Chapter 1: Bad Idea

I was worn out, if I was not going to lie to my self, which it felt like I seemed to do a lot. I knew that I had to though, as it was more the fact that I was lying to all of the others around me. You might think of that it a bad way, but it was not bad at all, well, at least for all of the others that were around me, as it did in fact kind of feel bad for me, as to the fact that it did not help me at all.

I knew that I had to how ever, as I knew that I needed to stay strong for every one, in this cruel place that we lived in right now. It was awful, and it felt like it was only getting worse day by day none the less as well. I felt sick, as I was not all too certain as to what it was that I should do. I had been tempted to run off with my wife, Sandy, and go out on our own in the world that was beyond our borders.

I knew that I could not risk it though, as I was not all too sure as to what it was that was out side of our borders for one thing, as for all that we knew, it could be worse out there. I knew for a fact when the night came, it was for sure a lot worse, and we would not make it out there in those conditions either, as it did not take me all too long to shake out all of those thoughts of running away from our lands, from out of my head.

It was a stupid idea, as I knew that even if it was bad here, it could be worse for us, and we were not the worst off for all of the people that lived around the area, as I was lucky enough to have a job that at least put food on the table for me and my wife. That was about it how ever, as we did not have any thing to do any thing else, much like 99% of the people that lived here, as there was for sure a lot of muggings and robbery's as of late.

I sighed a bit to my self all at once, as I was tempted to close my eyes, but I knew that I had to keep on going, and keep on with the building of what ever structure this was going to be. I knew that I could not let my self lay to rest, as I would get in a lot of trouble for one thing, and it could lead to the risk of me getting killed, as I knew that it was not just the people that ruled their lands that were evil, but it felt like the people that watched around the area, which used to be normal like my self, were just as evil as them.

I was not all too sure, as to what it was that they had gained from their power, as I knew that they did not get paid all too much more than I did. Maybe it was just the satisfaction that they had the power that did it for them. It was quite a bit sad for me, as I knew a lot of those people used to be decent people, but of course, that was back when the land was normal, and we did not have rulers that laid down strict laws and restrictions on all of the people that lived here.

They said it was going to be better, and that it would get rid of a lot of crimes, as I knew that a lot of people had in fact believed it, as I was one of those that supported all of it when I was a lot younger, but now I saw how bad it was first hand, and just how evil it was. I saw that the land before, even the lowest people were still well off, as no one really lived out in the streets, struggling to make it through the freezing cold nights.

Now they were all over the place, and it was a sickening sight to see, as I lifted my head up, seeing a dead corpse rotting not all too far away from me right now, as it was clear that the man had not made it through the time that he had to go through just a few nights before now. I looked away from the thing that was once a man, as I felt like I could not have my eyes on what it was that I saw, for any longer.

I felt like I wanted to vomit right now, but I knew at the exact same time too, that it was only going to be getting me in just a little bit more trouble. I had been cutting it close as far as it was so far, and I was lucky that Noah, who was one of the 2 managers in my specific area had stepped in for me, over Isabelle who was not the best manager, as he had saved me from getting my self killed, as he knew that I was a good worker.

I knew that it was only going to work for me so many times how ever, as I knew that I needed to get back to work now, as I then began to put the sandy bricks back up, and sticking it together so that the pieces did not fall apart if any thing we're to happen. I had been tempted to mess with it, so that some thing we're to happen, but I still was not all too certain as to what this place was going to be used for just yet, and I did not want to risk the lives of good and innocent people.

I shook my head, as I did my best to try to shake off all of those thoughts all at once, at the exact same time as well, as I sighed a bit to my self once again, and I just kept on going on with my daily business, and my job, as I really just wanted to get back home, and make sure that my wife, Sandy, was doing alright, as I knew that she was very well in to pregnancy, and soon she was going to be in labor.

I had been practicing what it was that I needed to do when that day was to come, but I still was quite a bit worried that I might not be there for it, as I knew that I worked 10 hours ever single day at this place, as it wore me out quite a bit, and most days I just wanted to get back home and lay in my bed, not worrying about any thing else that was going on in the world right at that very moment in time.

