79 Truth Serum

The liquid tasted rather bland, more like water with a trace taste of freshly cut grass than anything else. It rolled down her throat and into her stomach. 

For a few seconds, Daphne waited for the wave of pain to come. She half expected for every inch of her intestines to feel like they were breaking. 

Nothing happened. Even if the potion really was the antidote, she didn't feel anything different. 

"Daphne, that was much easier than I had expected. What if it was actually poison?" 

Wiping away the droplet of liquid from her mouth, Daphne looked Meira in the eye. "It's not like I had a choice even if it was poison. And if you were really unwilling to give me the antidote, I'll eventually be dead anyway. So why not take a gamble?" 

"Princess of Eversun, what's your biggest regret?" 

That question came out of no where, but after a split moment of thought, Daphne answered.
