[Ch. 5] Don't Mess With the Fourth Young Master

Ryu, being the dense idiot he was, didn't notice Panzram's look of interest. All he could feel was Panzram's sharp eyes peering into his soul. It was a little intimidating to be stared at so intently.

Yet, it felt… Oddly exciting?

Ryu was elated to see Panzram in the cell and he could not bring himself to look away.. Ever since the Gods had shown him the future, he had felt like he had known Panzram his entire night. Ryu also couldn't get him off his mind to the point where he was perhaps even obsessed with the man. He didn't know why he wanted to save Panzram from his cruel fate, but he didn't care enough to think about it deeply.

Ryu was struck with an urge to use his illusionary skills to swoop in and bring Panzram away. But he forced himself to refrain and pulled in his excitement. Tama glanced at Ryu, completely unaware of the latter's feelings.

He just assumed it was the fourth young master being the fourth young master.

He started walking away and Ryu unwillingly forced himself to follow after him, but not before he gave Panzram a haughty beautiful smile.

Panzram watched as they walked away with his interest piqued in a different way. His mind kept replaying that charming smile from such an effeminate man. He thought to himself: Such a beautiful smile….

...I want to ruin it.

After Tama left Ryu, Ryu stood in a corner where he was instructed to stay in order to keep an eye on all the cells. He yawned lazily as he hummed to himself in boredom. Ryu wanted to speak with Panzram more than anything, but he stuffed down this desire so he wouldn't be tempted.

He didn't want to bring any unwanted attention to himself and Panzram. The vision mentioned that Panzram and a certain guard became too close, which was the reason why Panzram's only friend was transferred out of the prison branch. This was what caused him to attempt to escape the prison.

But who exactly was that guard that Panzram would befriend? Was it perhaps the one he had met earlier?

... Unfortunately, the mysterious God didn't show him that.

Ryu only knew he needed to avoid upsetting Panzram at all costs. He wasn't sure who this friend of Panzram's was, so he decided it would be best to keep a low profile in order to watch over Panzram to ensure his safety. After all, Ryu didn't care about involving himself in any relationships. He only wanted to protect Panzram and ensure that Panzram would succeed in wiping out the Taira and the Minamoto clan.

Another worker came to the cellblock door and Ryu unlocked it for him. He pushed in a tray of food. The worker explained to Ryu when he recognized the new face, "Make sure each one gets one."

Then when he looked closer at the face, he frowned. He could recognize the fourth young master of the Taira family anywhere! Only one man could be as flamboyant and overly confident as Ryu was. He sighed as he pushed the other carts past.

He wasn't going to involve himself in this matter.

Ryu grabbed one plate and opened the first cell. As he went to place it on the ground, the prisoner grabbed his hand. His rancid breath made Ryu want to punch him so hard that he would go to the afterlife. He spoke in a low perverted voice, "Hey, pretty lady. Wouldn't you like to spend the night with me?"

Ryu gave him a forced smile, "I am no lady. I am a man. Now please let go."

He chuckled darkly, "I don't care what you are. You look scrumptious enough to eat."

He licked his lips while Ryu gave him a disgusted smile. "I warned you."

The man's vision suddenly descended into darkness. He fell backward and looked around in a panic. Then, he noticed something crawling out of the ground. He thought to himself: Was it some kind of tree growing? No. That was a person!

He screamed as the corpses that were half-decayed, clawed their way toward him. He tried to run but felt a wall against his back. He screamed for mercy as the corpses climbed their way onto him. They scratched at him with their filthy, sharpened black nails.

Their rotten skin strangled his sense of smell.

Ryu saw the prisoner screaming while trying to push off invisible corpses. He chuckled in enjoyment then left the prisoner to his illusion. He went into the next cell and encountered a similar situation. He sighed when he realized he would have to show all of these prisoners that he was not one to mess with.

Panzram heard the wheels and knew this meant it was mealtime. He only got two a day, but he was surprised to see they weren't rotten, only stale. As he waited, he could only hear the small man grab a plate and move to the first cell.

Panzram clicked his tongue as he heard the first prisoner come on to him. He knew this weak guard was about to be attacked. Panzram didn't have an ounce of compassion when he thought this either. He believed it was the small man's fault for coming into such a dark desolate place for work.

But what Panzram heard next, only made him more interested in that small guard.

Instead of the guard's scream, he heard the prisoner scream at the top of his lungs and even start crying. Then, with each prison cell that the guard entered; a similar situation followed. He felt his curiosity increase even more.

Panzram wondered what that guard could be doing. Was he torturing them in some way? Perhaps he has a terrifying torture device or something.

Ryu appeared in Panzram's vision with a cool collective smile on his face. He opened the cell block. He spoke in a low respectful tone, "Panzram."
