Universal Guardians Public Beta Test Server

Daniel streamed again and again for three more days, each over five hours long. Daniel showed his skills in gaming, and Thunderbird, the second of the Thirteen Gaming Divinities, paled in comparison.

At his last stream.

Daniel thanked in the languages he learned, and then said.

"This will be the last stream for the month. We're gonna have to prepare for Inferno Entertainment's official public beta of their newest game Universal Guardians. This will be goodbye for now, but of course, we'll meet again in Spasm, on social media, and on WatchTube. Daniel here, out." Daniel saluted at the camera, before the stream finished.

This was, obviously, a promotional content for Inferno Entertainment. He will review the current Universal Guardians, as it is released to the general public. However, it is said that only the first 50 levels of player levels will be unlocked.

This is also the first sponsorship of Inferno Entertainment from Daniel, and his first ever sponsorship as Daniel. Of course, as Phantom God, he is sponsored by many companies, but, Daniel promised Inferno Entertainment that he will be their spokesperson, of course, this comes with the sponsorship.

Daniel drafted a contract with Inferno Entertainment as their company spokesperson, as well as the agreement of being their sole spokesperson, and representative. Of course, Vince agreed with this contract immediately, after all, it's Phantom God, and his old friend, Daniel.

And, although the sponsorship, and being the spokesperson of such a company was not released to the public, it is easily speculated that Daniel is now the current spokesperson of Inferno Entertainment.

And of course, the reporters reported this meticulously.

...

A day after the stream, Inferno Entertainment finally released Universal Guardians to the public.

However, as the rumors said, it currently only presented the first 50 levels available for players, and there are only three planets currently available, as well as the first station of the Guardian's Space Den, which is located at System A-02 at the Milky Way Galaxy.

There were currently 100 servers which can accommodate millions of players each. They created 100 servers because of the advertising effect that Phantom God brought. They expected to see hundreds of millions of players, and of course, that actually happened!

The current status of Phantom God in the gaming community rose up even more after he revealed himself, he gained even more fans, especially young ladies that were attracted to his handsomeness.

Then, Daniel went through the familiar character creation screen.

He chose another race other than Imagonum. He thought that being in the shadows will actually be pretty boring, of course, he can play an Imagonum warrior, but he didn't want to.

He chose the Adamanteus race in the end.

The three special skills that can be chosen were Hardening, Gigantification, and Rage Burst.

Hardening increases the defense stat of the player by 500%, and will become even more durable.

Gigantification increases their body size by 200%, increasing their strength, defense, and vitality by 300%, but decreasing their agility by 50%, and increasing their stamina consumption by twice.

Rage Burst increases all of their stats by 250%, and their energy and stamina becomes infinite, and the cooldown of their skills will be lowered to two seconds, however, after the duration, their stats will also be weakened by 70%, and they will not be able to use energy skills, and their stamina will also decrease by 50% and their stamina usage will be doubled for five minutes.

Daniel chose Rage Burst, as the increase on stats is extremely high. No matter how he looks at it, the power of Rage Burst makes Gigantification and Hardening seem obsolete and useless, but of course, he only thinks so trivially. He, with all his gaming knowledge, knows that the Gigantification, and Hardening are good boosts for tankers, like paladins and defenders.

Name: Adamanteus

Body Type: Humanoid

Description: Adamanteuses are extremely powerful beings. Their physical abilities are extremely high, however, not like other 'barbaric' races, they are pretty intellectual. Their planet of origin has an extremely high gravity, which is ten times more powerful than the gravity of Earth, thus resulting in an even more powerful body when outside their home planet. Adamanteuses also have high temperature resistance because of their innately powerful bodies, and their blood can be awakened to grant even more power than normal. Other than their demonic physique, they also have the power to control gravity around them. They can also create a natural armor made out of energy for special usage, it is just like regular armor.

Racial Skills: Adamanteus' Physique, Gravitational Adaptation, Extreme Temperature Resistance, Blood Awakening, Gravitational Field, Energy Armor.

