A Shocking Change

Amidst the glaring lights and the warm applause, Trish, who completed the hosting of her first charity reception and speech as a politician walked down from the podium, felt as though she was walking on cotton. Smiling, she continued to wave at her supporters and did not show signs of relaxation upon the completion of her speech. Instead, she unconsciously went in a daze again.

It was only until two familiar figures vaguely appeared in front of her from afar, hugged her and whispered in her ear, "My dear, what's wrong with you?" that she finally snapped back to reality in an instant. After a moment of bafflement, she smiled wryly and said in a weak voice, "Sisters, it's good that you two are here."

"What's wrong, Trish?" Upon hearing the weak and wilting tone in their best friend's voice, Tina and Sheila asked anxiously again.
