25 The creation of Varganian guard 4

The young boy was clearly an heir to important clan. One of the greatest clans in whole Dagger tip and was probably sold into slavery to suffer. He had core formation cultivation in both soul and body branches and also had large shoulders with stern face . With that face everybody that knew old clan chief from Berlund clan would clearly make connection because he looked same as his father with long nose but clear black eyes and small mouth .He used to be as popular as Ivar s younger brother but he disappeared over a year ago . Ivar clearly remembered this because his father turned whole city in order to find him but he could not achieve it.

"Probabbly he was abducted by someone and later used as hostage" Ivar thought "Lets take him. He resembles Marcus but Marcus did not have chance before .Maybe Arn will have it. "

He than pointed to Arn and quartermaster that was in charge of helping Ivar quickly went to Arn and brought him over .

By that time old slave keeper was ready with papers. He was even more pleased when he saw Ivars second pick ."That slave-boy is totally useless .His price should be around 10 gold so i will regain all the money i have lost with previous trade. I thought this young master is smart but it seems that he likes little boys .Well his life his business."

They finally came to the table and signed the contract . Ivar gave old slave master 650 gold and old slave master gave him 2 slaves . All was perfect and slave master was happy. When the time came for them to part ways he just said : " You did us great service , i will give you 10% discount next time you come here " and patted Ivar on the back.

If only he knew how wrong he was ..

Two slaves did not speak .That was another benefit of the slave mark. It would render the ability to speak useless. Earlier at entrance Ivar and Bjorn took each half of the money and went to search for different things. Ivar would search for warriors and Bjorn with search for those with special abilities like rune work, battle strategy ,forging and so on.

Now new party of three were checking out other stands for slaves .Ivar got one experienced archer with high elf . Now he needed a melee attacker , a rogue and and melee defender .For the melee defender he wanted to find a man that can use his shilled and hopefully one from Great eagle empire .He checked every stall but nothing satisfied him .Some were to old others were to to skinny and young and some of them even costed to much .He was finally ready to continue the search when he noticed older man with no arm .He had great tattoo on his left shoulder so he was probably part of legions but when Ivar checked him with his power he was happy so happy that his face started to reveal it .So Ivar quickly sobered up and went to his natural moody look.

The information he received was : "High centurion Maximilian of Preatorian guard, lost arm in the battle currently have cultivation damaged,current cultivation at Nascent realm of the soul , blood reflection of the body."

"Hhaah i trully did struck gold with this "Ivar thought "Now i just need to buy him for cheep price " and went to fat slave owner

"I need to buy tree slaves . Two should be of martial lord cultivation and one should have little lower than that because i do not have enough money only 500 gold. "

Since humans were cheep and plenty in slave market they have their price really really low. When he bought High elf and Arn amount of money that he spent on high elf was considerably larger because high elf was considered to be luxurious good and therefore his price was lot more higher than regular slaves .So for 3 human slaves 500 gold was pretty large some and fat slave owner pointed to three warriors that were best in his stock .

"This one is on peak of Martial lord , he should be strong warrior and loyal guard and that one over there and pointed to woman in the battle armor is his wife .She is as strong as him .They are collectively 550 gold and separably man is 350 and woman is 200 .The third one goes for 400 and he is best warrior that i have.No problems at all " old man showed his prime slaves while he was clearly a bit proud of his " goods".

Ivar checked those three out. First man was clearly the best warrior that old man had but he seemed to have some cultivation problem of old that was bothering him.His wife on another hand was clearly weak,lot weaker than regular Martial lords and had her cultivation gained by some unnatural means like medicine or other so she was not worth even 100 gold .The third man was also good but he still had blood lust in his eyes .Even the slave mark could not deal with his desire to kill so Ivar did not even look at him.

"Husband is fine and it worth the money but wife is not worth even 50 gold so final price for those two should be 400 am i right? "and smirked to the fat owner .