Luckily, I did have a good neighbor at the same time too, who she had done it several times her self, so I knew that she had experience in it, and she had said that she would make sure that she was okay if I was not at the home. I felt a lot more safe since she had told me that, as I now was not nearly as worried, nor was I as stressed out as I might be, if I was at work, knowing that she might get in to labor at any moment as well.

I knew that Tona was a good lady, and she would make sure that she was okay, as her husband, used to work with me at this job site that we worked out, as he had passed on several years before all of this. But still, that was after the leaders had taken over, as it was what always had me worried, and always had me looking behind my back to make sure that nothing was going on at all, and it also always had me worried that I too could be killed just like he was at our work place.

I hated the day that I had to go back home at break the news to Tona that she was now a widow, as it broke my heart having to do that. Tona was one of those lucky ones at the very least, after her husband had passed on, her parents had been very wealthy, and she had got a fair amount of money to last her a good amount of time on her own as well. I was glad for her, but I knew that she was still heart broken, even up to this day.

I blinked my eyes, as I then got my focus off of all of that, all at the exact same time as well, as I then heard a loud voice start to yell from not all too far away from me, which did in fact freak me out a bit at first, due to the fact that I knew I was walking a fine line as it was already, and I was afraid that they were yelling at me, as if I had done some thing wrong, which did not make all too much sense to me, as, as far as I knew that had not been the case at all.

I breathed in heavily, as I blinked my eyes a few times at the exact same time as well, as I turned my head over to where the voice was coming from, to see who it was, and what it was that was going on in the first place. As I looked over as to who it was that was yelling, I then thankfully saw that it was Noah, as it did not seem like Isabelle was any where in sight at this very moment in time, thankfully enough for me, as I could not even stand to look at her face.

I looked at the manager for just a few moments, as I tilted my head a little bit at the exact same time too, to try to figure out what was going on, and what it was that he was yelling at, and yelling for any ways as well, none the less, as I knew that the man was a decent man, and it was rare for him to be yelling, unless there was a good reason for him to be yelling, as I could tell it was in quite a loud voice.

I knew that it was not me how ever, as he did not have his eyes on me at all right now, luckily enough for my self, as I then nodded to my self all of the sudden as well, still a little bit lost on what it was that was going on at this very moment in time any ways. I stared at him for a little while longer, as I then finally did in fact begin to listen as to what it was that he was saying to who ever in the very first place any ways.

"Alright every one! Head the the eating room, it's time for lunch!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, as I let out a bit of a sigh of relief at the exact same time too, as I knew that it really was not any thing bad at all. It still did come as a bit of a surprise to me as to what it was that he had said how ever, as it was not usually him that was the one to call every one in to eat, as it did not seem like Isabelle was any where in sight at this very moment in time.

I was not all too sure if I should be happy, and glad she to that fact, or if I should be a bit afraid, as she usually was all on every one's asses around this time of the day. Surely she had to be going to do some thing mischievous at this very moment right? I was tempted to go up and ask Noah as to where it was that she was at right now, but at the exact same time too, I also knew that it was not any of my business at all either.

I shook my head, as I then got my focus on what it was that was going on at this very moment in time, as I saw a bunch of people now leaving their working stations, as it then hit me at the exact same time too, as to just what it was that was even going on right now in the first place any ways, as I then began to remember as to what it was that Noah had just said to every one, as I saw that every one was heading over to the lunch room.

There was one thing that I was grateful for at the very least, which was the fact that the place that I worked at, at least fed us during the lunch hours, as I knew that most places around this city did not do that at all. While the food might not be the best quality of food, it still was food, and I knew that it filled up my grumbling stomach that I could feel right at this very moment in time, moving, and groaning all over the place right now.

I dropped the tools that I had been using to build, as I then followed the others a bit far behind, as I was ready to go put some thing in to my belly finally, as I bit of a smile all of the sudden popped up on my face for some odd reason or another, even though I knew that I hated being around the place that I was at right now. I shook off all of those thoughts all at once any ways how ever, as I kept on following them, seeing the last person walk out of the room that I was in at this very moment in time.

