[Ch. 37] The Feral Cat's Bears His Claws

A wind blade flew through the air towards Panzram.

Ryu quickly jumped in the way and used his chaos energy to change their position. The wind blade went towards the illusion instead and dissipated into the air, never hitting its intended targets.

Ryu spoke quickly to Panzram, "Your sword can defend against wind attacks. It was made by my family and its strength is much greater than their wind blades."

Panzram gave a nod as he focused on the two now targeting him.

Panzram took on the two mercenaries following Nitta, but he soon discovered they were a lot stronger than the ones he had faced before.

Nitta attacked Ryu as if he were the only one in his eyes and didn't even care about what Panzram was doing. Ryu avoided Nitta's attacks while laughing as if it was all just a game, but he was slowly being driven away from Panzram as a result.

As long as Ryu stopped playing around and took the fight seriously, then Panzram wasn't concerned for Ryu's safety. Thus, Panzram turned his focus to the two mercenaries and noticed that one was a male and the other a female.

Although Panzram didn't like hurting women, this one in particular was cruel in her fighting moves. He had to overlook her gender in order to survive.

While they were fighting, Panzram was surprised to find that his sword could in fact stop the wind blades flying at him.

Even more surprising was that those wind blades were like swords themselves. As such, even the people wielding them had different methods of using them.

Even though the two were completely shrouded in black material, their eyes were shown and shimmering bright white. One of the mercenaries attacked by using her wind blades from the distance.

Panzram was able to block these attacks and charge forward towards the male mercenary.

However, before Panzram could cut him down, the female mercenary charged and began to fight Panzram in close quarters. Wind concentrated along her wrists were sharpened into knives. Each fist she would throw was as if she had a blade protruding from her skin.

Panzram attempted to give more distance between them, but she continued to charge forward unrelentingly. Panzram dodge her swift jabs as he danced around the wind blades sent from the distance.

The two mercenaries worked in a concerted fashion.

Panzram knew he was at a disadvantage against these two and that he had to come up with a way to defeat the both of them at once.

Meanwhile, Ryu was taking on Nitta.

Ryu jumped from building to building, dodging Nitta's attacks. Nitta continued to charge headfirst as he threw his wind blades.

Ryu smiled mockingly at Nitta, "Come on Nitta. I know you can do more than just throw a wind blade."

Nitta glared at him as he kept attacking, "I would spar with you with my wind katana, but someone just had to go and give their katana to someone else!"

Ryu chuckled, "You noticed that?"

Nitta spat back, "How did I not?! You are the infamous white rabbit! No one else would dare put a rabbit on their sheath!"

Ryu smirked, "What is wrong with a white rabbit? You have a Crane on yours. How is a crane better than a rabbit?"

A vein in Nitta's head began to throb, "A crane is majestic and proud! A rabbit only knows how to run away! Just like you are now!"

Ryu giggled at Nitta's increasing anger, "Come on Nitta. I know you love to chase me. You always do. So why are you acting so angry? I am just giving you the opportunity to chase me."

Nitta bellowed after him, "SHUT UP! Why would I like to chase such a flamboyant and irritating man?!"

Ryu continued to jump from roof to roof.

The fire around him was growing rapidly and starting to spread through the town. Soon they were both jumping through flames, avoiding all of the blazing fires. Ryu started to feel bored, so he decided he had to finish this and find his way back to Panzram.

Ryu suddenly jumped down off of the roof and landed on the streets below. Nitta soon followed and began to chase him through the tight alleys engulfed by fire on each side. Nitta realized at once that the oxygen was low.

He could barely control his wind energy as a result.

He stopped in his tracks and realized Ryu must have lured him there on purpose. He tried to use the wind energy, but nothing happened. He used his sleeve to cover his mouth and began coughing as he looked around for Ryu.

Suddenly, Ryu fell from the sky, landing on top of Nitta's shoulders. As Nitta tried to shake him off, Ryu covered his eyes with his hands and whispered in his ear. "I am going to show you something really nice."

Nitta slammed his back against a crumbling building to knock him off.

Ryu jumped off, releasing Nitta from his grip. When Nitta opened his eyes, he saw a voluptuous woman in front of him wearing seductive clothing. On her forehead was the symbol "Seductress".

Nitta blinked in confusion and surprise as she slowly sauntered her way towards him. He backed away quickly. She smiled tauntingly at him, "Aiyaa. Such a cutie. Hey cutie, how about me and you slip away? We can spend a wonderful night together."

She got closer and he took a step back in a panic, "Y-You! Stay away from me!"

She gave him an alluring smile then winked at him, "What's wrong? It's not like I will charge you or anything. I just want to feel you inside me. That's payment enough."

Ryu watched from above as Nitta soon started running away. The seductress, which was only a paper figure to Ryu, followed after him.

The paper figure was leading Nitta unknowingly towards safety where he would not die from smoke inhalation or fire.

Ryu nodded, "Well since he is busy, I will go find Panzram."

Ryu could tell Panzram was safe, but that did not stop his rush to get there.

When Nitta was cornered, he could not even feel that he was in a safe area with adequate oxygen. Due to the illusion, he could only pay attention to the seductress. The seductress's chest was showing, but she noticed this did not elicit enough of a response from Nitta.

She tilted her head, "You don't like this sort of thing?"

He spat back, "Get away, you shameless woman!"

She smirked, "Perhaps you prefer... This?"

The seductress changed shape.

Nitta was not even confused to see Ryu standing in front of him with "seductress" written on his forehead. The illusion was too strong that Nitta did not realize that this Ryu wasn't the real Ryu.

The seductress made an erotic inviting expression and Nitta felt his control start to fail.

The seductress smiled at him alluringly, "I did not know you would prefer me to voluptuous women… I-I…"

The seductress blushed, "I-If it's you… I would not mind…"

As the kimono slipped off one of his shoulders, part of his chest was laid bare. "Ryu" looked away blushing in embarrassment.

Nitta could no longer control his desires as he charged forward to take the man in his arms.
