1 The Door of Viaje (Epilogue)

"The Vadesh family has requested for you to join them for dinner tomorrow night." The handsome Master Feng stepped through the kitchen door to hand an elegant envelope to the olive beauty. His suit was a refined silver color made from an expensive material, with such wear Amira wondered why it would be so important for him to deliver this letter personally. He was a refined man, not from a noble house but he was a well esteemed business man known for selling expensive jewelery.

Master Feng was a reasonable man, logical, which was why most people in the capital enjoyed his company and bought his good. A widower of about ten years, women threw themselves at him. Deep blue eyes and streaks of white hair that complimented his age along strong jaw and build.

Amira was surprised to catch the master step into the kitchen. He would normally call for the person he was looking for by informing Crysta to fetch them.

The master's concerned expression peaked Amira's interest. "Meet me in my study when you've done all your work for tonight."

The master nodded, circled around on his toes and left leaving the envelope in Amira's hands. Amira was observant, her intuition was informing that the situation was no good, this letter did not come with good intentions. She opened the invitation reading the letters of a pleasing dinner with the Vadesh family. Amira lowered her head after reading these simple yet dreadful words. Could they know? But how, I've been careful...

The silence in the kitchen broke just seconds after the Master left, rumors flooded the kitchen from corner to corner. 'Do you really think she caught the eye of the young master for the Vadesh house?' 'She's a cook, she will never be his wife.' 'Look at her, I bet she's not even pure anymore. Beauties like her never learn.'

Amira paid these sad, petty women no mind. These women would never learn to mind there own business and keep to themselves. Instead of listening to such idiocy she resumed her cooking duties instinctively while her mind focused of the worse case scenarios of this dinner invitation.

Amira's strong ember eyes, long dark brown hair and she was average height intimidated many people. She wasn't known as a minsho, it was her secret from the world. Most magic holders that are born without money were taken from their families at birth and trained to protect the noble families. Minsho's are the people of the Mist, able to transform into a cloud of mist and inflict incredible amounts of damage. She is at the bottom of the chain, poor and untrained magic, as far as having powers were concerned, she kept her abilities hidden. For her and Leena's sake.

A thousand of years ago a great plague of dark magic purged the rest of the world, condensing the size of livable space within this world to a single country, Botus. Rulers from other nations gathered together at Botus after the down fall to the dead army to form the four great families that would keep the balance among this new world, also known as The Ley.

"Amira, is it true? Did you receive an invitation to dine with the Vadesh?" Leena swiftly approached Amira after entering the kitchen through the back door from the yard out back. Amira dropped her thoughts and gazed into her sisters beautiful ember eyes, her long wavy dark brown hair was in a ponytail and a patch of dirt sat on her face.

A smile appeared on Amira's face. To anyone else, this serious woman never smiled but when it came to her little sister, her happiness shined through her ember eyes and beyond. "I have been invited, it is tomorrow night."

Leena's eyes gleamed of happiness. Finally, we won't have to live as workers to a perverted old man. All the whispers stopped to listen to both sisters converse. Leena hated these sheep, unfortunately for her, she was on the same boat as they were. Working for rhe person with the money.

Leena and Amira were found by Master Feng at a very young age. Not being old enough at the time to remember a time before they lived in the Feng mansion, Leena's curious self always asked Amira about before. Where are their parents? Why was it just them two? When would they stop being workers? But Amira's response were always the same, silence.

"What are you looking at? Never seen a beauty like my sister before?" All the bitter women in the kitchen sneered then turned away after hearing Leena's words. She might be young but she sure was feisty.

Amira giggled, picking up a clean cloth to wipe the dirt of her twelve year old sister. "You are so sassy. I really wish that you--"

"Dinner time." The head housekeeper, Chrysta, waltzed into the kitchen, the workers all took a place at the table. Amira nodded taking the stack of plates to serve the workers one by one.

"Leena, make sure that the men working outside are ready to eat in ten minutes." Chrysta tilted her chin upwards in disgust of the two beautiful sisters, such filth, she thought. Without wasting more time in concerning herself about them she took her seat at the head of the table.

Leena's unpleasant face gave her sister a quick goodbye look and headed out the door into the back yard.

For the time being all the able male workers were in the yard constructing a huge gazebo for the Master. He wanted to make some sort of flower garden in the middle of his back yard to honor his late wife. At least that's what he would tell everyone who asked. Leena had snuck around enough time to know that he had been fooling around with Crysta, and other woman who service him as workers. Her hunch was that he was making this gazebo to find a more shameless way to spend time with these women who, in her opinion, seemed desperate and lonely in their marriage.

"Hey little girl, is it almost dinner time?" A gorgeous man with honey colored eyes and jet black hair patted Leena's head. Leena's cheeks blushed bright red matching the red flowers beside her, they were waiting to be planted and she was waiting to disappear in her embarrassment. She's had a crush on Eric since she had first met him two years ago. He was kind, funny, gentle, sweet and caring.

Sadly, he was five years older than her, eighteen, and he only had eyes for Amira. At this point who doesn't, Leena thought. She's a delicate beauty with long dark hair and a bomb figure.

"Yeah, Chrysta told me to inform you all that dinner will be ready soon." Eric turned around with the most dazzling smile on his face. "You hear that boys, it's almost dinner time."

The crowd of men roared in cheers and dropped what they were doing to wash up with the hose before dinner.

"There isn't anything left...." Leena checked the pots and pans to find them empty. As the only workers loathed by Chrysta in the household, their picking was always last, sometimes they didn't have the opportunity to eat since they were always served till the very end.

Amira walked to a cabinet in the of the kitchen corner. "I saved you a plate." She took out a well stacked plate with chicken, beans, rice and even the desert rice pudding that she made that day.

"Did you eat already?" Amira smiled at her sisters question before she disappeared into mist and reappeared with a plate full of food in her hand. "THAT WAS SO COOL!!!!"

"Shhhhhhh." Amira gentle pressed her slim finger to her lips. Once they heard that no one paid them any mind with their noise, Amira and Leena began to eat.

"I'm getting a better grip on these powers of mine." She opened and closed her hands into a fist a couple of times before looking up to see her sisters distraught face. "What's wrong?"

Leena put her spoon down keeping her eyes facing down. "If I had magic like you, I wouldn't be a burden and we would be able to leave this place. Become soldiers and actually live better than just mere house workers. "

Amira reached for Leena's hand, she felt her frustration but she needed to find and do things on her own in the mean time. For both their sakes. "Soon. I have a feeling that tomorrow at the dinner with the Vadesh, it's about my magic." Leena's eyes jolted up, "Do you think--"

"Oh, here you are." Both girls looked towards the entrance of the kitchen door leading into the mansion. Startled with the figure standing under the door frame they looked over to simply place an indifferent look onto their faces.
