Ch. 17 firebird

"We are riding in here?" he asked looking at the two giant roc standing in the plaza. The roc is so big, it can accommodate two hundred people and you can still lay down on your designated corner.

"Yes. Don't worry it is safe." Cheng Li encourages knowing that the little one is slightly cowardly person.

"You're coming with me right?"

"Yes, but just until we enter the sect. We have different division but don't worry I'll visit you always." before holding the little one in his arm, using his wind affinity, the fly and safely perch in one of the seats. Still holding Ling Xi on his arm.

All of them are minding their own business, talking to their friends and some are even lying down in their seat. They are all waiting for the take off.

"Slut" a familiar voice spat out. Great, the fantastic miss Bai again. Ling Xi closes his eyes pretending that he is sleeping to avoid making a scene again.

Cheng Li open his eyes when he heard that, a plain looking girl wearing a pink robe is standing in front of their seat. She is clearly talking about this little one.

"Scram!" a cold voice spit out, full of venom and rage, even Ling Xi which is currently laying on the person's chest involuntary flinch when he heard that.

Miss Bai face became paler and paler in seconds. Hearing him say that make her feel so afraid. The air around them grew heavier making her lightheaded. The man is clearly in the warrior division with a strong cultivation level.

"Great god." Ling Xi broke the silence, pulling Cheng Li arms making him look at him.

"How many hours do we have to travel before arriving?" Ling Xi asks. The heavy air make him suffocate, This miss Bai is really fantastic making the great god angry.

"The travel would take for a day." Cheng Li answers completely disregarding the person on his front, the air became lighter again making Ling Xi and the people close by take a deep breath in. This is his first time seeing Cheng Li really angry.

"Great god, can you lend me your shoulder for me? I want to sleep." Cheng Li nodded before gathering him into his arms. 'This is much more comfortable than his shoulder.'

Cheng Li down to the person still sleeping on his arm. The sect is now on sight. After travelling for almost a day they have arrived safe and sound. Shaking Ling Xi awakes when they land in an open space beside the outer and inner gate. All of them are considered outer disciplines unless they are chosen by a master.

"Welcome to the xianhai sect!" a booming voice shout out.

"The alchemy division on the right, the warrior on the left." he instructed before looking at the people sitting on his back. They must be the elders and masters.

"Some of you would be chosen as an inner disciples according to your talents, affinities and capabilities. And for those that are not chosen you have to strive hard, one year from now those who can breakthrough to level two alchemists if you are from the alchemy division and for the warrior division a qi condensation stage, you would become an inner disciples."

"Now let us start the selection for the alchemy division. The token they give you, if it has red color please step out." some step out and they are quickly chosen.

"The holder of the orange token, step out." just three person step out including Miss Bai. They again are quickly chosen as an inner disciples.

"And finally, those who have green tokens, the staff will guide you to your new accommodation." before dismissing all except him standing pitifully alone, all eyes were on him when a voice shouts

"I want him! He would become my disciples." a man still far away from them hurriedly shout out causing the surroundings to go silent.

When the man comes, all the people sitting stand up and slightly bow their head as a greeting.

"Grandmaster Ran" they all greeted.

"You, little boy, admit me as your master." he says in a haughty voice before looking at him like he is an insignificant ant.

Ling Xi flinches, the man is emitting dangerous aura making him involuntarily shudders before stepping backwards. His goal is to Cheng Li sides.

"What? You don't want to, you have guts." before unleashing his oppressive aura, he resisted it for a minute before he can feel his knees buckling down, his face now full of sweat.

Ling Xi can now feel that his knees don't have any strength left, he mentally prepared himself to kneel at the front of this unreasonable man when a hand pull him up and steady him by putting a hand thought his waist.

"Kneeling is considered as a sign of surrender, if you kneel to someone they will now have the power to make you do as they say, Never kneel to anyone." A cold and harsh voice whispers to his ears.

Cheng Li is furious. A scowl can be seen on his masked face, standing beside the man looking at his eyes defiantly. The man just arch his eyebrows before he unleashes all his soul force.

Cheng Li's face became sweaty, he feels like he is running while carrying two mountains on his two shoulders. Minute by minute he can feel his knees buckling making him grit his teeth, Ling Xi is still in his arms pass out when the man unleashed his full soul force to them.

He channels his thoughts on breaking the seal of his true cultivation. He would never kneel. He would just break out in here and go to the devil's sect, make a new identity for them.

"Grandmasters Ran, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill them?" A woman's voice broke the silence.

"Grandmaster Xi" he says before laughing.

"This kid is strong, Grandmaster Xi you should choose him." gesturing to Cheng Li gritting his teeth holding a pass out body.

"Retrieve your soul force before you kill them, you are trying to be unreasonable again. A kneel is considered as servitude" Grandmaster Xi commented, clearly not happy about Grandmaster Ran is doing. After hearing her voice laced with a threat Grandmaster Ran retrieved his soul force, he knows that he can't win with the Grandmaster of the warrior division.

A loud boom broke out, Cheng Li broke the last of the seal when Grandmaster retrieve his soul force, he quickly suppress his cultivation again but raise his level into two stages.

"Impressive, he breakthroughs and raising his cultivation from second qi condensation stage to fourth qi condensation one." Grandmaster mutters looking at Cheng Li in a new light.

"He is a firebird." Grandmaster Xi says before smiling softly looking at the two retreating at the back. Probably to revive the pass out one.

"He would burn you if you threaten his mate and trust me, it would hurt so bad." Grandmaster Xi tells him before departing, instructing his attendant to invite Cheng Li in, choosing him as her disciples.
