2 Explode & Escape

As soon as Akalia opened the squeaking door, chaos overtook the whole place. People came rushing out of their rooms, bringing their own bags and entering in an escape tunnel. Seeing this, Akalia instinctively went back into the room to get her bag that was evidently laying down on a wooden chair.

"Police Officers are coming!" A voice reverberated throughout the area, making everyone's adrenaline pumping up as they ran towards different tunnels and covering it before the police will rat them out. All of the escape tunnels were all corked up and Akalia was trapped.

'I should have predicted this kind of event.' she groaned and started to calm her dear nerves. The lights were still on and the atmosphere surrounding Akalia was deathly to the point felt goosebumps on her skin. 'Probably, about a few minutes the police officers will force themselves in.' Akalia thought as she started to clear her mind and made her first move.

The place was small, so it was easy for Akalia to find the kitchen. 'I'm sure Lucas and Zion mentioned flour while discussing about bombs...' she thought as her hands swiftly rummaged through the cabinets to look for a sack of flour. As she found a sack that was labeled with the word 'FLOUR', she hugged it and transported it outside the kitchen.

Akalia dropped it within the living room and grabbed her pocket knife and used it's sharp blade to open the sack. The sound of fabric tearing up was evident and flour particles danced within the air and white powder was aimlessly scattering on the floor. She ran back into the kitchen to find for a bellow placed near the oven. Akalia grabbed it and threw it where the flour was and turned off the lights to loosen up the bulbs hanging around. Using her feet and her hand to cover her nose, she pressed the bellow with her foot and flour spread throughout the air, creating a misty effect.

Akalia went back into the room she stayed in and locked it up, she rubbed her trembling fingers and looked around the place to find for a secret tunnel; unfortunately, there was none. She went back into the living room and slammed her palms against the wall in different directions, until the wall moved backwards and suddenly move sideways. Akalia was glad and clambered into the hole before closing it tightly.

When she felt someone grabbing her wrist, Akalia tried to pull her arm away from the grip. "Wait, it's just me," a familiar voice resounded within the dark and silence. Akalia stopped pulling her arm away and tried to readjust her vision, "I'm glad you weren't caught by the police. For now, we have to escape through the tunnels." the woman said as she ran and pulled Akalia's arm.

"Open the door!" One of the police officers demanded as he knocked on the wooden door. A dozen officers were cautiously standing outside with their guns facing down, the officer who spoke signalled a few of his men to knock the door down. The strongest one kicked the door open and the officers entered the room.

Some coughed after getting flour into their nose and mouth, when one noticed it was too dark to see, he immediately ordered someone, "Someone turn the lights on!"

The escape tunnel leads towards an unknown area of the outskirts, the air wasn't as stale as the one that could be breathed in within the outskirts. There were the sound of cicadas chirping nearby, which couldn't be heard in the city she lived in. Tall trees hovered the place and luscious green grass peeked their way through the untouched soil.

Noticing that there was the sounds of running footsteps approaching within the tunnel, one of the guys within the crowd swiftly pinched his way out, "Janna!" he said with great relief as he hugged the middle-aged woman who just arrived at the scene.

Akalia looked around and felt a bit nervous while looking at the crowd of people who were standing and sitting in different places. The woman who helped Akalia, took her glasses off as soon as she demanded to break free from the tight hug. The middle-aged woman, who was called Janna, took a glance at the young girl awkwardly standing and looked away as she look at the crowd.

Janna clapped her hands together and checked her compass, "We should start heading towards west-" she closed the compass with her two fingers, "-before the gourmet officers will enter the tunnels-"

KABOOM!

The sound of bombs exploding reverberated through the tunnel hole, which made everyone frightened and started panicking. "Did you place bombs in the hideout, Matthew?!" Janna asked as she glared at the boy who was also frightened. He just shooked his head, "I would never do that! You told me to never do that to avoid declaring war with the government and I never knew how to make bombs or where to but them." Matthew replied.

Akalia just looked down nervously, since she knew that she was the one who created the homemade bomb. It was her fault that she had tainted their record with use of bombs. "You!" Janna's stern voice made Akalia's heart palpitate inside her ribcage. "Did you plant the bomb in the hideout?" she asked as she walked near the young girl who sat on the ground.

Akalia just nodded while fiddling with her fingers, "You should have never done that. After their inspection in that place and found out it was our group who lived in that place, we will be part of the list of revolutionary groups who have assaulted to kill a dozen officers. We will be hunted and assassinated." Janna explained as she grabbed Akalia's arm and pulled her up. "Simply running away from your home to get into gourmet city is against the rule."

"H-How did you know?" Akalia stuttered as she moved a few steps back. She never told her about her plan and she already guessed it correctly and accurately.

"Simple." Janna clicked her tongue and sat on the large rock that was just nearby. "Roaming around the drainage system is the best way to escape from any public eyes that could serve as an evidence. Sadly, you were caught through hidden cameras and helped the officials trace back into our organization's hideout through advanced technology." She explained in an impassive way.

But she never blamed herself or Akalia about the situation, Janna knew that this day would come knocking behind closed doors. "The Heaven's Culinarian." Janna muttered and Akalia questionably look at her, "Have you heard about it?" She asked.

Within the Gourmet City, tall buildings that shone elegance and power shimmered as sun rays reflected through the one-way tinted windowpane. There was a man in elegant black tuxedo striding his way through the paved hallways. This man's aura exudes confidence and superiority; with five people following him around, people would already assume he is one of the powerful businessman in the world.

"Sir. About fifty officers were found dead within the drainage system outside Gourmet City." One of his assistants said as she help her clipboard tightly, trying to swallow her fear.

"Make sure you find those rebels." His deep voice reverberated through out the place, which send chills down in each and everyone's spine within the area. His fists tightly clenched together.