I knew where the eating area was how ever, so I was not too worried as to the fact that I was a fair bit behind all of the others, as I knew that I had plenty of time to get some food for my self, and eat it with plenty of time to spare at the exact same time too. I shook off all of those thoughts all at once, and just got my focus on what it was that I was even doing right now in the very first place any ways.

That was of course the fact that I was going to the room where every ate in, as I was about to get out of the door to the room, when all of the sudden, I saw some ones arm stop my right in my path, as I turned my head a little bit, and I tilted it quite a bit at the exact same time too, not all too sure as to what it was that was going on right now either, and what could be the reason that some one might have stopped me.

I was a bit freaked out at first, as I felt like I was in quite a bit of some trouble, which was the last thing that I wanted to get my self in right now, as I then all of the sudden, lifted my head up, looking at the person that had stopped me in the very first place any ways, as I saw that to my surprise, it was Noah, and he had his eyes squinted at me at the exact same time too, as if I had done some thing that was highly suspicious, and that I might be about to get in trouble for it as well.

I felt sick, as I gulped just a bit to my self at the exact same time too, as I then all of the sudden tilted my head at him at the exact same time too, letting him know that I was lost as to the reason that he had stopped me in the very first place any ways. It did not seem like he was upset at me at all, such as Isabelle usually was, but at the same time too, I knew that he was quite a bit hard to read, and I could not be all too certain as to what it was.

Noah looked at me for a little while longer, as he then all of the sudden nodded to me at the exact same time as well, to let me know that he was about to speak to me. I blinked my eyes a few times, still kind of a bit afraid for one thing, but also the fact that I was quite a bit lost as to what it was that was going on in the very first place right now, any ways, as I could tell, just based off of the fact that he had his eyes squinted at me, that he was waiting for me to nod back to him.

I shivered just a little bit to my self, but in the end, I did in fact nod back to him, to let him know that I was listening, and that I was paying attention as to what it was that he had to say to me any ways. It was clear that as soon as I had done that, it made him feel quite a bit safe, as he let out a bit of a loud sigh, and he then did in fact start to speak to me, as I did in fact listen as to what it was that he had to say to me right now in the first place.

"Randolph... You are the only person that I can trust... Just keep this between you and me okay?" He said to me at first none the less, as I was quite a bit lost as to what it was that he had meant by what it was that he had said to me in the first place any ways, as I kept my head tilted quite a bit at him, to let him know that I was in fact quite a bit lost as to what it was that he had meant by what it was that he had just said to me. Noah seemed a little bit bothered by it for some odd reason or another, as I saw him dip his head a little bit low to the ground. I still was quite a bit lost as to what it was that was even going on right now, if I was not going to lie to my self, but as I gave my self a few seconds to think, it then began to hit me as to what it was that he had meant by that, as it was clear that he was going to tell me a bit of a secret. I wondered if this was some kind of test that he was doing on me, as I still was a bit lost, but if I was not going to lie to my self, I kind of could not help but to be interested in what it was that he had to say to me right at this very moment in time. I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I then all of the sudden nodded to him, to let him know that I still was listening as to what it was that he had to say to me, and that I agreed on the promise that I was making with him. I could tell it made him feel quite a bit better, as he then lifted his head back up to me all at once, and he then nodded back to me at the exact same time too, as he then began to speak to me, as I listened as to what it was that he had to say to me once again. "There is words of an uprising going on... I need you to tell me who is in on all of this, so that we can shut in down before it all gets too out of hand."

I blinked a few times, as I was quite a bit shocked, as well as a bit lost on what it was that he had said to me at the exact same time too, as it was clear that the man had a fair amount of trust in me none the less. I was not all too sure as to what it was that I should say in a bit of a response by what it was that he had just said, as frankly, I was not all too certain as to what it was that he had exactly meant by what it was that he had said at the end.

Even if Noah was in fact a decent man, as so it seemed, I knew that he still was a part in all of the evil that was going on right now, so I still was not all too ready to fully trust this man. I also knew at the exact same time too, that I had told my self, that if there really was a rebellion going on, than I would be one of the first ones to join it, as I knew that the land that I lived in right now, was not like it once had used to me either.

