Chapter 8

***(we continue)***

There was still a long way left till they get to the base. The rain had stopped for a moment and the city became even quieter then before. There were still no signs of people around. It was starting to get late. The sun, that just showed up, because of the clouds starting to clear out, was about to hide behind the horizon. The moon was not visible because most of the clouds were still there.

Seryoja and Angela were quietly jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Eliot was holing tight to Seryoja while spacing out at the view from this height.

~Its amazing! - he quietly thought to himself.

They have been running for quite a while when it started pouring again. The storm was stronger then before and because they were this high up the wind was extremely fast.

- We should get down on the streets and continue from there! - Shouted Angela at Seryoja.

- Alright, I'm following you! - Seryoja shouted back, after which they both jumped of the rooftop they were on and started sliding down the block wall. Most blocks in the city were 15 floors high so it was extremely scary experience for Eliot to be part of this cascade. He closed his eyes and decided to wait till they land on the ground. The weather was getting harsher and harsher. Water was starting to pile up on the streets.

Seryoja and Angela were just about to land on the ground when something unexpected happened!

A thunder stroke out of nowhere a few blocks from where they were and took their attention away for a second, which was crucial because in the same moment a small flying creature with the size of a kid appeared out of nowhere. It looked like a flying head with wings above the ears, tail and four arms. The creature grabbed Eliot by the arms and flew away. There was no doubt - that was a soul Leech!

- WHERE THE HELL DID THIS APPEAR FROM!- shouted Seryoja after which he jumped trying to grab Eliot. Angela was not slow on the reaction either she jumped as well but neither of them were able to grab to him.

- Damn it i guess I'll have to use my power! - said Angela after which a string appeared out of her hand and shot straight at the flying creature. However this was futile as well. Another Soul Leech appeared from the top of the block and jumped in the way of the string after which it tried to pull Angela along with it but she had already severed the string. It appeared as if the Leeches had planed the ambush long time ago. On top of that the one that just appeared seemed to be quite stong.

- What are we going to do? - asked Angela, clearly distressed.

- You go after Eliot, I'll take this guy on. - answered Seryoja.

- But how will we find each other afterwards?

- Here! - said Said Seryoja afer which he tossed to her a small iron ball which he took out of his pocket.

- How the hell will this help!? - shouted Angela.

- Shut up and go after him! I'll explain later, we have no time now. - shouted Seryoja

-Okay! - said Angela after which she used a new string to climb up the building.

- Guess its the two of us now, tough guy. Lets dance a little! - said Seryoja after which he unleashed his holy piece power.

***(meanwhile on Angela's side)***

~Damn it this ashole is fast! - she though to herself

The Soul Leech was flying at an extraordinary speed straight up the wind. Angela couldn't use her power in those conditions because the wind blowed so strong that it was pushing her strings back. Eliot couldn't scream because the creature was covering his mouth with one of its hands. Angela was slowly falling behind when the creature shot down past a building and escaped from her field of vision.

-Damn it! - she shouted out of anger and jumped where the Leech flew down but there were no traces left of it. It had disappeared completely.

- God damn it, why did this have to happen right now! - she continued screaming - god knows what will happen to that kid now... - she said after which she started running back to where Seryoja was.

She got back fast but it seemed like she wasn't needed .

The Soul Leech was ripped into countless shreds by Seryoja by the time she got there.

It took Seryoja a moment to notice that she was back, but the minute he realised that Eliot is not with her he lost it:

- WHERE IS HE!? - He shouted.

- I..I couldn't catch up with that thing... it was faster then i expected and it got away...

- FUCK!... - said Seryoja after which he became quite for a second. - Lets get back to the base, i think this thing is heavily connected to the case we have to solve so they could probably help us with getting Eliot back.

-Okay... - answered Angela after which both of them started running towards the base.

***(meanwhile on Eliot's side)***

It's been almost an hour since Angela lost him. The flying creature had taken him in the sewers after which another Leech had locked him in some kind of a cage.That Leech resembled a lot of a normal human being, compared to the flying one and the one that attacked Seryoja and Angela. The only differences between a human and that Leech was that the Leech had small horns on top of its head, its fingers were like 2 times longer than those of a normal person and it had a small tail that was coming out of its neck for some reason, going all the way to the ground. Eliot didn't know which part was scarier - the way they look like or the fact that those creatures seemed to possess intelligence. A thing that grabbed Eliot's attention from the go was that he was not the only person in there. There were countless cages with others. There was also some kind of square hole in the middle of the room that had iron bars all over the top of it.

- Leave this guy with me for the time being, and go feed the small ones. - said the human lookalike Soul Leech to the flying one.

~Feed the small ones? What could he possibly mean by that? - Eliot asked himself.

Not even a second passed by and he saw something horrible happen in front of his eyes - the flying one took out a person from cage, opened some kind of door that was on top of the hole he noticed earlier, and threw the person in there. Afterwards horrible screams echoed throughout the place. That hole was full of locked down Soul Leaches that were being fed people. Eliot's heart was racing from what he witnessed. He was scared to even think that this could happen to him as well. He wanted to cry and scream for help but he knew that nobody would hear him here. He just sat there panicing on the inside.

- So...- the human lookalike Leech started talking to Eliot after which he sat next to his cage and continued - will you mind explaining to me what exactly are you?
