7 A Battle to Move Forward

The goblins had begun rushing Hoshi from all sides. He was greatly outnumbered, but not outpowered. At least that's what Hoshi hoped.

As the goblins rushed closer, Hoshi held his shield closer and prepared to defend and counterattack.

The first goblin to get within swinging distance of Hoshi was carrying an ax.

The goblin swung the ax in the air and began to slash it downwards to Hoshi.

Hoshi reacted quickly, expecting this sort of attack, rose his shields above his head, blocked the attack, and threw the goblin back, further than the other goblins.

Seeing this the other goblins stood in shock for a moment only to once again start rushing Hoshi.

Hoshi didn't know who would hit first. The remaining five goblins closest to him were on all his sides.

This time quick thinking saved him. Hoshi decided to turn in the direction where there were the most goblins - two, exactly and that was on his right.

One was carrying a club and the other, a spiked shield.

The goblin with the spiked shield thrust forward against Hoshi, only for him to be stopped, by Celestial StarBlaze - Hoshi's sword, which sliced through the weak wooden shield, going far enough to cut the goblin who had been wielding it.

At the same time, Hoshi had taken the shield and placed it in front of the goblin with the club. The club collided with the shield blocking most of the damage, but this time pushing Hoshi back, since he could not put his full effort into defending, leaving Hoshi in the open for an attack.

As soon as Hoshi was hit, another goblin, with a club, managed to get a hit in while Hoshi was in the open. Hoshi was pushed forward by the impact.

Hoshi was being pushed around the goblins. He managed to block most of the hits, but the ones that did get through did a lot of damage. Hoshi was in a rough spot and needed to get out of it.

First off, he needed to defeat the two goblins in front of him. One of them had been disarmed, but the second one still had his ax. Luckily the goblin that Hoshi had thrown back was still out cold. Behind him were another two goblins. One with a club and one with an ax. There his number one priority was disarming the ax-wielding goblin as he was the most dangerous.

It was time to put his plan in motion.

As the goblins were continuing to clobber him, Hoshi gripped his sword tighter and lifted it up into the air. Then he swung it down on to the weaponless goblin, slicing him in two.

From there, the goblin next to him was left open for a moment and Hoshi didn't take a moment to swing his blade right back to him, continuing the momentum. Unlikely for Hoshi, the goblin managed to throw his club between him and the sword, but when the sword collided with the club, both weapons smashed into the goblin sending him flying into the mountain's wall.

The next moment Hoshi felt a sharp pain in his back. Hoshi turned his head where the pain came from and saw the goblin's ax lodged fairly deep in his back. This was not good.

As it would be unwise to leave such a wound open Hoshi reacted quickly. Cutting of the ax's handle and quickly spinning around.

Hoshi was bleeding, but he didn't have time to treat the wound. All Hoshi could do was defeat the two goblins which were left.

The only goblin who still had the weapon - the goblin with a club, yelled in anger as he swung his club at Hoshi.

The goblin did nothing though because Hoshi had skillfully placed the shield in between the two enemies. Hoshi pushed the goblin back as he swung his sword at the second goblin.

In a moment the two remaining enemies had been defeated.

Hoshi had won the fight.