"Oh shit this kid knows about the slaves . I wanted to make some money but i guess i can still sell them on regular price i just need to bargin with a kid for a bit " fat keeper thought and continued with ;"Kid you are sure right about the man but lets not lower the price for the women by whole 150 gold . Lets meet in the middle. Give 500 gold for them and i would give them strait away.

"425 GOLD "Ivar responded"Do you think i am stupid old man?"

"You mentioned earlier that you need another slave , How about i give you another slave of your choosing for 500 gold! Of course slave has to have cultivation a bit lower than these two .But you can take anyone from nascent soul and lower. " old man counter-offered.

"Since i like you , let it be your way.Since you offered that third slave for me for relatively low price i will not be hard on you and i will choose that man with no arm ." and Ivar pointed to the Maximilian.

"Thank you young lord. I will never forget this ! " old man bowed and received Ivars money. His group now doubled in size and had 6 people :5 men and a woman .

He had only 1600 gold more and decided to buy 16 more people. They would all have decent cultivation and be true backbone of new Varganian guards at least for the time ....

Finally with company of 22 he decided to return to his manor. He did not wait for Bjorn because they agreed not to wait for each other . On the way he did not speak to his slaves and just hurried to the new manor .They were greeted by the sound of working boys that were gathering large stones ,lifting wood and than transporting it to new places and so on .It was strange place but place filled with life!

When they were finally in the manor he had altered a bit their dao mark and allowed them to speak .Than he ordered them to swear the same oath as the kids did day before .Clearly startled slaves did not know what to do .Well they could not disobey but still this is the first time they heard of such a thing. A slave master demands oath from the slaves .After they finished with the heavens oath Ivar just teared all the contracts apart . They were not slaves anymore but still served Ivar in a way.

"Im sorry i forced you to do that oath but all of you are stronger then me and im afraid if i teared the contracts earlier i would already be dead . Well our little guard has 1000 children give or take and i need some teachers, warriors and guards to train them and protect them in next few years . You will be basically free to do whatever you want in the manor but you need to train them .I promise i will treat you as my brothers from now on and i will not send you recklessly into the death. Also if any of you gain some injuries you will still be able to stay in the manor no mater what ! See, our manor is still in construction . We just started yesterday to be exact and we still need to do lot of work with housing and renovations but soon this will be decent place to stay in .Also the children that you will be teaching are all orphans so do not be too hard on them they have nothing. What else ?what else ? Oh i plan to make this company of children into the strongest guard of the empire and you will help me with it ! ! Now just go and find some place to help .You will soon feel the spirit .I will join you soon but i need some more time with first six i bought ."

16 guards went to the carpenters and started to help. They were happy with their new lord and especially astonished when he said that he is going to work also .That meant that he considers himself part of the group and not above it .

With only 6 in the room Ivar continued : " You six will be my main force aside from Bjorn.You husband and wife what are your names ?"

The husband asked : "Young master we are Hagbard and Signy but can you explain why us ? We are not special in any way."

"Well from you and your wife i like the love between you two. You went trough hell and stayed in hell together .It must have been tough for you two . For me you are symbols of love these children need and your job will be to teach them that . Next we have high elf. He seems that he does not know our language but when i gave your freedom back to you he did a perfect oath in fluent Northern language .He is clearly faking his ignorance even now ."

High elf just nodded and said " Young master is right i do know your language but aside from that Im useless. "

"Dont test me and do not ever try to lie to me and your brothers again.You have noble blood of high elves i even think that you are some kind of royalty but im not sure about that . Ivar angrily replied .

"Yes you are right i am of noble blood , but i do not want to talk about it right now"

"Good ,for the other two that are left ":Young man is Heir from Belrund clan and he will probably become my deputy leader .Young man s name is Arn ! And for the old man with no hand i will just say that he should be someone from Praetorian guard of Great Eagle empire ".

"Young master is right .I am Maximilian from Great Eagle empire , but i think im useless for young masters plans." Maximilian responded ..
