21 Displaced

The smell of the salty ocean sea and the voice of a group of men stirs him asleep as he attempts to regain his bearing. His last memory is of the arrival of the… no, that's somewhat wrong. The last thing he remembers is having dinner with his mother before going to sleep. What happened after that, what caused him to wake up in the middle of a ship, he wonders to himself.

"Oi, who the fuck brought their little bastard with them?" demands the gruff voice of a man, shaking him from his thoughts.

"Uhhh, the fuck are you talking about James. There ain't no little…" says the voice of another man before abruptly stopping. "Well I'll be… someone really brought their bastard with them. Oi, which one of you dumbasses is responsible for this?" he questions as he nudges Atem's prone body, causing the boy to decide that he can no longer ignore these people in favor of trying to figure out why he is waking up outside of his room.

With a groan Atem opens his eyes to find himself staring up at the faces of a group of sailors.

"Looks like he's awake." says one of the men. "You alright kid?" he questions as Atem sits up from his position on the floor.

"I am fine." replies the small king as he tries to shake the nausea, headache, and disorientation from his head. "Now would one of you men kindly tell me where I am?" he asks.

"Ahhh shit, we got a little noble in our hands." says one of the men, causing the entire group to groan. "Someone get the captain, hopefully she can figure what family this rascal belongs to." he orders

"I don't think that he's from the same places as us. He looks like them people from Africa, but slightly lighter." suggests a voice from the back.

"Yea, he's definitely not from our continent"

"And he's definitely listening and would very much like some answers." interjects Atem irritably as he tries to stand up only to sway on his feet before falling down on a knee. With another groan Atem feels himself about to hurl, causing him to launch himself to the railing of the ship in an attempt to throw up overboard. With another sway of the ship, Atem dry heaves and watches as nothing erupts from his mouth other than spit. With a slight frown on his face he looks within himself and can't help his frown from deepening. Something is wrong with his body and for the time being he can't exactly say what.

"Well, well, well, we really have a stowaway, that's definitely a first." says a deep voice that most definitely belongs to a woman. "To be honest when one of these scoundrels busted into my cabin talking about some little stowaway I had half a mind to blast the idiot for talking nonsense. I mean, who would possibly try to sneak onto my ship?" says the woman as the group of sailors part to allow her to pass.

Turning to look at the speaker, Atem raises an eyebrow as he straightens his posture "Yet here I am." he answers.

"Yes, here you are." replies the woman as she studies Atem while he does the same.

Standing at five feet four inches with magenta colored hair and blue eyes is perhaps the most beautiful woman that Atem has ever seen, tied only with Kassandra, despite possessing a jagged scar that runs from her forehead down to her jaw. She wears a black vest with gold accents over a red sleeveless long coat kept closed by a brown belt, white pants, and thigh high black high heeled boots. On her head she wears a black and gold triangle hat over a white fabric tied around her head.

However, Atem doesn't really care about any of this. No, what he really cares about is the fact that this woman in front of him has so much magical energy that he's almost certain that at some point in her life she bathed in the blood of a Phantasmal Beast or drunk its blood. She possesses so much magical energy that he can feel it roll off of her in waves and completely drown out the presence of her crew.

"Who are you?" asks Atem, earning incredulous looks from the crew of the ship.

"That's my line you little rascal." replies the woman

"Oi, how can you not know who our captain is?" questions a sailor. "She's El Draque, the Navigator of Storms, King of Storms, destroyer of Spain's Invincible Armada, scourge of the Spanish, and the greatest sailor to ever grace the seas!" proclaims the sailor with reverence.

"King of Storms? Really? Don't you think that you're doing a bit too much?" asks the captain as she looks at her sailor.

"No, I'm definitely not doing too much. The little rascal should know who you are." replies the sailor with a shake of his head before turning back at the crew "Isn't that right men?!" he asks with a shout, receiving a loud cheer of agreement in return.

"Honestly, you guys really are something." says the captain with a slight blush on her cheeks.

While the crew and the captain had been conversing in such a way, Atem simply watched the biplay between them with a slight smile on his face that quickly turned into a full blown laughter.

"Hahahaha, you guys don't seem so bad." says Atem in between laughs, drawing the crew's attention back to him.

"Oh, and how do you figure? For all you know we could be pirates." asks the woman with a grin.

"Because you remind me of Farah and her crew. Anyone who is that similar to the captain of my navy isn't a bad person." responds Atem.

"Really? And what if I told you that I only care for hedonistic pursuits, after all my personality is that of a selfish and greedy person." she answers with a raised eyebrow.

"So? Do exactly as you like. That is the true meaning of pleasure. Pleasure leads to joy and joy leads to happiness. Besides, a soul naturally seeks pleasure, consciously or not." says Atem as he crosses his arms "Now, I believe that your subject has identified you as none other than Sir Francis Drake himself? I was led to believe that Francis Drake was a man, yet you are a woman?" he asks.

"Huhhh? The Captain? A woman?!" exclaims Francis Drake's crew.

"Ergh, we cannot call ourselves men if we look at the captain as a woman; or rather, it would be rude towards her." says one of the sailors with a vivid shake of his head.

"Ah, I understand now. It's not that Francis Drake isn't a woman, but rather that everyone who meets or hears about her refuses to consider her one due to her being this amazing. As such she goes down in history as being a man." says Atem, causing the sailors to nod in agreement before they abruptly stop as they process the final words of Atem's statement.

