Chapter 10: Nina

As Michael walked forward, he began to move in between the crowd.

The people didn't notice him as he squeezed past them, but he had noticed that the people weren't humans. Some had wings, some had tails, and some had multiple eyes even. They were all at least 6 feet tall and each was fairly muscular or fit. He also noticed that mostly the women were wearing the hoods.

Besides these differing traits, however, they looked fairly human. Michael didn't know what they were though, because nobody had found the World of Old in the previous life.

Once Michael got just about to the front, he heard the speaker shouting again.

"We do not accept any insults about the King himself!" he announced.

This was met by a round of cheering from the crowd.

"Now who has any ideas on what we should do to this traitor?" The announcer asked, but this time in a quieter, more controlled voice.

Instantly, everyone's hands shot up and the announcer chose one at random.

The man instantly knelt before the announcer on the stage

"We should feed her to the ghouls in the Valley of Souls," One man said.

"Hmmm... too boring. Anyone else?" The announcer stated while looking around the crowd.

He chose another hand, this time a female.

"We should tear her limbs off then heal her and do it forever until she begs for death!" she said in a calm voice.

"Hmm... I like your idea. Let's go with that one," he declared.

Seeing that his time frame to save the girl was shrinking, Michael instantly walked forward and started talking to the man on the stage.

"I have a different suggestion," he stated

The man, who was walking back towards the girl, paused and turned around once hearing Michael's voice.

"Why aren't you on your knees?" The man asked.

"I have back problems whenever I kneel, but that's beside the point," he told the man.

Obviously, this was a lie, and was just biding his time.

"Let's hear it then," The man said.

" I think that we should give the girl to me because I can show her a whole new level of pain on a scale not yet seen by the denizens of this world."

The man stopped, then sighed in disappointment.

"I thought you would have some more spunk, but it appears I've been mistaken."

Finished with the conversation, the man started walking towards the girl once again.

Michael, however, was not finished, because he still needed to save that girl.

"I have another suggestion then. She seems to be timid and not like blood, so I'll slaughter all of you and bathe the town red in blood," Michael stated as he pulled out the Sword of Tatraya.

This time, everyone turned to look at Michael, as if he was some sort of mad man.

The announcer, however, started to sweat.

"Space Magic! What's a High Demon like yourself doing here?" the man asked.

"Time for discussion has ended. The time for killing is ripe you know," Michael stated as he dashed towards the man.

He swung his sword downwards, and in one clean swipe, cut the man's head off.

Instantly, Michael leveled up 8 times.

While Michael knew that the leader was a high leveled enemy, he didn't have an exact way to tell how high of a level they were since he didn't have an ability for it.

"Get Him!" someone had shouted amidst the crowd.

Instantly, every person in the audience grabbed the nearest weapon they could find, whether it was a sword strapped to their hilt, or a large rock they picked up from the ground, or even bare fists, they rushed at Michael fully intending to slaughter him.

'Now the real fun begins,' thought Michael as he furiously dashed between members of the crowd, blood splattering everywhere he went. From the girl's perspective, Michael was like a dash of light with a red rain following suit everywhere he went.

In just a few minutes, he had slaughtered every person in attendance, till it was just him and the girl left.

He walked up towards the girl and raised his sword.

Fully believing that she was going to be his next victim, she lowered her head as far as he shackled would allow her and she begged for mercy.

Luckily, when he swung down, she cut the shackles that were binding her, freeing her and allowing her to stand.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I'm fine. Thank you for saving me."

"Great," he said while putting away his sword. "Do you have a name?"

"Yes, it's Nina," she said.

"Nice to meet you, Nina. I'm Lucifer. How'd you end up in those shackles anyway?"

"Since I'm only part demon, the villagers never trusted me, and since I come from a poor family, I had to steal to get food. A few days ago, I had gotten caught and that's what got me here," the girl explained.

"So they were going to kill you just because you stole some food? That's a little harsh isn't it?"

"Well, we are demons after all."

'Demons? During all the time that the game was out previously, no demons were found or even reported. Could we really not have found a whole region?' Michael wondered.

"Well nevertheless, what'll you do now that you're safe?" he asked.

"Not sure. I've only ever lived in this village so I don't really have anywhere to go now," she explained.

As they talked, Michael noticed a small figure that was flying towards them. It looked like it was a person flying towards them with wings.

'Must be another Demon,' he thought to himself.

Not sure if they were going to fight him or not, he just turned around and waited.
