"Trace" Transmutation spell seemed to perfectly copy everything about something, but gave it bad durability and exorbitant mana consumption. however, it was able to copy the magic engravings perfectly

A crown arose from Zakai's hand, identical to the one he traced

feeling a large influx of Mana outside and screaming, Zakai found opened the door to see the unconscious body of the trio of the golden dawn on the floor

"What?" Zakai said, looking towards the man that didn't have his grimoire out

"Disappear." The man said, shooting crystal spikes at Zakai, of which he dodged

"Those stones, I see it now." Zakai felt like the marking on his back could help him identify the man as he looked towards the stones

Zakai couldn't help but remember the stone that the bandit leader had and the power it gave him and he clicked his tongue

"You poor bastard." Zakai said, "What is your name?"

The man stared blankly "Mars."

Zakai could see a string on mana that connected the gems to his brain, boosting the capability. however, the tattoo made him see that it was demonic almost, causing Zakai to click his tongue

Mars didn't say another word as he shot a row of spikes at Mimosa, who was first to get up

"Perish." Zakai made him grimoire absorb the magic as Zakai chanted

"[Fire magic: Hestiac arrows]"

A row of fire magic shot at the man, causing him to swipe his hand up, causing flames to appear and neutralize the fire

"Fire magic, impossible!" Zakai said, looking at the stones implanted in his forehead and sighing

although not unheard of, most cases of scientifically gaining a second element when you don't have the correct magic type or you are not a hybrid cause the person's mental stability to go down, which may be the reason he was so quiet

Zakai could sense strong mana signals, indicating a fight that veronica's group was fighting

"Who are they fighting?" Zakai said

"Lotus."

"Troublesome." Zakai didn't know if veronica's group has the resources necessary to defeat him, but he made a paper aeroplane and scribbled a message on it before looking at mars with a smile

he stared at me blankly, before sending a crystal spike at the paper aeroplane, trying to intercept the message

a wall of paper appeared and blocked the crystal, allowing the Paper aeroplane to fly down the hallway

a strong wing arrow was produced and was ready to be shot when he felt a mana source behind him, causing him to jump up and shoot the arrow in mid-air, which Mars easily blocked

"Battle his head on or..." Zakai smiled, thinking of the new magic he just got

"[Transmutation magic: Transform]"

a simple arrow was shot at Mars, who easily caught it with his hands while his eyes fell on me

"Is this all you got?"

Clicking his fingers, Zakai watched as the simple arrow became a smoke bomb, which then exploded, sending smoke around him

Zakai took the opportunity to get close to him as hundred paper blades shot at mars, each in a different direction so he couldn't scout the direction I was sending them from

mars created an enormous sword with three points and composed entirely of crystal structure and The blade of the sword itself has a very amorphous surface where it is made out of roughly cut crystals that shone in the mana filled cave

Zakai dodged the massive sword that swung horizontally first and then vertically to scout for Zalak's position, who was already far away

Veronica, Luck, Noelle and asta could be seen trapped in a room thick and full of smoke as a man watched them with pity in his eyes

"[Smoke creation magic: Prison of the fallen king]

A whirlpool of smoke surrounded them, blocking their vision

"You won't be able to get away kids." The man smirked, lamenting the carefree attitude that Lotus Whomalt held

the 4 coughed up blood as they felt the suffocation and small poison factor in the smoke factor, causing Noelle to say

"We need to finish this quickly"

The rest agreed as they looked for loopholes to exploit

"Asta!" Luck smiled, picking up his grimoire and shooting countless Lightning balls into the smoke, causing small distortions in the smoke but watching as it returned to its previous state in seconds

They could sense the mana of the man, but it was impossible to accurately hit him while he was in the smoke, which he used to masterfully dodge the magic balls approaching aside him

"Hmm, the lack of magical combat experience is showing." Lotus said, his eyes showing boredom "At this rate, the 4 of you will never be able to hit me-"

A large paralysis stopped the man's body as he felt his shadow being locked into place

a grey-haired boy appeared beside him, slashing him with his large sword

"How-"

The blunt blade didn't cut through him, but slammed him into a wall and knocked his incisions

Seeing the smoke disappear, Veronica clicked her tongue as she looked towards him

"What should be done with him?"

