1 The Dragon King's Disciple
A long time ago in a planet far away from Earth, There lived a peaceful race known as the Elementalist.
This race is different from any other, Unlike you humans we have extra ordinary powers or we like to call it our Elemental Art.
My name is Ryūsei Ryūgū by the way, I am 13 years old and I'm an Elementalist...
But to tell you the truth... I don't really like being an Elementalist especially if you're in my position. Ryūsei then arrives at a park and he then looks at monument
She is known as the "Empress Of Death" Quintela Shiori.
She's a very powerful Elementalist; Everyone loved and respected her. Unfortunately on a faithful day she changed, She started to abuse her power and fell into the darkness.
No one knows the reason why she changed and it was already too late.... She even joined forces with the Demon King...
Together they began to spread chaos and destruction throughout the Kingdom..
She targeted the Elites, The Gādians, Even the Sage Council was no match for her. The Kingdom fell to ruin at that time, Everyone turned to slaves and did her bidding.
Those who refused to obey her or even fought back were instantly slaughtered. And their was no one powerful enough to stop her and free the kingdom....
Until "He" came along.
Akashino Shitetsu, he was a skilled young elementalist trained by the Dragon King himself.
He and his faithful troops declared war against Quintela and the Demon King to free the Kingdom and the Elementalist.
The war was literally chaos, The war between Demons and Elementalist.
Akashino and Quintela's battle was so fierce the sky and the planet started to shake.
Fist after fist, Spell after spell. Thousands of Elementalist lost their lives during the war. Hundreds of villages were destroyed and almost half of the entire Demon Race was gone.
After years of fighting the war was finally coming to an end... Both Quintela and Akashino were at their limits.
But suddenly... The tide of war was suddenly shifted in Quintela's favor. Quintela became more powerful by absorbing the Demon King.
Her Elemental Art and the Demon King's demonic power quickly overpowered the weakened Akashino. Because of his injuries and the little amount of mana he has left...
The ultimate sacrifice was made...
Akashino was forced to seal Quintela with the Seal Of The Dragon King using his own soul as the sacrifice to chant the seal.
After the fierce battle, the Dragon King chanted a spell upon Akashino's lifeless body. A spell that reincarnates him generation to generation with a new body and a new soul.
Centuries have passed since then and a lot has happened.... Akashino Shitetsu was given the title "Grand Elementalist" which means "Dragon King's Disciple" and unfortunately the Dragon King disappeared without a trace.
We are now in a new era of peace.
???: "Ryūsei?!!! What are you doing here???" The young girl curiously asked.
???: "Class is about to start" She added.
Her name is Kayosha Mizu. She's an Elementalist like me, And I kind of have had a little crush on her since we were kids....
Ryūsei: "I was just looking at the monument... I feel like it's trying to tell me something..." he replied.
Kayosha then looks at her watch and as soon as she sees the time she quickly grabs Ryūsei's hand.
Kayosha: "Let's go Ryūsei!!!! We'll be late for school!!!!" She quickly proclaimed and grabs Ryūsei's hand dragging him along on the way to school.
(At Aluxany Highschool)
Kayosha "Late again.... Why does it always happen to me...." she sadly muttered from her desk.
???: "Are you and Ryūsei dating or something? You both have been late 6 times already..." The young boy with red hair asked.
His name is Kasai Hoño. He's an Elementalist like me and he's been my best friend ever since we were little.
Kayosha: We're not dating!!" She yelled in embarrassment.
Kayosha: "It's Ryūsei, he's been hangout out at the park recently" She added
Kasai: "You are attracted to statues???" He tried to tease Ryūsei.
Ryūsei: "No!!! I just- feel like the statues are telling me something..." He replied, he then looked outside through the window.
The bell then rang and the other students began to sit-down as the Professor then entered the room.
???: "Okay maggots, Sit down or I'll make you sit!!!!" The teacher shouted, he then began today's lesson.
The professor with the tough guy attitude is Prof. Hex, He's our class adviser and teacher this year.
He's one of the strictest teachers in our school.... In fact even our own principal is afraid of him.
Ryūsei: "Great..." He silently muttered, he then looked at the sky. He wasn't really interested in listening to the class today.
Prof. Hex: "Listen up maggots!!! Today we're gonna have a Shōtotsu so head over to the locker room and get change." He proclaimed and then headed out the door.
