9 Chapter 9

***(we continue)***

It's been about half an hour since Eliot was kidnapped by the Soul Leech. Seryoja and Angela had just gotten to the base. This base, unlike the one in Ramp City, wasn't underground . In fact it was the opposite - the main base was an entire 20 stories block and the two 15 floor blocks standing on both side of the building were part of it as well. They were connected through bridges on their 15-th floor and through tunnels going underground. in addition to all those floors there were 5 more floors for each building, underneath the ground. The organisation was very busy in this city because the bigger the number of people in one place is, the bigger the number of Soul Leech incidents becomes. The buildings looked like regular neighbourhood blocks but that was just a disgise so that the government doesn't mess around with the job of the SLFO. It has been like that for years and it will continue staying like that - "hidden" from the eyes of people, protecting them and keeping the peace in the everyday world.

Seryoja and Angela entered the building and went straight for the 20th floor, because Ari was doing his work over there. The inside of the building looked like regular block as well but the truth was that inside each "apartment" there were seperate teams working on different jobs in the city, given to them by the SLFO.

Seryoja and Angela finally got to the 20th floor and went inside the room of the director of this branch of the SLFO whichwas located on this floor. It was visible that both of them were in a rush as they were taking quick breaths and were tired. There was a man with glasses, long blonde hair and black eyes in the room who turned towards them and said:

- Heyyy there Ser and sis... you were pretty quick in getting here i see, did something happen? - it was Ari who at that moment was visibly confused as to why they were so fast in getting here.

Seryoja was so tired from running that he laid down on the floor after which he said:

- Did something happen? Yes it fucking did, dare to explain to me what is happening in theis city? - he asked

- Well didn't Anji explain it to you? - asked Ari in a confused manner

- Well she did but it doesn't explain what just happened to us. - said Seryoja

- Wait, so i was right, something really did happen, what was it? Were you two attacked or something? And come to think of it, where is that small guy that you told me about in your message Seryoja? - Ari staked so many questions at once that Seryoja just answered:

- Let me take a break from the running, ask Anji. - and he continued lying down and staring at the cieling.

Ari looked at Angela which was sitting on a chair next to where Seryoja was lying and she started explaining:

- Okay, i did explain everything you said to me but its unexpected to have more that 1 high level Soul Leech in one place at the same time, so we weren't expecting what happened. - she said while looking at Ari, after which she averted her eyes towards the floor and continued - We were attacked by a high level Soul Leech, about level 6 i'd say...

- More of a level 7. - Seryoja interupted her for a sec and let her continue talking.

- Yes, its the same thing, whatever, the point is that it was waiting for the right moment to attack us and while doing so another flying Soul Leech took away the kid from us. I tried catching up to it however i lost it, and that's why we got here in a rush, we nees your help to find out where it went. - Angela finished

A moment of silence came in which Are was biting onto his thumb, after which he said:

- I see, so the situation is worse than we thought. Well at least theres one good thing that came out today.

- And what is that? - asked Seryoja - Also can you get to the point more quickly? The life of the kid is at stake and we can't afford even a second to lose.

- Yes, yes, i was getting there either way. Okay, so you already know that the rain is caused by a holy piece right? Well we found out where it is located, however there has been a problem - almost the entire team we sent to retrieve it was wiped out by a Soul Leach. - said Ari.

- Almost? - asked Angela.

- Yes, there is one survivor that got away, which is how we know where exactly the piece is, and judging by the way things went you 2 will be the only ones able to retrieve it. - said Ari

- Okay we will get to the piece later, now tell us do you know where Eliot can be? - asked Seryoja who was getting more and more frustrated with every passing second.

- Well i just did. - said Ari - It turns out the piece is located in the old sewers, however our survivor said that they found there not only the piece but countless cages as well and most of the missing people were in them...

- Okay then, we gotta hury up and get there somehow! - said Seryoja, getting ready to head there.

- Wait, theres one more thing i have to say before you head there. - said Ari.

- What is it? - asked Angela

- Those Soul Leeches down there seem to be up to something big because it appears that there were not only cages with people but cages with low level Soul Leeches as well. - said Ari with a serious look in his eyes.

- Don't worry too much, we will take care of them as well. Anji, you do know the way to enter the sewers right? - asked Seryoja.

- Yes, why? - she answered.

- Great, follow me. - said Seryoja after which he headed for the window.

- Wait, the exit is not that way. - said Ari

- I have no time to waste at the moment Ari, see you in a couple of hours again. - said Seryoja after which he took Angela in his hands and jumped off the window.

- That madman! - said Ari afer which he headed towards the window to close it.

~ I hope they get there in time... - he thought.

***(meanwhile Angela and Seryoja)***

- Hey Anji, can you do me a favour while we are in the air? - asked Seryoja

- Sure, what is it?

- Make two long spikes stick out of my back and tie them around me in a way that they don't fall off. - he said

- Okay. - she said

~ What is this guy up to now. - she though to herself while creating the spikes. - There, its all set and done. - said Anji after which she held tighter to him because they started heading upwards.

- WHAT IS HAPPENING!? - she screamed after which she looked at him and realised what had happened - he was using his holy piece power to cover the spikes with aura and used small explosions, at the end them, to reppel himself up in the air. The spikes were all fine because the aura was protecting them from the explosive power and so was it protect both of them. They were basically flying.

- Okay, where should I head to? - asked Seryoja

- Ah right, head towards the dock. The nearest entrance should be in the new sewers that are located little after where Eliot was taken from us. - she said.

- Gotcha! - he said after which they headed that way

~ Hang in there kid, we will save you soon! - he though to himself.

The timer was slowly running out. Even the smallest second was important here. But will they be able to save him?