"Hey kid, what's this about going down in history? I'm still alive y'know…" replies Francis Drake before slowly trailing off as she considers something. "Tell me kid, you wouldn't happen to be from the future would you?" she asks.

"Oh, you actually figured it out this quickly. That's impressive. Although I do wonder how you came to that conclusion, I don't remember you having any connection to the Moonlit world."

"When you travel the entire world you're bound to encounter some strange and unexplainable things." replies Drake. "The question is, how did you get here?"

"I have my theory." says Atem as he caresses the Millennium Necklace around his neck. Out of all the Millennium Items, the Millennium Necklace is the one that deals with time and alternate dimensions. With it the user can see into the past, the future or alternate dimensions. There is even a belief that truly worthy pharaohs can use it to travel through time and alternate realities and dimensions, similar to how Zelretch is able to travel and observe other worlds through Kaleidoscope, the Second Great Sorcery.

"Fine, you don't have to tell us how you got here, but you gotta at least introduce yourself." says Drake as she sees Atem fail to elaborate. Despite this however she is quite sure that it has to do with the golden necklace around his neck.

"Very well. My name is Atem, King of Hayti."

"Hayti, Hayti, why does that sound familiar? Wait… isn't that one of those islands that Spain rules right now?" asks Drake. "Yeah…I remember it being one of the western islands Columbus landed on. The dumbass had the audacity to name it La Isla Española as if there weren't people living there already." she says with disdain. "Well, it doesn't matter now. The old bastard's dead anyways. Come one, we can talk some more in my cabin." says Drake as she gestures for Atem to follow her.

Arriving within her quarters in the galleon, Francis Drake sits behind a desk filled with papers and scrolls while gesturing for Atem to sit down on the chair in front of it.

"I'll be honest with you kid, I'm not too thrilled about you showing up out of nowhere on my ship. Especially since I can tell that you're not human." says Drake.

"I should be the one saying that. What Phantasmal Beast blood did you drink to have so much magical energy? It's almost on par with a Campione's." says Atem.

"Phantasmal Beast?" asks a confused Drake with the tilt of her head.

"Phantasmal Beast, or Phantasmal Species, is the common term used to refer to all non-human creatures that are found in legends and fantasy. Essentially dragons, sphinxes and phoenixes." explains Atem.

"Ahhh, alright that makes sense. I killed some giant sea serpent somewhere near Greece. I ate the meat and used the blood in the cooking process." says Drake with a nod.

"The serpent must have at least ranked in the higher tiers of Phantasmal Beasts or lower tiered Divine Beasts." speculates Atem.

"Whatever you say kid, you're the one experienced with all this magic stuff. I'm just the toughest sailor to sail these seas. Still, I wanna know, what are you?" she asks once again.

"I am a godslayer." answers Atem.

"Damn kid, that's a bold claim." says Drake with a whistle. "I've heard about godslayers before. Walking calamities that no magus, sorcerer, or otherwise can beat so they gotta cater to them and their wants and needs"

"Yes, my siblings do tend to go overboard." admits Atem.

"Hmmm, so tell me Atem, what's your plan now?" asks Drake.

"I must return to my time. My people need me." says Atem with a slight frown as he contemplates how to achieve that. This is his first time experiencing something like this and none of his lessons with Aknadin prepared him for this.

Lately his lessons have been on mastering what magic he knows as opposed to learning new ones. The closest thing he knows that may be able to help him would be his experience with the Millennium Eye. Unfortunately however, each Millenium Item functions differently according to Aknadin. For example, using the Millenium Eye is quite similar to how one might use their Mystic Eyes, while using the Millenium Keye simply requires the owner to will the effect into existence.

"Uh, not bad kid. It looks like you're doing it." says Drake, shaking Atem from his thoughts.

Following Drake's eyes, Atem looks down at his hands to find himself slowly dematerialising into small flickering golden lights.

"It seems so." says Atem before turning back to Drake. "In that case I want to thank you for your hospitality." he says as a golden portal to the Pharaoh's Treasury opens and a bottle of rum falls through it and onto Drake's desk. "The finest rum from my time. A gift for your hospitality."

"Eh you're not so bad after all, kid. Now you just need to learn how to loosen up and you'll be great." says Drake with a grin as she takes the bottle.

"We'll see." says Atem as his head becomes the only part of his body remaining.

"When you figure out how to use those powers of yours you should visit. It'd be a shame if I never saw you again."

"Very well. It's a promise then." says Atem before he completely disappears in a burst of golden light.

"What an interesting kid." says Drake before she takes a chug out of the bottle of rum. "Ahhh, that's the damn best rum I've ever had" she sighs. "Hopefully he visits some time. It'd be a shame if this bottle is the only one I ever drink."

AN: Here's the next chapter. As usual, tell me what you think and don't be afraid to tell me your theories and speculations. Also, I have a Fate Grand Order fanfic in the works to replace From Mortal to Divinity until I feel like returning to it (I don't feel like writing the DxD jump right now tbh). It's an isekai story and I plan on using the waifu catalogue for that fanfic so comment who the MC should have as servants and who you want to see as a waifu (no lolis please).

Per usual the next chapter is on my pat re on, pat re on .com / servant ambrosius (without the spaces). Follow me on instagram at servant_ambrosius. Also there's this awesome platform for lightnovels/manga/webcomics called VoyceMe check out the stories on there. It's new but it has great content and is growing quickly.
