6 The impudent Request

"Are you even aware of such a request?!"

As Helana felt the heavy pressure coming from the emperor, she hastily kneeled to show her forgiveness for her impudence. Still, she remained silent as she agreed on the angry remark of the emperor.

Facing the ground, she could only continue to wait for his approval.

"Did your father tell you to do this?"

She shook her head. "It is only my selfish request."

The emperor sighs. "Making your father a duke of the empire would mean his resignation to his post in the tower, do you still insist on doing so?"

Helena was very well aware of her request. Making her father a duke would cut his ties to the tower since the tower of Goharith and the Abuneian Empire are two different powers that reside in the Uglor continent to serve the purpose of protecting its land. Unfortunately, even if the tower is closely powerful to the Abuneian Empire, it doesn't change the fact that the tower pledge allegiance to the first emperor way back.

"Yes, your majesty."

"Are you prepared for the consequences? the tower would loath your family, even more so if you attend the academy as a mage." The emperor warns.

"I am aware." She lifts her head. "for the academy, seeing that i couldn't attend today, it doesn't matter."

"I have already informed the academy about your late attendance. You do not need to worry."

All of a sudden, a messenger hurriedly over to the emperor's side, whispering some words that Helena could hear through her heightened senses.

"Your majesty, there's been a slight problem in willow village. We believe the tower has disobeyed your orders." the boy whispers.

Helena's curiosity piqued as it involved the tower. She realized that the crown prince's words were right, the emperor would regard it as bad news as the Willow Village survived the attack.

'Will i be discovered? maybe not, I had a mask on.' she thought.

The emperor's eyes showed displease.

He looks at Helena. "You shall wait upon the confirmation of your request, i will send someone if the council permits so."

Taking that as a sign to leave, Helena took one last bow and left the room.

Since she was left alone to escort herself, she took the time to wander around the palace, feeling a sense of peace as she entered the courtyard of the emperor, she looks at it at awe.

She sat by the bench.

'I never thought political affairs would be this complicated, even way back when I was an archmage, I didn't know about some things that are happening recently. It looks like both the empire and the tower has something to do with my family's death.' She thought.

"It feels nice to see such a scenery." she smiles to herself.

All of a sudden, he felt a sudden surge of mana on the west. She quickly gets up as she recognized the remnants of mana that got carried by the wind.

William, the first knight.

As she arrived close to him, she saw that he was on the barracks of the Imperial Knights, standing with his cursed beasts protecting him with a mass number of knights surrounded him.

'Damn, why did he appear in the barracks of all places? Thankfully the knights isn't that powerful yet since the positions of the four knights haven't been established yet' she thought.

"Stand down!" One of the knights says. "What is your purpose for ambushing the barracks?!"

William, the first knight was feeling pressured by the number of knights that surrounded him. Even his beasts started to step back from the various mana that the knights aimed towards him. "I didn't mean to.. i was looking for someone!"

Helena, upon realizing that he might be looking for her, immediately turns up her disguise, and teleports beside him.

The knights being shocked to the sudden appearance of a red magician with a mask.

"We did not come here for any disturbance," Helena said towards the Imperial knights.

"T-That's!" One of the knights steps forward. "The red magician that was spotted in Willow Village! The villagers kept addressing him that! a red cape and a mask!"

Helena didn't realize that the rumors would spread quickly like fire even if only a few days has passed. She quickly subdues the cursed beasts that were with William's side, assuring him that he didn't need to summon it.

"You." William said. "who are you?"

"Disturbance?" The head of the knights glared at her. "You barged in without authorization, more so you are already a branded criminal by the empire, it is only right to capture both of you for investigation."

Even before the knights could take action, Helena used her unique mana to showcase her pure mana by wielding her one hand. In an instant, she was able to build a solid layer of magic that contained the four elements, blasting away the knights that stood too close to them.

"This solid layer of magic should serve as a warning to not mess with me." Then she uses that time to teleport quickly into the carriage with William.

As William watched how she turned into an adult to a mere child made his jaw drop.

"You're a kid?!" William exclaims.

"Shut up you little rascal, because of you I had to handle such unnecessary actions." Helena sighs. She peeks out the window and signaled the coachman.

"We should depart immediately."

"But- what?! how did your lady get on the carriage? i didn't notice." He asked confused. "Moreover, the boy you had me protect ran away."

"Leave him." She says before closing the curtains.

"Why do we have to ride a carriage? you could clearly teleport everywhere." William arrogantly asks.

"Listen here you little punk." She says annoyed. "What you saw should forever be sealed in those lips. I never intended to show you my real form but since you caused such an incident, then you had no choice but to be the henchman of the red magician. I'm currently a young lady from the house of Enilde since they saw your face, we could no longer stay side by side in the meantime. I would send you to a nearby residence beside the magical academy."

Even before William could protest, she waves her hand to teleport him away.

"Finally some peace." Helena grunts.