The young boy, luck, was ready for another fight "We should make him our training slave!" He punched out his hand left and right

seeing a paper plane flying towards the group, Veronica grabbed it and read it, nodding

"We should kill him."

Zakai and Mars clashed for the 53rd time as Paper and crystal were put together in an attempt to beat one eachover

"You are all just the same." His eyes showed no emotion, but Zakai watched as sweat beaded down his skin

Zakai could win this battle easily if he used the power on his back, but where is the fun in that?

it seemed like the mark could use the ambient mana in the air and absorb it into his body, making it easier to regenerate mana. although it is probably not as useful in places like outside, where large amounts of mana don't exist, in places like dungeons it could be abused and utilized

but he wanted to see if his strength was able to beat Mars in a 1v1 situation, only using his grimoire

but mars seemed to have powerful crystal magic, which seemed to block all of his attacks while responding with counterattacks

creating some paper and a pen, Zakai wrote down his magic wish list mid-battle while dodging the countless swords been thrown at him

the teammates around him started to wake up, but most of them were out of magic, only becoming a liability

Zakai sighed, creating a paper shuriken and placing an inconspicuous tag on it, which drew Mars suspicion as Zakai threw the shuriken with a smirk

"Weak" Mars said, sending a spike to intercept the shuriken, sending it upwards and behind

whipping out his bow and casting 2 arrows, consisting of a wind arrow and a fire arrow, Zakai's body materialized behind Mars, sending 2 large arrows at the unprepared mars, who didn't expect it

2 wounds appeared in his chest, both fatal

"[Fire magic: Phenoix robe]"

A large coat of fire appeared in Mars wound, the fire moulding into the skin as the wounds were healed, causing Zakai to sigh

"How persistent"

Zakai watched at the man's wounds healed, but the trio behind him finally woke up from there mana deprived coma and looked towards the battle ahead

large swords and paper blades clashed together, explosions resulting around the room

"Your friend is probably dead," Zakai said, shrugging at the man

"I don't care,"

"You will care when the squad arrives, so if I was you I would escape."

Mars looked at me with an empty expression without a trace of fear

"So?" Mars said "I have an army of my own"

Zakai watched as a the high sword that was swinging at him disappear as Mars said

"[Crystal magic: Talos puppet cluster and Nemean Armor]"

"Do you not know when to give up?" Zakai sighed, watching the result of his magic

an armour of crystal spread across his body as mars formed a set of armour consisting of a breastplate, spaulders, gauntlets, and greaves. The armour was composed of crystal that shined in the light and seemed to be made out of sturdy crystals

that wasn't all as hundreds of puppets made out of crystals appeared beside him, rushing towards Zakai

"[Steel magic: Blazing spiral lance]!"

a large metal drill appeared outside Klaus grimoire as he shot it towards Mars, who was rushing towards Zalak

Retreating back, Zakai used Blessed water magic to heal their wounds and partially restore magic, helping them get back in the fight

"You should have retreated while you had the chance" Zalak sighed, feeling the 4 mana signals coming from the passageway behind Mars

"You've been pincered." Zakai said, "What will you do now?"

mars assessed the situation carefully and calmy and said

"I'll do anything for the diamond kindgom," Mars said, no emotion showing on his empty face "And as such, I will retreat for another day." Mars armour disappeared as he ran the same way as Asta's group with full speed

Seeing a figure rush to her with a diamond insignia on his coat, Veronica instantly shot her shadow to paralyze the man, causing asta to try to strike the man, but he was able to break the shadow and run down the slender and long hallway
