13 Chapter XIII - Journey Through The Desert III

Ultio sighed and slicked some of the loose strands of his hair back. "Wow. First day and I'm already being followed," He said lazily as he walked through the trade and business area of Lont.

After he left the inn, he immediately noticed two people following him. He recognised one to be the young lady that was staring at him during his journey, and the other one to be the masked lady he was staring at this morning.

"Maybe staring at people is a sort of... Greeting, and they are following me because they think we're acquainted," Ultio muttered to himself worriedly. "Gosh, socialisation is difficult," He said and rounded a corner.

The two ladies behind him increased their pace and went through the corner, only to find a street bustling with people. Obviously, they couldn't find Ultio within the ocean of people crowded around different shops and stalls.

"Damn, we lost him," Veronica clicked her tongue and cursed under her breath.

At that moment, Rena tapped her shoulder and pointed at a fancy restaurant with large windows down. Through one of those windows, she spotted Ultio sitting at a table, waving at her. "Yeah, and he found us," Rena said with a groan.

*****

"So, ladies, would you mind explaining why you have been following me?" Ultio asked as soon as his two stalkers had gotten seated.

Veronica huffed and crossed her arms. "Well you're no gentleman," She murmured.

Rena glanced at her teammate and sighed, before turning back to Ultio. "We noticed you,"

"Doing what?" Ultio asked with a raised eyebrow as he took a sip from the cup of coffee he had ordered before his stalkers' arrival.

"You were on a Dragon," Veronica said and placed her arms on the table, leaning forward until her face was a few inches away from Ultio's. "We both know Dragons would never be subservient to another race, so would you mind telling us what you're doing here in Lont, or would you prefer us to inform the Dragon Realm about this?"

Ultio placed his cup on the table and let out a breath. A slight smirk grew on his face and his crossed his arms over his chest. "Blackmail? Do you really think blackmail would work on me?"

Rena and Veronica smiled slightly. "Dragons are the supreme power amongst mortals, I've certain there's no one that would want to offend them," Rena said persuasively.

"Oh no, I dare you, offend the Dragons," Veronica said laughingly and tapped her fingers on the table.

Ultio stayed silent for a while and leaned back in his chair.

"Good cop, bad cop?"

The two ladies chuckled slightly, hearing Ultio's words. "It wasn't too hard to figure out, was it?"

"Yeah," Ultio said lazily and got to his feet. "Now, I believe it would be best if you got going right about now. A friend of yours is about to lose his head... Literally,"

"What?"

The two women shot to their feet with deep scowls on their faces.

"A friend of yours is about to be killed. Shall we go visit the potential crime scene?" Ultio said with a dark smirk.

In the market, all eyes were watching closely as a peculiar scene played out.

A tall, dark skinned man with long brown hair styled into braids, stood over a black haired youth dressed in red Samurai armour who was kneeling before him, beaten and defeated.

The dark skinned man held a sharp dagger which was glowing red and emitting intense heat. He wore a white, one-armed robe and a black strap over his shoulder, with a white, bone-like mask on his face that went over the bridge of his nose and his cheekbones.

"Hmph," He snorted disdainfully and rose his hot dagger over his head.

A second later, he brought the dagger down swiftly, cleanly taking off the young man's head in one quick swing.

The young man's head rolled a few feet forward and was stopped by someone's black boot.

"Ah, my shadow boots are good enough to fool even the author," Ultio said with a smirk and lightly kicked the youth's head away.

Although confused by Ultio's words, the dark skinned man still took a step forward and appeared right in front of Ultio with a dark, menacing aura slowly pulsating from his entirety.

"Who are you?" He asked with narrowed eyes.

Even though Ultio was quite tall himself, the dark skinned man still had the lower his head to look into his eyes.

Ultio twisted his lips and chuckled slightly. "Quite the tall one, aren't you? Nevertheless, I'm Ultio V, a pleasure to meet-"

"Never heard of you," The dark skinned behemoth swung his incredibly sharp dagger at Ultio's neck without even waiting for him to finish speaking.

CLANG!

Bright sparks flew into the air as the red hot dagger came in contact with Ultio's next, however, it was simply as a result of the dagger coming in contact with something tougher than even the most durable metal under the heavens.

"That's rude," Ultio said darkly, his smirk disappearing into thin air. His hand flew up and grabbed the dark skinned man's dagger as his shadow glove retreated.

The dark skinned man's eyes widened in shock as he watched his dagger turn to dust right before his very eyes. The dagger made from a Gorgon's eye, a Dragon's tooth and a very miniscule but powerful amount of Celestial Steel. "H-how?"

"Simple..." Ultio began as his eyes became red, with the Alpha and Omega symbols forming in them. "My existence is far beyond your level of understanding,"
