10 The Door of Viaje (10)

"What do you mean he won't see me? It was my idea to find the door so that I could keep Leena safe." Amira was arguing with Kreighton.

Through the last few days there was dead air between Eric and Kreighton, though now Kreighton was uninterested in Amira Eric wouldn't believe it. To him no one could compare to her so naturally, as her guard he would let Kreighton get close to Amira which is why he spoke to her from afar. "Look Amira, the fortune teller doesn't want to see you. Only Leena. He's doing it for free so the least we can do is comply."

Leena wasn't interested in the very confusing love triangle Eric seems to believe he's in when the one he should be worrying about is Izak but Izak could care less about Amira. Amira gave off a frustrated stare in Leena direction but the truth was, it wasn't her fault. To Amira, Leena was taking everything she wanted, everything she worked hard for. It was slipping away from her grasp and onto Leena's feet. It wasn't Leena's fault Izak had asked her hand in marriage but she did try hard to keep them separated to Keep her heart on check. I wasn't Leena's fault that the fortune teller would only see her but Amira had put so much effort into looking for him throughout all these years and now he only wanted to see Leena.

She sighed and accepted that things just have to be this way. Why do things have to be so damn complicated?

"I'll see this man alone. There's no need to worry, I'll be fine. I'll get the answers I seek." Nothing else needed to be said. The child has spoken and she made her own decisions, lord help that she makes the right decisions.

"Please, be careful." A concerned Izak appeared in Leena's peripheral but she chose not to look at him, she was in no position to accept the heart he was willing to give. In her eyes, she was about to leave this world and everything, everyone in it. Her silence spoke volumes to him. Her moved aside and watched the girl slip into the house.

"You hold power that is far beyond what anyone in this world can control, you are not just a Fiena but a breed of powers combined far beyond those of this realm. What is it that you seek?" A male voice echoed in the darkness of the room. Unable to see or hear anything, Leena paused in her tracks.

"I seek a way to to travel into the door of viaje." Leena decided to trust Amira's words and her mothers hope for her. She spoke about how her mother wanted her and their family to pass through the door to live a happy and simple life. "Can you help me?"

In Leena's heart, as long as he said no, she would keep looking. It was her mission to follow her mothers wishes and live a normal peaceful life without being hunted. "I can but I will need a piece of your soul. Then and only then will I be able to read you your fate that lies ahead. The place beyond the door is only a fraction of the destinations you must reach to truly discover who you are. The peace you seek of is not in your future."

"Step forward." The voice was calm, never wavering. How could he take something from me when he wasn't even here. It dawned on Leena that fortune tellers were incredibly rare, even in a world full of magic so would she be able to find a fortune teller in the next world?

A glow radiated from Leena's chest after stepping forward. "This pendant is protecting you from being harmed. That is good it will keep you safe in many battles to come, may you please remove it so that I may continue." Leena followed his directions and removed the pendant.

Her soul was bright and emanating from her chest. In truth, the fortune teller had never see such a strong soul, he would have loved to keep such a spirit but he understood that she was destined to move forward so he took a piece and put her soul back in place. He must discover more than what he already knows, it interests him, such a powerful being that could possible destroy the magic realms altogether. Keeping her here would be a sin, She must see for herself what needs to be seen.

"It is done." Leena watched as the brightness of her soul drifted back into her body.

"Will you be telling me my fate now?" Leena was curious. This man sought out by hundreds and thousands of people just so that he may speak to them about their fate. She wonders if any of his words found be true and bear fruit to her reality.

"No.. it is far too dangerous. Just know that you are strong and on your way this pendant will keep you safe. Take this." A piece of parchment was summoned right in front of Leena, its gentle glow surrounding it. "In here you will find the location of the stones you seek to create the Door of Viaje. Good luck and farewell."

The voice disappeared and a light beamed throughout the room partially blinding Leena for a second. "What about my fate?" Nothing, the voice was gone. It was an empty room, not even a roach or a rat. Leena looked down at the parchment with hope, she locked her pendant back on and walked out of the small house.

