15 My 21st Birthday

The whole day is the most tiring since it's our first anniversary. We all sit down as we close the shop early to celebrate my birthday. Yoongi cooks the fried chickens and fried chicken feet, while Justin and Theodore buy some beer. Then, Jennie and I bake some cakes.

"This day is a success for our first anniversary and I am thankful to have you all guys. If you all are not here to help my business grow, not my business, our business will be having a downfall. We successfully grow this shop as big as it is so thank you for your hard work!" We lift up our glass and cheer with each other.

"And also your birthday! Let's sing for Mia." Justin exclaims as they all sing happy birthday and Yoongi lights up the candle of the cake. After they sing, I lean forward to the cake. 

"Make a wish!" I nod as I close my eyes and make a wish.

'I wish that this end of the year would be great for us and it's now to see my significant other.' I thought to myself before blowing the candle. They all clap.

"I saw how you gave the coffee to Mr. Park for free," Yoongi says teasingly. 

"He's very lonely a while ago so I gave some coffee to cheer him up. He's quite presumptuous but it's fine since it is our first time to talk and I asked him very personally." Jennie snorts as she eats some chicken.

"I don't like his guts. He harassed the fan! How would you talk to him like he doesn't hurt someone?"

"We are just human committing mistakes so don't judge him as you know him, Jennie," Theodore says without looking at her. 

"Why do you know him, Theo?" 

"What if I said yes. Do you have any complaints?" 

"How would you know him? Are you an artist now? Or a fan?" Jennie quickly asks as if she's challenging him while crossing her arms and leaning at the chair. 

"He's my half brother okay?! Happy?! Don't talk like you know everything! He didn't harass his fans! He will never do that." He slammed his hands to the table. 

Then, he drinks his beer and walks away. I wish Justin to follow him and he nods. He stands up and follows him behind. I glance at Jennie, who's terrified at the same time shocked.

"You are crossing beyond the line, Jennie," Yoongi says.

"I didn't know about that and I'm just stating the information from the news." 

"But Jennie we cannot judge someone without any basis. It is clearly someone who wants to ruin his image and also Jennie, you are out of the line." She sighs as she's playing the glass.

"I know. I should probably apologize to him. I'm sorry Mia if I ruin the celebration, especially your birthday." she says while looking down.

"It is okay. You can apologize to Theo tomorrow. Let's clean this up and let us go home. I think those two were not coming back." They nod. 

As we clean the mess, I double-check all the gas and light before locking the main door. Jennie takes her to leave as we walk together back in our apartment building.

"Yoongi, have you fallen in love?" I ask him out of the blue. He rubs his temple as he hums, looking at me. 

"I'll tell you something but don't tell anyone." I nod.

"Do you know Erharth Weld?" He asks. 

"I heard him from the teenage student at the shop but other than that. No, I don't know him." I simply say.

"What?! You are missing out Mia. Erharth is a very talented guy. He rapped in underground rap and he became a famous rapper with Darryl under the big entertainment." I simply shake my head.

Fact about me, I actually just focus more on documentaries, conspiracy theories, and also political issues but when it comes to the music industry, I don't know anything about it. 

"Sorry if I'm useless about that but... How did you know about this Erharth Weld?" 

"Oh, I actually met him once, I performed from underground. And when I met him for the first time. I thought to myself that he is the most beautiful man I've ever seen. Like, he is my ball of sunshine that lights up my dark and lonely heart." I smile awkwardly since it's my first time seeing him like this. 

"You are really in love."

"Yes and I'm gonna meet him tomorrow night! Isn't that exciting?" I nod and give him a smile. 

"It has been a long time since you rap in front of the audience, Yoon. Can you do that again?" He suddenly stops as he glances to the basketball court where some teenager plays basketball. 

"It's been two years since I stopped rapping. Even, my surgery went well, my doctor told me not to use my vocal in a long period of time since my cord hadn't fully recovered. I miss rapping and at the same time producing some music with Justin." He explains as he sits beside me on the ground.

"You can have a day off tomorrow to check your vocal cords if it's fully recovered and you can rap now so you can duet with Erharth." 

"B...but how about my job? You know I am in charge of the lunch menu. I can't leave the kitchen and I have two days straight absent. I can make the check-up after lunch." I pat his shoulder while my lips form a smile. 

"I can take your job tomorrow so you don't have to worry about it. Besides I want you to get some rest and to meet your love interest again." He smiles like a cute cat and hugs me tightly.

"Thank you so much, Mia! I'm really lucky to have you, my best friend, neighbor, and most importantly, my little sister!" 

"I'm your best friend now?" I laugh at him when he nods vigorously as we both stand up and walk back to the apartment building. 

His apartment is on the 2nd floor while mine is on the 3rd floor so I walked him to his apartment. "You all can come with me tomorrow night for the show and be my guest." I nod and walk to my apartment as I excuse myself to him. 

Subsequently, I notice a box in front of my door and walk to see the package clearly. I grab the package and walk inside. I sit on the couch as I place the package on the table. Then, I observe the box and search for the sender yet nothing is found. I slowly open the box and see what's inside. 

My eyes wide as my heart jumps when I see my favorite chocolate and the variegated tulips. After, I grab the note and open it. 

These variegated tulips are as beautiful as your eyes,

Which brightening my hopeless heart

As the red tulips resemble your kind and pure personality 

That every man in this world could get easy fall in love. 

I hope you didn't freak out when I know your favorites. I'm not a stalker as you think. I'm just a person who really admires you for the moment I landed my eyes on you.

My mind pondered to the note. It's my first time having a secret admirer since my past relationship confessed their feelings, promptly. Now, I appreciate it and it makes me special. 

I glance at the letter and smile. 

"Thank you whoever gave this to me. I really appreciate it."