Here in our world, we have this little tradition we'd like to call Shōtotsu. It's a little Elemental spar between two Elementalist.
It's a test on how much an Elementalist has improved in terms of Physical Strength, Skills and Battle Awareness.
(At The Locker Room)
Kasai: "So who do you think your opponent's gonna be???" He asked.
Ryūsei: "It doesn't really matter... I can't even cast a single spell.. How am I supposed to call myself an Elementalist if I can't even do something basic like that..." He replied, trying to hold back some tears.
Kasai: "Just believe in yourself Ryūsei, You'll get stronger" He replied trying to cheer up his best friend.
Ryūsei: "Like a D-Rank like you and Kayosha???" He asked as those words Kasai said earlier gave him hope.
Suddenly someone grabbed Ryūsei's head and slammed his face at the locker.
???: "Keep on dreaming Ryūsei" The boy quickly shouted as he continued to slam Ryūsei's head at the locker. He then pushes Ryūsei and knocks him to the floor.
???: "You'll never get to be a D-Rank like us, You're just an F-Rank loser." The boy then laughs.
Kasai: "You've gone too far Sandā!!!" He shouted and he stood in front of Ryūsei.
Sandā: "Oh, So you wanna fight me do you!!!" He asked with a smirk on his face and Lightning sparks then started to appear in his hand.
Ryūsei: "Kasai let's go!!" He yelled and quickly grabbed Kasai leaving the room immediately knowing if he didn't do something a fight might happen between the two Elementalist.
(At The Gym)
All of the students lineup together but Kayosha then notices something was wrong with Kasai and Ryūsei as both of them enter the room.
Kayosha "Are you okay? You looked pissed" She curiously asked.
Kasai: "It's Sandā!! He slammed Ryūsei's head at the locker." He replied with a tone of annoyance in his voice.
Kayosha: "Were you hurt???" She worriedly asks and immediately looks for any injuries in Ryūsei's forehead.
Ryūsei: "I'm okay really, Thanks for caring" He replied showing a smile on his face at how lucky he is to have friends like Kayosha and Kasai.
Prof. Hex: "Silence you Maggots!!!!" He yelled as he entered the room.
Prof. Hex: "Alright since everyone is now here we will now start the Shōtotsu. I'll be explaining the rules as usual so listen up!!!" He proclaimed.
As you all know an Elementalist is rated along with their Elemental Art from S-Rank being the highest up to F-Rank which is the lowest.
Shōtotsu is an ancient tradition passed down generation to generation. It's a test for an Elementalist to see how much improvement and skills they developed.
After a while of explaining, The Shōtotsu started and a couple of hours passed by and more students were done participating.
"Kasai Hoño against Mizu Aqua." Their names were announced on the loudspeaker.
"Looks like you're up!!! I wish you the best of luck." Kayosha and Ryūsei happily said in unison.
Kasai: "Thanks Ryūsei and to you as well Kayosha." He happily replied.
Kasai then heads off to the training area where he saw Prof. Hex, his opponent waiting for him.
With Kasai finally arriving, The Shōtotsu finally started and the moment the Shōtotsu started the two Elementalist quickly moved back from each other.
"Water Art: Hydro Blast!!!!" Mizu then cast a spell and a water blast was released from her hand and is heading straight towards Kasai
Kasai then easily dodges the spell and the moment he dodges the water blast he casted a spell.
"Fire Dragon: Inferno Blaze!!!" Kasai then chanted a spell and a tremendous fire blast was released from his hand and he headed straight towards Mizu.
The spell hits Mizu and knocks her on the ground declaring Kasai the winner.
A while has passed since Kasai's Shōtotsu match and a lot of Shōtotsu matches have happened.
"The final Shōtotsu match for the day will be Ryūsei Ryūgū against Flick Blaze." The announcer happily proclaimed. Their names were announced through the loud speaker.
Kasai: "Goodluck" Kasai happily said as he gave his friend a pat on the head.
Ryūsei: "Thanks Kasai-" Ryūsei happily replied but he was then suddenly interrupted when someone quickly hugged him from behind.
Ryūsei then looks behind and began to blush the moment he saw who was hugging him
Ryūsei: "K-K-K-Kayosha" He nervously stuttered as he realized who was hugging him.
