The Discovery Of A Strange Plague
"W-What is this?!" a researcher loudly exclaimed as it caught the attention of his fellow researchers. They immediately came over to his side as they saw something that looks like a triangular prism, others felt a greatly concentrated deathly aura surrounding it and as they looked on, they gazed at the hands of the researcher who found it, the researcher found it strange and was about to ask "What is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" but before he could even say anything a fellow researcher interrupted him with a gasp and said as he stuttered "Y-y-your hand s-sir it-it turned bl-black a little.". The researcher found it strange and looked at his hand, a look of disbelief and astonishment could be seen on his face "Ah!", he discovered that he could no longer control it and as if it had its own conscience, moved a little. This movement was small but the researcher who had the black hand panicked and seemed to be feeling pain as he had a pained expression on his face. One of his fellow researchers stuterringly said "S-sir, you seem t-to have contracted a d-disease or something from that strange object you discovered" then another one said "Sir, I suggest you go back and bring that hand to the Great Alchemist maybe he will be able to do something about it, some of us will escort you while some will be left behind to investigate that object." The reseacher that had the black hand panicked when he heard what his comrades said and immediately told them to escort him out of this place and bring him to the Great Alchemist for him to be treated.
A few hours before the incident happened...
"Are you guys prepared for this expedition to begin?" The researcher who contracted the disease loudly said, "We may take a few losses on this expedition so you guys better be prepared for any casualties to happen and if somebody may die, we people of the Royal Researchers Regiment will compensate them with atleast 30,000 (AN at the end of the chapter(Author's Note)) if the expedition turns out unsuccessful and if it is successful it would be 500,000 () we also invited the famous Faramis The Great Alchemist here who said he was very interested in the ruins and says that hopefully we won't dissapoint him in this expedition, and if our gains are good we can split up the loot equally since according to the kingdom's knowledge the ruins remain untouched to this day and there may be a few treasures there, and we could atleast each gain 500,000 () if the expedition is successful.". At first the expressions that one could see on the other researchers were rather depressed but after they heard the last part they were suddenly cheering happily. After seeing the crowd of soldiers and researchers rejoicing, he then calmly shouted "If you all are okay with it then let the expedition begin!". The surrounding soldiers and researchers then proceeded towards the ruins of an ancient kingdom's capital city, even before anyone had entered it they could already feel a deep, sinister, and evil aura surrounding the city, the crowd was alarmed after sensing it and immediately went into formation, the formation would look very intimidating if one was watching it from a distance, the formation was a classic circle formation where the soldiers would surround the researchers and protect them from all possible sides while the researchers would attack enemies from afar with their unique magic. As the team went deeper and deeper in the ruins they could also feel the sinister and evil aura becoming more and more concentrated. The researchers found this strange because they never encountered a single monster, but suddenly the concentrated evil energy then formed a few humanoid figures, the researchers looked again and realized that the creature's figure looked the same as the figure of The Great Ancient Evil, Helcurt.
