28 i am not

ALL OF THE TEARS AUBREY HAS FOUGHT OFF since she was a child, all comes out now in this overwhelming moment.

"I have been trying to get away from him but he keeps following me."

Her movements are slow and weak but she manages to point at Connor, who stands majestically and unbothered. Tears fill her eyes from the feeling of safety and hope after seeing the police.

The male officer who previously had his gun on Aubrey, swiftly turns around to aim at Connor. The other female officer has her badge in her hands as she tries to reassure the citizens and keep them in safety. The last female officer stands behind Aubrey, making sure she does not have any ulterior motives that can hurt Australian citizens.

"Ma'am, this man has been chasing you around all day. Is that right?"

Aubrey hears the soothing, mature Australian accent and never has she been so happy to have an adult by her side. Her tears start to stop and she slowly regains full control of her emotions.

She looks to the policewoman's hand to find her with cuffs. Aubrey abruptly gets up to her feet -startling the lady- and places both hands behind her, angling it towards her. "Arrest me, I have nowhere to go. I will go anywhere as far as you take me away from him." Aubrey pants so hard to the extent that strands of hair which has fallen down her face move with its force.

The policewoman does not question her decision but simply cuffs her. She can see how shaky the young lady is, so if she wants to be taken away from her abductor, it is her job to do so.

"Sir, your hands up." The simple command soon comes to Aubrey's attention and she drags her eyes back to Connor and the police officer.

At this point, they have been secluded from the passengers. They all stand at the center of the station, watching the tall, calm man stand soullessly with his eyes on Aubrey.

Aubrey shifts uncomfortably on her feet with Connor's serious gaze directed at her. If he really stopped the car she was in without even touching it, he could do anything right at the moment.

"Take me away, I don't like the way he is staring." She whispers in fear to the policewoman standing captive.

"Okay." The woman raises her head up to nod.

In her eyes, this is a case of kidnapping. The hostage has tried to escape but the kidnapper won't let her go. Unfortunately, it is more than that.

"Let us go." The woman begins pulling Aubrey away from the scene but Connor will always have his way.

"Did you really think these mortals would save you?" Connor's eyes follow her as she walks with the officer.

"Sir, if you don't surrender now, I'm going to have to use force." The man yells, trying to be careful in respecting human rights but Connor is not a human.

"They cannot save you." With those sour words out of Connor's mouth, everything stops.

Time stops.

And it appears like everything else is a statue.

Her eyes grow as wide as saucers seeing how the citizens stay still; paused in their movements like someone hits the stop button in life. She gets shaken by this imagery and a gasp leaves her lips, but instead she sees clear white smoke puff out. Her heart beats faster feeling how familiar the scene is; she has seen this occurrence in the movies and books Brady has and it symbolizes that a spiritual presence is nearby.

She shifts on her feet, her hands fumbling round the cuffs. She has really entangled herself with the gods? What will her next move be?

She turns her shaky eyes to Connor, who has been standing calm with his eyes watching her every move. "Did you do this?"

Behind Connor, she can see the policewoman paused with her mouth open as veins pop out her head. She feels numb, not knowing if to be amazed to see time stop or be scared that he can stop time.

He does not reply, wanting her to answer the question herself. With his grey eyes on her, he brings his hand up into her view.

At the snap of his fingers, Aubrey finds herself standing at the shoreline of the ocean. A piercing scream leaves her lips as she runs backwards, trying to get away from the freezing cold waters.

She hits something hard, unexpectedly molding into the body but she pushes herself off.

She turns her head, her hair moving wildly from the wind. Her eyes settle on Connor as he stares back at her, his hands on her shoulder, preventing her from moving further away from the ocean.

"What is this?" Aubrey tears up again. "I just want to go, take me home please."

"You are home."

With that, he leaves her and walks to stand beside her. Aubrey cannot seem to get her eyes off him as the real possibility of him being a god makes her frightened.

"You seemed terrified. I thought you loved the ocean?" He questions, his eyes fixed on the waves.

Aubrey tries to move her hands but the cuffs won't let her, "How can you do this? Was I drugged? am I hallucinating?"

Connor slowly turns his full body to her, gazing hard at her with his arms folded. He seems offended by her obnoxious questions.

The wind starts to get stronger, blowing her hair about, soon she starts to get cold as she is under-dressed. It only sets the reality that she cannot possibly be hallucinating this. She silently wonders if he made the wind blow harder to answer the question.

"What do I have to do to make you accept all this?" Connor sighs, lightly shaking his head. He looks back to the ocean. "Freeze."

Aubrey's eyes pop out as she sees the ocean start to freeze up little by little and soon it is completely frozen up. She is forced to move closer to it, to make sure she isn't imagining it all.

"How…" She trails, being lost for words. "Why did you do that?"

"I needed something to show that this is real."

She turns her head to meet Connor's eyes.

"I am a deity. We come from a lost and forgotten lineage of gods. We were banished from Mount Olympus more than centuries ago, thrown out to be forgotten and we have stayed that way; unknown to human beings and memories that we ever existed are now myths and mere legends."
