As he used the key, he appeared in front of a door beside the door there was a ring on it's written: "Teacher Shang Di."

Entering his room, a little smirk appeared on his face; he looked around. It looked quite luxurious. The room was as big as a whole one family house and had a few bedrooms as bathrooms. So it was quite much space for one person. As he walked around, he also found a little information letter.

*Dear Teacher Shang Please come around 8 a.m; to the Divine Hall, there will be the school enrollment. And with new disciples for each elite class, we will introduce the teachers; since you are new, you, of course, couldn't pick the people selected for the elite classes. But, also, you can pick new disciples for the elite class (they have to be new at the academy) since the dynast permitted you to. We will be standing on the big podium in front of our students and elite students. It's important to make a good impression since we are the pillars of this academy.*

"Ah, I see it's still the old system—common class, Advanced class, Profound class, and at least but not last the elite class.

There are only two ways to get into the elite classes:

Each year at the school enrollment, a few hard-working and talented disciples get selected by the principal and the school committee.

Or

Be talented; every year, the principal can select new disciples directly for the first-year elite class.

Of course, there's still the 3rd option to get into one. But it's not 'fair' since you have to be in a big influential family." Shang Di recalled the old system of the school; he put the latter down and went to his bed and sat down in the lotus position and began to mediate a bit.

---

Swoosh...

In an instant, it was the next day. Shang Di stood up and began to walk toward the Divine Hall. As he arrived he was quite surprised to the hall was almost filled and there wasn't much space left.

'This is going to take a while.'

"Is this a new teacher? He looks so young!"

"He is quite handsome!"

"Have you seen him before?"

All disciples were excited. Thus they made a big fuss over Shang Di.

Shang Di then walked towards the podium and sat beside the other teachers. The teachers greeted him as he greeted them back with a smile.

"Silence." A voice said as a strong Qi filled the hall; an elderly man appeared on the podium.

"First of all, I want to greet all new disciples, and I know all of you are excited, but please keep in mind this is a sacred place. Thus I would like to have a well-mannered school enrollment. However, before we come to this, I want to announce the picks for the second-year elite class!"

"For the first pick we have Disciple Huo from the 2nd year advanced class!"

CLAP CLAP

People began to clap for these disciples since they worked hard; even the new disciples would know that the elite classes were no joke.

"For the second pick, we have disciple Feng from the 2nd year of the advanced class!"

"For the 3rd pick we have disciple Xue from 2nd year of the advanced class!"

...

And so it went on, as the principal finally spoke the words everyone was eager to hear.

"Now to the official school enrollment!"

...
