Darkness

While the Patriarchs party slowly meandered back towards the nearly packed up tents. They were laughing and celebrating the fight. Comparing who killed the most and who was most impressive. The remaining people who had not fought were all content and smiling as if their banter had been heard a thousand times before.

Aos slowly trudged as best as she could through the snow towards her father before she quickly tired and simply waited for her father to come to her. Her fur clothing was simply too much for her still young self.

Once Asger, the father of Aos, reached her, he lifted her up into his arms still vibrantly grinning from his battle. Asger caressed her as he began to walk towards Brenna. Asger still somewhat on a rush of adrenaline grabbed Brenna from behind and lovingly kissed her. Brenna impishly retorted, "Come on, not in front of Aos. She is still very young. We don't want her to pick any of your bad ideas...". Leaving Asger smiling he said, "Fine, fine." as he returned Aos to her mother.

Aos who now once again was in her mother's arms plainly hugged her mother and from overexerting herself fell asleep soundly.

In the darkness of her sleep. Aos once again heard what was once a calming archaic language turn sour. The tongue which at once calmed her and soothed her had changed. Although the language was still undecipherable, the feeling of suppressed anger lingered on every word and syllable. It slowly dawned on Aos that the all surrounding darkness that she had been in was ever so slowly fading. The myriad of colours that slowly appeared far off in the distance were shallow and dim.

First was white. Fighting against the darkness it seemed infinitely bright compared to the complete darkness. Then, suddenly there was red. It burned with might unfathomable. Slowly, blue appeared from the darkness, it was calm yet powerful. Lastly was green, unwavering and plentiful.

Before Aos could comprehend what had occurred she jolted awake. Startled and worried she looked around and noticed that she had woken up in her mother's arms. Aos could see the night sky above her. The stars were vibrant and beautiful. The night sky while silent said countless stories.

Aos' previous frantic movements caused her to nearly fall out of her mother's caring arms. Brenna struggled to hold Aos as she briefly noticed that Aos' irises had once again turned golden.

Brenna now even more startled quickly covered Aos' face by pulling Aos' hood back over her head and quickly made way to Asger, who along with several other males were pulling several sleds full of the tribes tents and gear.
