13 Chapter 13: Too Strong

After walking a short way, the group noticed their arrival. Michael noted that there were 6 people in the group, excluding himself and Runi. Walking up to the group leader, who introduced himself as Inferior Blade, Michael introduced himself as the name Lone Sentinel and Runi as Lone Ranger.

Due to the VR aspect of Niflheim, party members' names weren't displayed on the party menu and were only on the friend list. One did not need to add party members, only to verbally request it. He also assumed that it would be better to have similar names, to better explain why they were together.

"On your form, it only mentioned you coming, though," Inferior stated.

"It's alright, he doesn't want a part of the rewards, he's just here to see the dungeon since it's not every day that you find a dungeon. I think this is the first dungeon found too, so it's a nice experience," Michael stated.

What he said wasn't necessarily false, but Runi didn't need to see a dungeon, since he was much stronger than it. More than likely, it would just be a bore for him.

"As long as he doesn't want a part of the rewards, then it doesn't hurt to have an extra pair of hands to help out. No going back on your word, though."

It wasn't actually required to add members to a party to go into the dungeon, but it was the only way that experience would be split among members. Otherwise, the members would each get their own experience, and only the quest holder would get the rewards at the end of the dungeon.

With that being said, Michael and the group started to make their way to the dungeon. On their way, they had to kill a few level 10 monsters. Since it's been a few days after the release of Niflheim, the average level of the elite players has increased. During the first few days of the game, players would see a rapid increase in levels due to the amount of experience required being so low. After level 10, however, the amount of experience increased by a large margin, causing many people to fall behind on levels.

After a short walk, they arrived at a simple-looking cave. While looking simple, it was actually the entrance to a 10-man level 10 dungeon. This dungeon caused many players to become excited when it was first discovered. Many formed teams and instantly rushed into the Normal mode of the dungeon. The only problem being that dungeon monsters had more intelligence than field monsters. Not only did they have better stats, but they were able to comprehend the situations better, almost like NPCs.

After many players rushed into the dungeon, sometime later they had all come back out. They had been team wiped in the dungeon.

Although It's a 10-man dungeon, the dungeons within Niflheim didn't require the maximum number of participants to raid it. Most people brought 10 though because without that number it would be extremely difficult to beat the dungeon.

After walking to the dungeon entrance, a mechanical voice spoke to their group.

"Would you like to challenge Normal, Hard, or Hell mode of the dungeon?"

There were three difficulties to the dungeon, and everyone right now was only stuck on normal mode, so one could imagine how intense Hell mode would be.

"Normal," Inferior stated.

After saying so, a simplistic looking door appeared before them, and they walked through. While the entrance to the dungeon looked like a cave, every dungeon required players to walk through a warp-door of sorts.

After walking through the door, their vision blurred before stabilizing again. After doing so, they immediately noticed the dark walls of the cave around them. There weren't any monsters yet, but since it was a dungeon, they were alert and looking around them ready for a fight. Of course, Michael and Runi weren't scared because this dungeon wouldn't be any more difficult than the walk getting there.

"Let's move forward," Inferior said. "I did some research on this place, and the monsters don't appear until you go forward a bit."

With that being said, the whole group, minus Michael and Runi, relaxed a bit and began to move forward, progressing into the dungeon.

After walking for around 2-3 minutes, they ran into the first group of monsters.

[Name: Cave Rat

Level: 5

Health: 400/400]

These were the simplest monsters in the cave, and there were only 5 monsters in the group. The group moved to dispatch them, but the Leader stopped them.

"Once we attack these Rats, they will call more of their companions here. While weak, they are able to destroy us with their numbers. We each need to be able to occupy one of them each. Since we have nine people with us, we'll split into groups of two, and Lone Ranger and Lone Sentinel can take 1 each. Anybody have any problems?"

Nobody voiced against the conclusion, so everyone moved to their designated posts. Before Michael left Runi, however, he whispered, "Try to conceal your strength. It would be tedious if people found out how much stronger you are than the average person."

"Understood."

They then finished moving to their respective locations, and Michael unsheathed a normal Longsword. This was the started sword that he received from the training village. He also wanted to conceal his strength, since it would be unfortunate if people found out he was so much stronger than them since they might think he's cheating.

"START!" Inferior shouted

Everyone moved to attack the rats, but when Michael swung his sword, he realized he had swung so hard that he had gutted the Rat instantly. They were simply too weak for him to even try to conceal his strength.

Runi's rat faired even worse, however, because even with him holding back, the rat basically disintegrated against the attacks. Thankfully, nobody had noticed since they were each in their own respective battles. Only after a short while, they made quick work of the rats, and they started to move towards where Michael and Runi were until they noticed that they were already sitting in the back waiting for them to finish.

"Where did your rats go?" someone asked.

"We killed them. Isn't that what you wanted us to do?" Michael questioned.

"How did you kill them so fast?" They just couldn't understand how Michael and Runi could finish off their rats individually when it took them at least a little bit of time while working in pairs.