Also, the last thing that confused me the most out of all of it none the less, too, was the fact that he some how had heard talks of a rebellion going on, whilst I had not heard a word let out about any of that. Though I suppose, I really had not been paying all too much attention as to what it was that was going on right now as of late, due to the fact that I had most of my thoughts focused on the fact that my wife was pregnant, and she was stuck back at home right now, too.

I let out a bit of a soft sigh all too my self all at the exact same time too, as I still was not all too sure as to what it was that I should say back to Noah. I knew that I would be a bit of an idiot to tell him know, as that would be the perfect excuse to make the man angry, and get me killed, as it meant that I was going to be helping the rebellion, which I knew had tried to start up several times, but it had not taken all too long to get shut down.

I felt like I could play this both ways if I was not going to lie to my self, as I could choose between both sides of the equation, as I knew that if this rebellion actually had a chance to be some thing, than I could simply not tell Noah about it, and I could join in on it, or perhaps even lie to Noah, which would make me feel quite a bit bad if I was not going to lie, as I really did not like to lie to any one at all, if if I was going to be serious with my self.

There was also the factor that if this was a stupid idea, that I could put it out as soon as it even began, and I could go and tell Noah, which would mean that I would not get my self in any sort of trouble as well, and also the fact that it might give me a good raise, or even a promotion at the work place that I worked at right now. I blinked a few times, as I then did my best to get my focus off of all of those thoughts at the exact same time too, as I knew that I had a lot to work with right now, and I simply just needed to play my cards right, and it could all work out for me in the end.

I did my best to hide a bit of a grin, as I then got my focus, and my eyes back on Noah at the exact same time too, as I knew that we had been standing together for quite a bit of some time now, and I was sure that it made him feel kind of a little bit awkward if I was not going to lie to my self once again as well. I sighed just a little bit to my self, as I then did my best to try to get my focus off of all of the thoughts that I had been having before, as I kept my focus on what it was that was going on at this very moment in time.

That was of course, that Noah had just spoke to me, and it was clear that he was still waiting to hear a full response to what it was that he had just said to me, just to make sure that I was in on all of it, as I was not all too certain as to what else he thought I might respond with, besides the fact that I had no other choice but to agree with what it was that he had said to me, as he knew just as well as I did, as to what it was that would happen to me, if I did not comply to his terms.

I was tempted to dip my head a bit low to the ground, as those kind of thoughts went on through my head all at once as well, as I did my best to just try to stay strong right now, and to act as normal as I possibly could, which I was quite good at, as though I knew that I did not like to lie all too much, I was good at it, as I then nodded to him all at once, and I then began to speak back in a response to what it was that he had just said to me finally.

"Yes... I will keep you filled in on it... I just have not been paying all too much attention on any of that right now, as my wife is about to go in to labor..." I said back to him, as I saw that he was quite a bit surprised as to what it was that I had just said to him in the very first place any ways, as I saw that his eyes went wide open all at once, as I could tell that he was happy for me, once again, making me want to so badly trust this man, and just fill him in on all of it.

I knew that I had friends in this work place though, and if they were in on all of this, than I might just continue to pretend that I really did not have a clue as to what it was that was going on right now, as I knew that what it was that I had said to him, was perfect for me, as I knew that it meant that I had a lot of different ways for this to go for me at this point, as it also reminded me that it might not be too good of an idea to be joining a rebellion right now, either, just due to that fact.

I shook off all of those thoughts all at once, at the exact same time as well how ever, as I then all of the sudden, all at the exact same time too, then saw that there was a bit of a shocked look on the face of Noah, as well as a look that seemed to be a bit of happiness for some odd reason or another, which did in fact confuse me quite a bit, if I was not going to lie to my self as well, as I tilted my head just a little bit, to let him know that I was in fact quite a bit lost with what it was that was going on right now, any ways.

Noah began to laugh, as it kind of freaked me out at the exact same time too, if I was not going to lie to my self, as I really did not have much of a clue as to what it was that was going on with him. For all I knew, the man could be just using me to gain some sort of trust in him from me, and I knew that he could simply be using me, as I knew that it was not the first time that it had happened to me either.

