First Glance.

My mom looked at me with worry when I left to go to my dad's for the year and she kept on telling me "You don't have to do this Alice I love you and did not know you were upset about that, we can talk it over I-"

" Mom listen to me it's not your fault, I want to see dad..... I....I will e-mail you and call you as much as I can, mom I love you and want you happy I can deal with being in Utah for a year plus I need to get some rain, I can't always be in sunny California." she was verry young for having a thirteen year old daughter, she was only twenty-seven years old. Her and my dad ran away with each other eight years ago, it was three days before there wedding they broke up they got in a argument over me and broke up because of it. My mom always tells me" it's not your fault we broke up I promise" even though IT was my fault the argument was over me. We were at the air port and I just got on the plain and decied after talking to my self about it that I would take a nap and get ready to see my dad, I was scared to be in the car with my dad cuz we never had anything to talk about but id wait to think about that. I woke up just before the plain landed. So I just sat there for the rest of the plain ride. My dad was waiting for me out side and when I saw him a hugged him.

" Hi Ja- dad I've missed you" I wasn't aloud to call him Jack to his face.

" Hey Alexandra I-" I cut him off to correct my name.

" Alice" I said as I picked up my bags again for I had dropped them to hug my dad, my mom and I decided to take my winter wardrobe, taking the fact that I lived in California before, a worm and non snowey place - I've never seen snow matter of factly but I soon would. As I got in the car my dad started to talk.

" So alice" he said my name like he just ate a bug " how have you and your mom ben?"

".... Were good how are you?"

" Good, good... " he stoped talking for a minute and then started again, " I got you inroled in a school it's only two miles from the house so you can walk there. your room is still the same aside from the bed, I got a bigger bed " when he said this he looked at me to make sure I was ok with that I guessed.

" That's awesome thanks dad"

" No problem Alice" we were quite the rest of the way to his house and when we got there I got my stuff and went to my room, I loved my room because I had a bey window, the only thing I didn't like about the house was that there was only one bathroom. I started to unpack and then I went down stairs to see my dad on the couch watching football - something I was not a fan of so I just acted like I was watching it untell I asked to make tonight's dinner, I've had my dad's cooking let's just say I'm suprized he is not dead yet. he said he was fine with it so I made some stake and potatos. After I ate dinner I washed the dishes and went to bed I had a very long day and tomorrow was my first day of school so I wanted to get some sleep, it was hard to sleep with the rain but it was also kinda nice to hear it for a change. As I drifted to sleep I kinda got happy for school tomorrow but I was still nervice no dought. when I woke up Jack was already gone to work and I knew the way to school I wasn't to frightend to get there. The First person that talked to me was a guy who had Brown hair he was nice to me but not to others I wanted to know but I was to scared to ask why so I keped my mouth shut. It was time for lunch so we went to go sit with his sister and brother.

" So Alice this is my sister Jade." she was beutiful and so nice she seemed so happy and jumpy like she always was ok with was was going on.

"Caden you two would make a cute couple " I started to blush so I looked down then looked to see Caden starring at me with worry like something wrong was said.

" Are you ok Caden you look like your worred ?" He grabed a piece of hair that was falling out put it back and smiled at me perfectly fine "Alice nothing could make me upset right now."

" Looks like Caden has a crush "

" Shut up John " Caden looked at his brother and seemed mad but smiled at me like he never said anything. " It's almost time for class Alice what do you have?"

" Umm fifth period I have s... science with Mrs. Gates " it was hard to talk to him when he was looking at me he was cute but I didn't want to get any ideas.

" That's what I have I'll take you there. looks like we have a lot of classes together huh? "

" yeah" as we stood up being as clumsy as I was tripped and Caden cot me. " I'm sorry I'm a cults "

" It's fine let's get to class " we walked to class and I went to the teacher to ask where to sit and she told me to sit by a guy with blond hair his name is Braden Howell.

" Your Alice right." it didn't really sound like a question.

" Umm yeah, your the first to call me by name with out me having to correct them everyone else is calling me by my actual name Alexandra . "

" Oh well you like Alice better correct?"

" Um yeah" I was so flusterd and I did not know why did I like him?

" My name is Braden Howell "

" Alice Saylm, I....it's nice to meet you"
