Eastern Border: Luna Ming

Sweat dripping from her chin. Catching her breath, she stretched out her bow and threw five arrows in a row.

She's losing her strength soon. Her arrows are now limited; they are made from her very own energy. If this continues to go on, she'll drain every drop of her power, and it takes a couple of days to regain her strength again.

Princess Luna Ming has been holding the border for three days now... Just after her brother, General Leonard Ming, leaves from his usual rounds. The neighboring continent makes their surprise attack.

Since her brother stands as the Chief General of the Great Kingdom, the responsibility falls on her shoulder to protect the Eastern Land. As the second child of the Ming Family, she stands beside her brother for 18 years, covering the throne.

She already lost a few lives and has many casualties. If this continues, she will lose more.

"Milady! The enemy has crossed the river!" her messenger reported. He kneels in front of her after he descended from his winged beast.

"What we gonna do now, Princess Luna?" Kier asked one of her strongest knights.

She stayed silent for a long moment, then glanced at the entrance of the City.

"Call the front line to retreat and join us here! We will hold them from here together!" she commanded.

Her messenger immediately flew, ride with his winged beast. Not long ago, the front-line mercenaries joined them and were in position ready.

"Winged Beast Riders!" Announced by the watchman pointing above.

They looked up in the sky and saw hundreds of winged beasts flying straight to them.

"Archers!" Luna cries out.

"Archers forward!" Bob shouted, the archer captain.

The archers quickly got to their positions and waited for the command. It is still too far away from them.

However, they have long-range crossbows. The knights bring forth the machine and position them, pointing them upward into the sky to aim at their enemy.

Bob turns and glances at the Princess... Luna nodded, then he gave the command, "Release them!"

Hundreds of arrows fly straight to the winged beast riders. Unfortunately, they have a shaman with them that created barrier protection.

The riders prepare to fire their arrows. However, they also have a shaman on their side.

"We must find the shaman and shot him out," Kier suggested.

"You are right," Luna agreed. She glances at one of her shamans and nods at him.

The shaman steps back and creates a particular magic circle. He will try to locate the shaman from the enemy, taking him for a while.

"I can't believe they grow this strong," he commented. "No wonder they were silent for years... looks like they advanced their spell."

"And you were going to yield on that?" Marie teases the shaman.

His lips twitched upward, "I didn't spend my free time to get defeated today."

That is true. When the neighboring kingdom became silent for years, the shamans did not stop studying advanced magic and spent their time practicing.

The shaman climbed to the next stage of his magic; in this way, he could be determined which is which and who's who...

"Princess!" he shouted.

Luna is just on standby, preparing to fire her magic arrows. This time, she gathers half of her energy to creates a hand with a bomb-like effect.

The shaman entered her consciousness. Her eyes turn green. Now she could visualize their enemies. All she needs to do is fire her arrow, then the shaman will refix their barrier, and that's what she aims for... when the shaman gets distracted, it's her opportunity to shot him down.

Luna breathes. She positions herself to shot three long arrows, and they are glowing. She stretched her bow with all her strength then released the arrows.

The explosion was seen. She successfully makes a small crack just above the shaman. After she released three arrows, she already prepared one. Directly fired straight to the shaman's heart.

No one saw it coming.

"I have no tolerance of evil." Luna mumbles.

The shaman falls from his winged beast. The barrier is gone, so another set of long-range arrows fired from the crossbows followed by the archer's arrows.

The sky suddenly becomes dark. The archers' arrows hit the long-range hands buried into the winged beasts and each rider. They successfully defeated the winged beast riders.

However, it is not yet the time to call a victory... the real battle will begin. Their enemy has reached the south entrance of the City.

Rest. Is the last word for them to imagine.

"Prepare for close combat!" Kier yield.

Everyone in position. Archers prepare their bows and the knights in place for defense.

"Guide us, oh, great guardians." Luna prayed.

"Genbu," she closed her eyes and whispered into the air... she clenched her left hand and tightly held her bow.

"Guide us..."