I was tempted to squint my eyes at him, but at the same time too, I also stopped my self from doing as such, as I knew that, like it or not, the man was still the superior over me, and he was the one that had control over every single thing that I decided to do. I let out a bit of a soft sigh all at once as well, as I did my best to try to get my focus off of all of those thoughts, even though I knew damn well that it still very well could be the case.

I kept it in my head just a little bit, as I kept my eyes on him for just a little while longer, to see as to what it was that he was doing at this very moment in time, as he then all of the sudden began to speak to me at the exact same time too, in a little bit of a response him self, as to what it was that I had just said to him not all too long ago, as it felt like I had nearly forgot that I had even spoken to him in the very first place any ways.

As it all seemed to slowly come back to me, I then nodded to him all at once, to let him know that I was in fact listening as to what it was that he had to say to me in the very first place any ways. He smiled just a little bit to him self, as I was not all too certain as to what it was that was going on with him right now, but I shook off all of those thoughts all at once, as I then remembered that he was in fact speaking to me right now, as I then began to listen as to what it was that he had to say as well.

"Well... I wish you the best of luck on all of that... I am sorry to bother you, and to put any more stress on you... You just go ahead and get some lunch now..." He said back to me, as I blinked my eyes at him at the exact same time too, as it came as a bit of a surprise to me as to what it was that he had just said to me in the first place as well, as I was not all too certain as to what it was that I should do right now.

I sighed just a little bit to my self, as the man's voice sounded genuine and all, but at the same time too, I still felt like I should not trust him either, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh, and I then walked past Noah at the exact same time too, doing my best to try not to think all too much on what it was that he had just said to me not all too long ago at the exact same time as well, as I just kept on walking.

I could almost feel the blank and cold stare that he had in his eyes, as it might seem like that Noah all of the sudden did not trust him all too much, which I felt could not be the case at all, as it was clear that he too had been genuine with what it was that he had said back at him at the same time too, as I just kept on going further from him, speeding up just a little bit, until I was finally out of the room, and down the hallway that led to the eating room.

I blinked my eyes just a few times, as I did my best to get my focus off of all of the thoughts that I had been having before, as I kept my eyes, and my focus on the place that I saw a fair bit ahead of me all at once too, as I then began to head over to that place all of the sudden as well, breathing in heavily, due to the fact that I had a lot of stress and anxiety building up in me at this very moment in time too.

I sighed just a bit to my self, as I shook my head all at once as well, as I knew that there was nothing for me to be freaking out about right now, as I knew that I was the one that had the upper hand in all of this, and that I could make what ever decision it felt like I wanted to choose as well, as now that I knew that, and I realized that, a bit of a smile all of the sudden popped up on my face all at once, as I kept on going to the eating room, that I heard a lot of noise coming from at this very second in time.

Once I got in to the room, I then began to look all around me, to see as to where it was that the food was left out at today, as I knew that we each got one pack, and if any one was trying to take any more with them, than it meant that they were going to get in a lot of trouble too, as well as the fact that it would mean that they could be killed, as people had learned not do such a thing quite a long time ago at this point, thankfully enough, as I saw that there was still one closed bag full of food at a nearby table.

I nodded to my self, as I was glad that it was the case at the exact same time too, as I quickly began to head over to where it was that I saw the food at, as I let out a bit of a soft sigh of relief, as I then quickly grabbed it, knowing just how hungry I was at this very moment in time, as it also reminded me as well, that I needed to go to the market place later tonight, and get some food for me and my wife, never the less as well.

I nodded just a bit to my self, as I then picked up the bag, and I then began to look around at the exact same time too, to see if I could find any of my friends in the room as well, as it seemed to be quite a full room, due to the fact that there were other sections of people in the area right now. As I continued to look around for people that I not only knew, but also liked, I then saw my friend, Randy, at a nearby table with a weird guy, that went by the name of Sabin as well.

At first, I was tempted to just choose not to go over to where it was that they were at right now, as I knew that I was not all too fond of Sabin, but at the exact same time too, I also knew that it had been quite a while since the last time that I had spoke to Randy too, as I was not all too certain when I would get another chance to talk to him after all of that either, as I sighed just a bit to my self, rolling my eyes, as I then began to walk over to their table.