Kayosha then breaks the hug and she then quickly runs in front of Ryūsei.
Kayosha: "That's my little goodluck gift for you, You better do well in the Shōtotsu!!" She happily said, trying to tease Ryūsei a little bit.
Kasai: "Can you guys flirt somewhere else, It's disgusting" He quickly proclaimed and both Ryūsei and Kayosha immediately blushed.
"We are not flirting!!!" The two of them shouted in unison with their faces all red.
Ryūsei then heads off to the training area where he sees Prof. Hex and his opponent waiting for him.
With Ryūsei finally arriving at the training area, The Shōtotsu match finally started and the moment the Shōtotsu started the two Elementalist quickly moved back from each other.
"Fire Art: Flame Bullet!!!!" Flick then chanted a spell and a fire blast was released from the tip of his finger and was heading towards Ryūsei.
Ryūsei easily dodges the spell and the moment Ryūsei dodges the fire blast Flick then casted another spell.
"Fire Art: Flame Bullet Barrage!!!!" Flick chanted a spell and a barrage of fire blasts was released from the tip of his finger and is heading towards Ryūsei.
Ryūsei easily dodges the first 2 fire blasts but unfortunately he was then hit by the remaining fire blast.
With the barrage of fire blasts hitting him, Ryūsei was on the ground, struggling to get up.
The spectators around them suddenly began to laugh at Ryūsei. They then began to shout harsh words at Ryūsei as they continued to laugh at him.
"You should just go home!!!!"
"You're just embarrassing yourself."
"An Elementalist who can't use any spells is just a worthless Elementalist."
Those words hit Ryūsei hard and tears began to flow from his eyes but he suddenly heard a voice different from the people around him.
"Ryūsei!!!! Get up!!! Show these bastards what you can do!!!!"
"Fire Art: Flame Bullet" Flick chanted a spell, releasing a concentration fire blast from the tip of his finger hitting Ryūsei in the chest.
(Ryūsei's Perspective)
"Weak"
"Pathetic"
"Are you some kind of joke an Elementalist without an Elemental Art?"
"Maybe you should jumped off from the highest tower you could find, praying that you'll be born once again but this time with an Elemental Art"
The words from the Elementalist around me kept on and on in my mind, an endless horror of memories a would rather forget. Maybe I should just die... Maybe then I'll be born again with an Elemental Art.
I could feel my chest burning up and suddenly, everything around me turned black. Did I die? Did Flick kill me? I tried to move my body but it gets heavier and heavier every time.
Suddenly a white light glowed in front me, I noticed I could move again. But where am I, I'm not anymore in the training field, I couldn't see anything except an endless void of nothing but white light.
I walked around, calling out to anyone who might be around. But to no avail, I walked more and more, which each step getting heavier and heavier, my body kept getting hotter and hotter.
It wasn't long till I noticed I giant door was in front of me. It had a giant blue dragon crest at the center of the gate, something inside me is telling that I should open the door. I slowly opened it and reached out my left hand opening the closed door.
It released a tremendous amount of energy, it was enough to knock me back and suddenly the energy that got released started to roam around the endless white void, forming a shape of a dragon, flying through the endless white void. It then quickly headed my direction eating me up.
"Since Ryūsei can't get up, I pronounce this Shōtotsu ov-" Prof Hex. then started to announce the winner for the Shōtotsu but he then was interrupted by Ryūsei
Ryūsei: "Wait!! It's not yet.... over.....!!!!" Ryūsei yelled those words while he struggled to get up.
Flick was then annoyed that Ryūsei hadn't given up so he decided to finish this once and for all.
"Fire Art: Flame Bullet Barrage!!!" Flick chanted a spell and a barrage of fire blast was released from the tipped of his finger and is heading towards Ryūsei.
The spell hits Ryūsei and knocks him to the ground. Even though Ryūsei is on the ground, he tries to get up.
Suddenly images started to appear inside Ryūsei's mind, Images of him getting bullied and pick around
Ryūsei: "I can't give up!!!" He then shouted and a ray of light emerged out of Ryūsei and transcended to the sky.
Every Elementalist around both at school and at the Kingdom sees the ray of light
"So, He's finally here or should I say, He's finally awakened." The King of the Elementalist said these words as he saw the ray of lights
