1 Chapter 1: Where are You?

"Where is she? If you can't find her, you better find another job!" Ethan roared at his men when he received the reports that they cannot find Stacy. It's been three days now but they can't locate her whereabouts. His office was in a mess; papers were scattered everywhere. No one dared to speak up, not even his secretary. Everyone in the room was terrified. No one dared to look at their CEO's eyes. They knew that a word could cost them their jobs.

Three days ago, Ethan ordered a thorough search for Stacy since she's been missing for four days now.

Four days ago, Stacy spoke with Ethan about wanting a divorce. Ethan was surprised. Although Ethan didn't show it much, he doesn't want to lose Stacy. No, not yet, not even now. Ethan objected, and that's why Stacy left his office furiously. They've been married for 4 years now and they have a son name Eli who just turned 5 years old last month.

"If you can't deliver your daughter to me tomorrow, forget about my investments in your company! And I will make sure to sue you for defying our contract agreement!" Ethan furiously threw his phone after talking to his father-in-law. He called Stacy's father, assuming that he knew where his daughter is since there was a report that they met the day before she disappeared.

"Damn!" Ethan looks extremely disturbed. Even if their marriage was just a part of a contract deal, he treated Stacy a little special knowing that she was the little girl who saved him from drowning when he was in the orphanage. His father-in-law said that Stacy suffered from mild amnesia when she fell from a tall tree while playing with the other kids in the orphanage. That's why most of the time, she couldn't remember some things about her childhood. All she got was a solo picture of her with a book in her hand while leaning on a tree. Of course Ethan remembers her very well. She was his very best friend. He cared for her even when Stacy have forgotten about him.

Ethan drove his black Bugatti on his way home. It's already past seven in the evening and Eli was surely waiting for his return. He didn't know how to tell Eli about his mother's sudden disappearance. What Eli knew was that his mother was in a business trip so it will take some days or possibly weeks for her to come back home. Eli seemed to understand.

"Good evening, Mr. Ethan. Eli is already in his room. He fell asleep while waiting for you." It was butler Jaime who served them for almost half of his lifetime.

"Thanks, Jaime. I'll go see him now." Butler Jaime saw how tired Ethan was. The dark circles in Ethan's eyes were visible as a result of his sleepless night searching for Stacy.

"You should also give yourself a break, Sir Ethan. I believe you'll find Miss Stacy sooner or later."

"Thank you, Jaime. I'll go first then."

Ethan laid on his king sized bed after he visited Eli in his room. He tried to sleep but seems like sleep left him too. Suddenly, the house phone rang.

"Did you find anything?" he answered.

 "Sir, I got some reports just now. It's your wife Stacy." The man on the other line reported.

"Send them to me this instant!"

"Yes, Sir!"

After a minute, Ethan received the pictures that were faxed to him. It was Stacy with a man. He couldn't recognize the man because his back was blocking the camera. But one could see Stacy smiling seductively. Ethan laughed like a madman.

"So you're still into your old business after all huh… Let's see. I won't play dumb anymore. You want divorce? I'll give you what you want!" Ethan leered. "You've grown up to be another person. You're not the same child anymore." Ethan got lost in his thoughts.

This was not the first time Stacy did something like this. She was in the spotlight three years ago because of the widespread gossip that she was dating the son of an ex-military captain. Stacy denied it when Ethan confronted her. Since it was the first time, he didn't push it further. But another news sprung out about him dating a famous celebrity. She was even ridiculed by most people when they learnt that she was infertile. To avoid more topics about her barrenness, they agreed to have a surrogate mother. That's how Young master Eli entered the picture.

"Attorney, I need you to prepare all documents regarding the contracts that we had with the Hertiz. Make sure to include all the penalties as well. I want it done as soon as possible." Ethan dropped the call as soon as he received a confirmation from his lawyer. This time he will make sure that the Hertiz will suffer a great loss for what their daughter had done to him. It's payback time.
