3 Chapter 3: The Great Black Rooster
Once the big golden ape left he was finally able to take a look inside the little home. Lucca slowly opened the door and walked in, as he did so all the lights inside turned on by themselves. The floor of the house was completely covered by a black rug that looked extremely expensive, it was so thick it felt like the fur of a black beast. The walls and ceilings were white with the furniture in the house being black. The checkerboard color made the insides of the little obsidian home look sleek and very expensive.
Lucca felt like a child at an amusement park as he went around every room and checking out the furniture. There was a total of 5 bedrooms, each with king sized beds and connecting bathrooms. One of them was a master bedroom that completely took over the last floor, it twice the size of the normal rooms and the bathroom connecting to it even had a Jacuzzi installed and the water was actually running! though he had no idea where it was coming from. When he was looking around in the master bathroom and looked through the window he realized that there was a large space on the back with a pool!
There was also a huge kitchen with all the utensils, pots and pans and there was also a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, there were even some machines hes never seen before.
´How many people are able to afford a house like this at 25?!` Lucca though as he felt extremely excited, he reached into his pocket but he realized he no longer had a phone or internet. Lucca frowned but unfortunately there wasn't anything he could do so he decided to focus on another problem that he had right now, there was no food! he had clean water but unfortunately the little obsidian home didn't provide him with food as well.
Lucca brought up the heavenly market one more time and searched for food. There were also had tiers but since it made no difference to him he decided to look at the normal food which were considered tier 0. When it opened up what he saw made him very excited. for 1 HC all the food practically came in a bundle of thousands!
`This could last me for .. ... at least 100 days!´ Lucca wasn't very good at math, he had given up counting once he realized how big the number was. He had taken almost an hour to pick as he scrolled through the list. It had to be something filling and that he wouldn't feel disgusted after eating it every day for a long period of time. Ultimately he decided on rice. He wasn't Asian or anything but the country he used to live also ate rice daily, therefore, he was already used to it. Fortunately, the food that appeared in his inventory came not only prepared but hot as well!
Lucca filled himself with rice and water as he started thinking up of ideas of how to make money.
By the time he finished his meal he had thought up two ways. One was to make a garden in the back of the house by the pool and plant various vegetables and fruits, he could eat part and sell the rest. His other idea was to buy and raise some small animals, maybe rabbits or something. Once they bred he could keep part for meat and also sell the rest.
Looking through the list he found there was a bag of a random assortment of seeds for 5HC. Though it seemed expensive at first he realized there was also tier 1 seed mixed in as well, if he were able to grow them he could sell them for a lot more than then the normal ones. Lucca bought the seeds and then started looking at farming tools. As he was looking through hoes he noticed a tab on the corner of his eye, farming puppets! The most basic one was worth 3HC but the description said it was only able to handle normal crops so he looked at the more expensive versions. Lucca found one that could handle such crops for 35HC, it looked like an old man wearing a straw hat but the good thing about him was that not only could he handle the plants but he could also work with animals of the same tier! It was made by a company called PuppetFamily which was a little strange but Lucca still grits his teeth and paid for it.
Lastly were the animals. He was first thinking of buying rabbits but ultimately decided on chickens. Lucca loved eggs and chicken meat, he could wait for the eggs to hatch and sell the chicks or if he needed money now he could just straight up sell the eggs.
Looking through the roosters first he suddenly had a great idea.
`Couldn't I get a tier 1 rooster but buy normal chickens and save money?´ He found a tier one rooster for 12HC that was black in color from top to bottom and in the description it mentioned he would pass that coloring onto his children as well which would make them more expensive than the normal tier 1 chicks.
He made his decision and bought the rooster but he decided to set everything up before getting the rest of the chickens. Fortunately there was a big doghouse the size of one of his bedrooms which should be big enough to be turned into a chicken coop. After all his spending he only had 669 coins left but he comforted himself as this was an investment.
Lucca first let out the farmer from his inventory.
``Master´´ the old farmer said after he appeared as he knelt onto floor.
``you can speak?´´ Lucca said surprised.
``yes master but only the basic, enough so i can do my job smoothly´´ He responded.
´´Whats your name?`` Lucca asked.
``Master hasn't given me a name yet therefore I have no name`` The old farmer puppet explained.
``Then you will be called Uncle Ben´´ Lucca said after thinking hard for a long time.
``Yes master´´ The old farmer responded.
Though it was only a puppet Lucca felt a little strange having this old man kneel down to him, but he also felt powerful, he kind of liked this feeling.
´´These are the seeds, you can plant them over there beside the pool. If you need anything all you need to do is ask.´´ Lucca said as he helped the old puppet off the floor and handed him the bag of seeds.
``yes master´´ Uncle Ben said as he grabbed the bag and took a look inside, his eyes shined with a hint of excitement seeing the tier 1 seeds.
``Oh we will also raise some chickens as well, you can use that dog house as the coop.´´ Lucca said as he removed the black rooster from his inventory however, what came out greatly surprised him. There was indeed a black rooster inside of a golden cage that looked exactly like the one he saw on the picture except it was the size of a horse!
The rooster seemed a little confused at first when it appeared but when it spotted Lucca an aggressive glint shined in its eyes as it immediately attacked through a hole of the cage, the holes were just big enough for it to fit its big ass chicken head through.
`I can't dodge!´ the attack of a tier one creature was too fast for a normal human to react in time, all he could do was close his eyes and imagine the mess he would leave once that powerful beak smashed into his body. Lucca suddenly heard a loud *Tweak* but the pain never came.
As he realized he still felt fine Lucca slowly opened his eyes and was met with the black rooster dizzily swaying in the cage with a big bump on the side of his head. Looking to the side he found the old farmer holding a thick wooden stick in his hands.
´where did he get that stick?` Lucca wondered however, before he could ask anything the farmer spoke out.
´´Dont worry master i will quickly get started in educating this unruly beast`` The old man said as he grabbed on the side of the cage and dragged it to the back of the building as the rooster had lost all aggressiveness in his eyes leaving behind only fear of the old man.
Lucca left the old farmer to his work and since it was almost night time he decided to go back into the little home as he looked through the heavenly market to see if he could find a mate for the rooster. Unfortunately after a long period of scrolling through he wasn't able to find a female of the same species and from the picture he realized he couldn't tell the size of the chickens, if he bought a normal one the size of the ones he saw on earth he was pretty sure it would only serve as food for the great black co.. rooster. Lucca had thought of selling it back to the heavenly market but reselling something you bought would lose you at least 10% of the original price so that was immediately off the table.
`I remember seeing people riding on an ostrich on tv, maybe it can be used as a mount?´ Lucca imagined himself riding on the back of the great black rooster and quietly laughed to himself. It now all depended on the old farmer and how well he could tame the beast. Lucca laid down on his bed and decided to get some rest however, he was only able catch a wink of sleep 2 hours later when the loud thuds and the cries of the great cock finally stopped.
`Uncle Ben sure has a lot of stamina` Lucca though as he closed his eyes, a lot had happened today and he felt extremely tired. He had almost died twice and actually died once! As soon as he closed his eyes Lucca quickly entered the land of dreams.
