17 It is time... (4)

Clain narrowed his eyes like a hawk trying to search for the girl he had watched sleep for five years. It was a busy day in the city, a resting day that most people take to spend time with loved ones, naturally people were out enjoying their time together. Crowds and crowds of people blocked a clean view throughout the market. Clain paced himself from one side of the market to another but didn't see a hint of Cindy or Kavira anywhere.

His focus was so sharp in trying to spot light auburn hair that he didn't notice when a beautiful girl with golden hair and gray eyes appeared next to him. Nyla took notice of Clain as soon as he entered the market, she tried following his gaze to spark some recognition in him to say hello but he paid her no mind and walked away numerous times before she became fed up.

"Must be something important if you can't even see me and say hello." Nyla was beyond annoyed but she couldn't help but feel at ease in the presence of this man. Clain was four years older than her so he caught her attention at a very young age, to him, he still saw the little girl that used long straw sticks to spar with Linx.

"Hello Nyla, I'm a bit busy. Excuse me." Clain walked off leaving the center of the market behind, his head still turning side to side trying to find someone or something.

"I guess he wasn't interested in having small talk with you." Linx came up from behind Nyla handing her a fruit stick that was lightly cooked with sugar. "Must be tough always being second." Nyla's fierce expression scared Linx as he giggled himself away from her.

By the time Linx and Nyla reached the Fei house, they found their middle aged father in the dining table with two guest. Cindy Lou, the green elder fairy that was a long time friend of their fathers and the other was a girl of about their age with light auburn hair and glistening emerald eyes.

Master Fei's gray eyes saw the pair walk into the house completely curious of what was going on in the dining room. "Linx, Nyla, come in here for a second please."

Every time the Master had guest over they would avoid running into the house from the front but this time they were glad they were called upon unexpectedly. They were both curious about this girl and just as Linx predicted, they brought her to the Fei house.

The two made their way into the dining room each standing on either side of the master. "Kavira, I would like you to meet my youngest daughter ,Nyla, and adopted son, Linx." Kavira looked at Linx with a lost expression. To her this man felt oddly familiar, his deep blue eyes, jet black hair the only thing that seemed different saw the stubble that gave him a more desirable intake.

Cindy had mentioned that she had a blood bond with Clain, so why did she somehow feel connected to Linx?

Linx was surprisingly taken aback by Kavira's beauty. He had seen many pleasant maidens in his day, having laid with some of them but this girl in particular felt like an old love. He was sure he had never met or seen her before but his body said otherwise. He then trailed his gaze down to her neck to find a pendant, the beam of light it produced when he finally saw it surprised him. Master Fei and Cindy continued their conversation about how she would like Kavira to train with the pair to master the true warrior skills.

No one else noticed the beam or even commented on the pendant, his gaze was stuck on the firm until Kavira finally reached for it cutting his focus. She concluded that he could see the beam around the stone of the necklaces the way she could, but how? Other than fairy healing powers, there was no magic left in this world.