I was not all too certain as to why it was that Randy was talking to Sabin, as I thought that it was well known by every one, that Sabin was a weird guy, and that he was not likely the guy that you wanted to make friends with either any ways, as I knew that a lot of people tended to make fun of him, and I really did not want that on my conscience right now. I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well how ever, as soon as I got to the table, as I remembered that I still had not yet told Randy about my wife.

I smiled just a little bit to my self, as I then walked up on the table all at once, as I then saw Randy looked at me with a bit of a smile, as it was clear that he was happy to see me, as he was a good guy, and I knew it. He was not my best friend by any means, but he was a great guy to go up to and share all of your feelings with him, as I knew that he would not judge you with what it was that you had to say, either.

Randy quickly looked away from me how ever, for some odd reason or another, as soon as I joined him at the table, as he seemed to turn his head over to Sabin all at the exact same time as well, as I was a little bit confused as to why that might be so any ways, as I then turned my head over to Sabin, as I then noticed that the guy was speaking to Randy, as I then turned my head over to him, as I was interested in to what it was that he was saying, that seemed to have Randy so hooked in to him.

I wanted to laugh, just due to the fact that I was with Sabin right now, as I was a bit worried that people would judge me as to the fact that I was with that guy right now, but I shook off all of those thoughts all at once how ever, as I then heard the first few words of the last sentence that he had just said, as I was a bit shocked by what it was that he had just said at the exact same time too, if I was not going to lie to my self as well.

I blinked my eyes a few times at Sabin, as I saw a bit of a dead serious look on the face of Randy as well, as it seemed like he actually was believing what it was that the guy was saying some how, at the exact same time too. I tilted my head just a bit at first, as I really was not all too sure as to what it was that was going on right now, but I did in fact listen as to what it was that he had to say to him any ways how ever.

"Can't you see it?! We have to make a stand on this... It's been going on for too long... We are on the top percentage of people wealth wise, but still we struggle to feed our families... It was not always like this... Some thing must be done..." He said to Randy, as I was tempted to laugh at it at the exact same time too, as I could tell that the guy was dead serious with what it was that he was saying to Randy as well.

It was just funny to me, simply due to the fact that I knew that this was now what it was that Noah had told me about, as I was now starting to think of it as a joke all at once as well. I knew that no one was going to take Sabin seriously, so there felt like there was no reason for me to tell Noah about any of this at all, if I was going to be honest with my self, as I really was not a big fan of Sabin, but at the same time too, I did not want the poor guy killed either.

I shook my head as I shook off all of those thoughts all at once as well, as I did my best to try to not get too worried about all of it either, as I then all of the sudden, turned my head over to Randy, as I was a bit lost as to why he had gone over to Sabin, to hear out what it was that he had to say, as it was clear that it was an awful idea as well, as I knew that there was no way he was going to get any support on it either, especially with all of the attention that Sabin had on him self.

I looked over at Randy, as I was almost tempted to snicker just a little bit, due to the fact that I felt like it was a bit of a joke, even if I saw that the look on the face of Sabin was dead serious. I was tempted to just brush Sabin off, just to let him know that it was not worth risking his own life over, as what it was that he was saying right now, sounded a lot like what was always said.

I looked over to Randy, just to make sure that he did not believe that we had any sort of chance in any idea that the guy had, but to my surprise how ever, I saw that Randy had his head tilted a bit, as it seemed like he was actually ready to hear Sabin through on all of this, as I rolled my eyes, thinking both him and my friend were idiots. I squinted my eyes at Randy, trying to tell him some thing, which was too late of course, as he began to speak back to Sabin before he looked back over to me.

I sighed a bit to my self, as I was not all too sure as to what it was that Is should do. Perhaps I should tell Noah, and he might just brush it off as a joke. I felt like it still might not be the case how ever, as I shook off all of those thoughts all at once, and I then all of the sudden, turned my head over to Randy, and I then began to listen as to what it was that he had to say back to Sabin in the first place.

"I don't know dude... Sounds way too risky... It never works... I think that it is a bad idea..."
