How does one survive in the apocalypse when you are the only one who sees the sign of a useless struggle? The answer is simple in the end, you just get with the program and let fate run its course.

From the moment I realized that my mother was willing to shoot me for trying to at least save one person, I came to the realization that surviving with her was akin to becoming like her. Someone who is willing to let fear overwrite their humanity and become nothing more than a coward hiding away in a bunker. The moment I saw her true colors was the moment that I came to the same conclusion that if we were what remained of humanity, we were sure to meet our end sooner than later. Why not just accept the inevitable and get it over with.
