1 The Guest from the Abyss

…I am sitting here inside this closet with my hand on Jaiden's mouth and my heart pounding faster with every passing eternity, as I see THE nightly figure with its sinister grin going back downstairs, I take a sigh of relief as I try to grasp everything that has happened in these past 15-20 minutes. Me and Jaiden (the boy whom I am currently babysitting) were in the living room minding our own business when out of the blue, the old, shaggy-looking, rusty door of the basement suddenly opened and filled the room with a malevolent aura which was followed by a deep and slow groan and big powerful thuds craving their way out of the dark.

Me being in such a situation for the first time took Jaiden and a baseball bat out of instinct and went upstairs to hide inside the metal closet thinking that there is a burglar or a criminal on loose. The closet has a small hole but it was big enough for me,…for me to see the most dreadful and creepiest part of my life…on the other side, was a nightmare. He or rather 'it' was not human or, at least that's what it looked like to me, a pitch-black figure with sharp teeth embedded into the most sinister grin and illuminating bright white eyes and amidst of all this I saw it…it's two long, thin, inhuman fore limbs each with five long fingers which resembled the blade of a scythe and the only thing that guarded us or separated us from that thing was that thin metal closet door. Now you might be thinking that it is quite an experience to be in these kind of situations…but try thinking and visualizing yourself being in a house with no neighbors near in a radius of a mile, you won't go and say "WHAT'S UP BUDDY " , would you? NO! You won't. You would cry and beg for help until or rather unless you are face to face with that thing, because after that all your brain cells would shut down making you unable to think and all that is left will be a lifeless body with its soul taken by the devil itself.

We waited in the closet for the next five minutes until I called Jaidens' parents and told them everything and they called the police. We went down once the police sirens were right outside the gate. And as in any horror movie no one believed me when I told them the details of th…th…that 'THING', but I don't blame them, bu..but still they started advising me to take rest and even suggested me to visit a doctor, I got frustrated because I knew what I saw and you can't decide what I saw you weren't even there, but I was fully sane and sober when I saw that monster, thus I cried out, "Jaiden u believe me right?"… An awkward and distressing silence told me that Jaiden wasn't there anymore. We went back inside with two of the officers and were a little relieved to see Jaiden standing there but then came out the words from Jaiden's mouth which are till this day imprinted in BOLD in my mind ,''Look the man is back, he is there." As Jaiden pointed towards the dark abyss from which that 'THING' first came, my heart sank and a hungry and demonic howl filled the situation. The howl made the time freeze as a bone shaking chill ran up my spine. One of the officers went up and grabbed Jaiden as we all ran out of that house.

We all turned around and gasped as that hideous messenger of Satan arose from the depths of its' abyss and faced us, now everyone believed me and what I saw, but now wasn't the time to brag about it. That thing started to approach us and as much scared as we were, we all sat in the police squad car and the officer ran the car in full burst. As we approached a safe distance I gathered up courage and looked back to see that sinister grin for the last time or so I thought…it has been 4 years since then and all I can tell you is that the police have kept the whole case on a low profile. I have been called in again and again for questioning on the topic and for identifying local CCTV footages regarding its sightings but all we get at the end is total emptiness. We don't know anything about it, like its origin or what it is; the only thing we can tell about it is that it only attacks kids and those who see it. You want to know why I am so certain about these things so here it is…in the past 4 years there have been cases of kids disappearing near that site and then there bodies are found with deep cuts like that of a scythe and the officers who came to our aid that day,…I don't like to say it but they went missing after the incident without any specific reason and I know for sure that, that 'THING' took them.

I don't mind if you don't believe me but all I can say is that my time is near, my time for the final encounter with that thing and for an eternal slumber is close as the most recent victim of that ruthless monster was a kid named Jaiden sounds familiar doesn't it? It has found us and I am sure it is on its way to greet me and annihilate its lone victim and all I can do right now is to warn you, warn you of that thing, warn u of all the sorrow that might come to you, and that you won't be able to do anything to fight back, all you can do is hide and run but in the end you will find yourself in a deathend with that creature being your hungry host.
