1 Chapter 1

"The only room available is in the boys dorm" the brunette woman said to Dani as she pushed up her glasses for what seemed like the tenth time, her expression grim like she was tired of the conversation they were having. She looked like she was in her early thirties or so but Dani couldn't deny the fact she still looked gorgeous even though she didn't look very approachable.

Dani felt defeated, based on the options she had now which wasn't even an option she wanted to consider, she still needed to persuade the brunette, "male dorm, isn't that like against the rules for a boy and girl to stay in the same room."

The woman sighed, "look you either take it or you leave it, it's no one fault you didn't apply early for an accomodation" she returned to the screen in front of her typing away furiously and ignoring Dani.

Dani knew she was supposed to apply for an accomodation once she got her acceptance letter but she didn't think she needed to afterall she was on part scholarship. Turned out she was terribly wrong. Feeling jetlagged for her long flight to get here, Dani weighed her non-existing options. She couldn't take an Uber to her uncle's house from here, it was more than an hour drive and that was without traffic nor could she start looking for an apartment now especially since is was the beginning of a new school year, finding an apartment close enough to school would be extremely difficult. She groaned inwardly, she definitely had no choice at all, it was a take it or leave it situation and she sure didn't have the luxury to refuse even it meant being roommates with a boy she had never met before.

"Ok, I'll take it" Dani said in attempt to get the woman's attention back, she glanced at her name tag when she didn't answer, "miss Rita"

"Mrs" Rita corrected her eyes still on the screen"

"Sorry", Dani responded although she wasn't sure if she should be sorry, it was an honest mistake.

Rita paused and pulled out a form from beneath her desk, "fill this although it's not necessary anymore, your roommate can't be changed so it's just for record purpose"

Dani eagerly accepted the form and filled out the necessary details needed before handing it over to her. At the same time her phone rang, she pulled it out to she a text from her mum asking if she was settled yet. Dani turned off the phone, she'll reply later when she was actually settled in.

"Here" Dani looked up just in time to catch the key thrown at her, "your room number is on the key" she handed Dani a map, "and this should help you find your way around"

The smile that graced Rita's face afterwards caught Dani off guard, although it felt sympathetic, it was the closest thing to a non-irritated expression she had on since. Rita leaned in towards Dani, " the least I can do for u is inform you if there is an open space in the girls dorm, hopefully that would be soon"

Giving a tight smile Dani nodded and left her office with her luggage in tow. It took less than five minutes to find the boys dorm thanks to the map she had in hand. The building was huge and better than what she had seen in the pictures. She followed the short stair into the building and was relieved when she spotted and elevator, although she hadn't thought about it she wasn't ready to climb any stairs. She took the elevator to the top floor where she later found out her room was after stopping midway, thankfully someone was kind enough to tell her. She got off immediately only to be given a weird look by the guy who passed her and entered the elevator. She was in boys domain now and the feeling of dread in her stomach refused to leave making the situation even worse. He was probably wondering why there was a girl in their dorm. The closest she had gotten to any boy was in eight grade during seven minutes in heaven with her die hard crush Tristan Bartley, she had tried to kiss him and that turned out to be the worst decision she had ever made in her young life. She shook off the thought and looked around the hallway.

It was different from to the one she saw previously, it had just four doors which was spread out evenly and was definitely more spacious compared to the one downstairs which had at more than ten rooms and unlike the hallway downstairs, there was nobody outside. The only sound she could hear was that of boys playing video games which was obviously loud but was partly blocked by the closed door. She moved towards the second door and found the number she was looking for, 15d.

She knocked on the door about four times and was still met with no answer. It was then she decided to try the handle and found out it was locked. She pulled out her key gently opened the door. Her jaw reached the floor, the room was huge compared to what a dorm is supposed to look like. She abandoned her luggage at the door and went in. The room was spacious enough for even four people and her roommate's side of the room which was well arranged to her surprise, whoever he was, had made sure they were well separated, the huge tv in the room also added a luxious taste to the room. The room even had a personal bathroom. Dani felt dazed, had she just walked into the VIP version of the boys hostel. She was too busy studying her roommate's side of the room that she didn't notice the new presence in the room until he cleared his throat.

Dani, startled from the sudden sound turned to meet the most beautiful green eyes she had ever seen, it was so deep and captivating that it reminded her of summertime, it was gentle yet piercing and intimidating. The green eyes narrowed at her clearly in thought.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Dani" she said taking it as her intiative to start a well civilized conversation with the green eyed boy, first impressions mattered right? "your roommate, new one that is" she tried to put on a confident smile but only felt sheepish. She knew he was a sophomore according to Mrs Rita so could only imagine he had a former roommate.

He forehead wrinkled in thought and Dani couldn't help but admit it made him hotter. She paused, where did that come from.

"That's impossible, you're a girl" he said. Dani frowned, she didn't know why she felt offended, maybe it was the way he said it like he was mortified by the idea. She internally scoffed, they were on the same page except the room was currently winning her heart.

"I know that" Dani replied sarcastically, she didn't know again where her boldness was coming from but she was more concerned with enjoying the room while it lasted.

He ran a hand through his dark brown tousled hair and scowled when he noticed Dani staring at him, he was used to the female attention he got constantly but he didn't think someone would go to the extent of finding a way to get into his room, his private space. He surely underestimated some people although he wasn't sure he remembered this one but he didn't have the time to think about that now. He needed her out of his room and he needed it now.

"Well since you clearly know that, I'm sure you also know that there's no way you can stay here. So you can take your bags and start leaving now. I can feel your desperation from here" He answered back he, expression far from friendly.

Dani was taken aback, rude, what did he mean by desperation? Who did he think he was? Was he trying to insult her? Her frown deepened, this was definitely worse than what she was expecting. She suddenly felt her anger rising and tried to ignore it, she's wasn't going to start on a wrong foot today with her roommate even if it meant being the bigger person.

She sighed, "look I'm as stocked as a you are about this whole thing but I already tried to change this and I failed, you could try. But meanwhile how about both try to be civilized and try to tolerate each other for the mean time" she offered her hand with a wide smile on her face expecting him to take it. But instead he gave her a once over,left the room and slammed the door.

Dani's anger came back.