"What did he say?" Amira noticed the paper in her hands and gave Leena a genuine smile. "Is that it? Will we finally be able to go through the door?"

It hurt Leena's heart. Why is it that no matter how sweet and gentle she seems to her, everything felt like a trick? Choosing to believe her about this door, to Leena this would be a new, fresh start for both of them, she was her cousin after all so she hoped for the best. "Yes. This is the map to all the stones needed to make the door."

A month passed since they began their search for the stones. Kreighton went back to his family after the first week but promised the remain loyal to Leena, he would be awaiting her return. Izak appreciated his loyalty but he still felt an unnerving feeling whenever he noticed the way Kreighton look at her.

It didn't take long after for Amira to cozy up to Eric, she tried to make Izak jealous but he never bothered to look. Amira was beginning to give up hope and genuinely enjoying her time with Eric. The awkward atmosphere was shaping into a friendlier one among the four and Amira felt it was time to share stories with Leena. She told her about her childhood with her parents and how they used to live in the woods east of the Feng masion.

Leena listened and grew more attentive to the words spoken to her by her cousin. She wanted to remember every detail to try and produce a mental image but she never could. To Leena, Amira was calculative. Everything she said might be fake but she wanted to give her the opportunity and left her back into her life. Leena felt like such a naive little girl before but now she felt more in control of her emotions and desires.

"According to the map the last stone should be here." Izak pointed to the patch of tall grass that surrounded the field, there wasn't a since of any stone.

"Maybe we have to dig." Leena stated, setting her things down to find anything suitable to help her scoop up the dirt.

"Why don't you just command the dirt to remove itself?" Eric was giving an intelligent suggestion since the only Lokath they had, Kreighton, had left the group but something about what he said made Leena snap.

"You think I'm a puppet? To just let you and everyone else tell me what to do because I have power?" Leena's body trembled but everyone stood shocked at her response. Why was she suddenly getting riled up? He was asking a very simple question.. "I am sorry. I don't know why I got so upset."

She quickly removed the dirty until the noticed the blue colored stone on the ground. A small smirk appeared on her lips then turned and walked off into the distance. Izak followed behind her, he was worried. For as long as he's known her she wasn't this quick tempered even when she was upset with Amira. "You can talk to me you know."

Leena wasn't willing to open up, not to him, not to Amira and definitely not to Eric. "I just need to be alone. Let me know when the door is complete please."

It took a total of forty-five minutes for Leena to walk back to the group and see the stoned placed in a circle but nothing was happening. "There needs to be some sort of offering to enter the door." Amira remembered this piece of information from that Kreighton had told her. "It can't just be something you like, it have to be something or someone you love."

Izak had this basic knowledge, the door of viaje is a long standing mystery to everyone but they also knew that a sacrifice had to be made in order to pass through. Leena understood that this sacrifice had to be big, something precious and for the time being she didn't have one. Her mind and heart were too confused even about the people surrounding her to really hone in on something special to her. "We'll make camp. I'll try to figure out what we can offer the door."

Night fell quickly and just as Leena's eyes were closing, a gentle shove was waking her. "Leena, the door is open. Hurry! We have to go now."

Leena's dazed eyes found Amira's determined face. "But we still need to find something to sacrifice."

Amira didn't respond instead she dodged the question. "I made the sacrifice." Leena was dazed and lost, what sacrifice could she have possibly made? She lifted herself onto your feet walking in front of the door and looked around to see Eric asleep but where was Izak?

"Where is Izak?" Leena began to suspect something strange in her gut and in her heart. She reclaimed to Amira. "Where is Izak?"

To Amira's liking, Leena gave her an opportunity to push her into the portal without saying another word. Amira had sacrificed the love of her life to give Leena a chance to be normal and she wasn't about to waste it. She begged that one day she would see him in her next life and have him forgive her.

"Goodbye." She said as she stepped through the portal.
