1 Volume I - Prologue: The Rise Of The Demon

A faint purple light radiated the huge purple magical crystal shard, and a transparent frame appeared within it.

Perceval could see a reflection of himself on the frame of the crystal. He was leading a horde of undead, and they were protecting a city — his city — repelling the human's army march that was advancing towards them.

Perceval watched the whole battle, and there was only one word to describe it; atrocious. Corpses of demons, corpses of corrupted beasts and monsters, and corpses of humans were spread everywhere on the battleground, the whole city was filled with the stench of blood.

But despite the equal number of losses both sides were suffering, the tide of the battle was more favourable towards the undead's side. It was only a matter of time before the human army get overwhelmed by the tremendous army of undead.

"Are you convinced, now?"

Perceval remained silent, not answering. His eyes did not move from the crystal, he was totally absorbed by the now one-sided battle, no… by the one-sided massacre within it.

"With the power bestowed by my lord, protecting your country is nothing but a piece of cake," the demon's lips curved in a smile. "Even conquering the world can be done without effortlessly."

What the demon offered to Perceval was tempting, it was an attractive invitation, and his heart was yearning for such incredibly strong power. But still… to pledge one's loyalty to a demon? They were the mortal enemies of all living beings, and the humans were not an exception to the rule.

"My lord is quite the very considerate, you see," the demon gently patted Perceval's shoulder with one of his arms as if they were long-time friends. "This is the only and last opportunity to accept," he said in a cold voice.

Perceval turned his head to look at the Demonic Contract Scroll, lost in thought. There was a dim dark purple magical energy that was leaking from it, but he did not dare to underestimate its might. He had seen it with his very own eyes.

'If I have this power…' unknowingly, as if he was hypnotised by the Demonic Contract Scroll, Perceval took one step towards it.

'That's right, come closer, my child.' Perceval heard a whisper in his head. It was the most beautiful voice he had ever heard in his whole life. No, beautiful was not even enough to describe… such a charming and exquisite voice.

*Gulp*

Perceval swallowed his saliva and took another step forward. 'Good, very good, my child,' said the woman's voice in a very soft tone. 'Now, seal the contract with your blood,' she whispered.

Perceval nodded his head. He was entirely blinded by the thirst for power and did not notice the demon's malicious intent behind him. He bit his right thumb and seal the Demonic Contract Scroll.

"Welcome your new power and become one of us!" Said the demon at the same time as Perceval sealed the contract.

The moment Perceval's thumb entered into contact with the Demonic Contract Scroll as if freed from his constraint, the dim purple dark energy was no longer there — it was now an immense purple dark energy that was bursting out of the parchment, and entered into Percival's body.

Perceval's body was changing. His entire human's skin was now covered by purple crystal, his eyes' pupils were now gleaming a red terrifying light — he became a demon.

'Perceval is now dead. I shall grant thee a new name,' an unknown mighty voice resounded inside Perceval's head. But he already knew whose voice it was. He knelt on the ground to swore his loyalty to his new master.

'From this day, thou are Sagazon.'

"Yes, my lord." Perceval, no, Sagazon gladly accepted his new name.

'Now, go and spread us army throughout the entire world!'

Sagazon silently acknowledged the first order of his new master. He stood up and started to leave the cavern.

His new destination, his city.