Special Skills: Hardening, Gigantification, Rage Burst

Then Daniel allocated his 150 stats points, which was raised from 100 stat points from the beta test.

His allocation was as such (There were a default of 10 each stat points, not included in the 150 stat points).

Strength: 58 - Increases attack power

Agility: 36 - Increases movement speed and attack speed

Toughness: 49 - Decreases damage received from attacks

Energy: 20 - Increases character's Battle Energy Damage with Battle Energy skills

Stamina: 20 - Increases Stamina

Vitality: 17 - Increases HP

Wisdom: 20 - Increases Energy

The current base HP for a newly created character is 500 HP, and increases by 500 per level, and it increases by 50 points per point in vitality, so currently, Daniel's character had 1,350 HP. The base Energy of a level 1 character is 200, and increases by 100 per level, and it increases by 20 points per point in Wisdom, so his current Energy is 600. Stamina base is 10, and increases by 5 each level up, and increases by one per point in Stamina, resulting in 30 stamina.

Because of the Racial Bonus, he gets 20 additional stat points on strength, 20 points on toughness, and 10 points on his agility stat.

Because of the racial skill, Adamanteus' Physique, his Strength, Agility, Toughness, and Stamina stat increases by ten each level up, and the racial skill also gives out a base of another fifteen stat points for those four stat points at the starting level, resulting in this:

Strength: 93

Agility: 61

Toughness: 84

Energy: 20

Stamina: 35

Vitality: 17

Wisdom: 20

He then proceeded to select his classes and found out that the Specializations system was removed.

'Too bad', he thought, 'it gives so much stats as well.'

He then decided to choose the Warrior class, but then saw another class he was fascinated with.

It was the Swordsman class. Although the Warrior class is also pretty much the same as the Swordsman class, this was not the case, since the Warrior class had the Melee Weapons Mastery, meaning, it can also use spears, axes, halberds, maces, and as such, meanwhile, the Swordsman class only have the Swords Mastery, which is inferior to the Melee Weapons Mastery in terms of versatility, but gives much more bonus damage when the character is using a sword than the Melee Weapons Mastery.

He chose the Swordsman class.

It then gave additional stat points, which is 20 in the strength stat, 20 in the toughness stat, 20 in the vitality stat, and 20 in the agility stat, and 20 in the agility stat.

Then the input username screen appeared.

Daniel inputted Phantom God.

Then, his Status Window appeared.

-Continue?-

"Do you accept?" the robotic voice said in his headphones, at the same time as the notification window for confirmation window appeared.

Daniel clicked yes, and it teleported him to the tutorial.

It was the same training at the beta test, but this time, the monster he needed to defeat was a Highland Gorilla, and he was presented with choices instead of a regular Energy Dagger at the beginning.

He needed to choose a sword type specialization, and he chose a one hand claymore. He then received a Swordsman's Claymore as a starter weapon, and Starter's Clothes as starter armor.

Then, he learned the Swordsman's Pre-Class Advancement Skill Tree, the level one skill being Thrust, which ignores 50% of the target's defense, but only has the power of a basic attack, and consumes 100 Energy with a cooldown of 10 seconds.

Daniel then made his character teleport to a distant planet called Gormont. He appeared in the beginner kingdom, the Darik Kingdom.

He didn't get quests immediately, instead, he went out of the kingdom. He saw myriads of players in the hunting grounds for Gormontian Rabbits, which are vicious creatures compared to Earth's rabbits, and a regular human would be terrified if they were faced with it.

The Gormontian Rabbits has an average level of level two, and they are easily hunted by the level one players.

Daniel wasn't satisfied with the current situation, so he went further. He then reached a forest called the Enigmatic Forest. Once he entered, he saw a pack of four Level 7 Gormontian Direwolves.

Daniel smiled in real life, and he went to fight these Level 7 Gormontian Direwolves.

He crushed them with his sword, but of course, the stat difference was still something else. Daniel almost died because of the Gormontian Direwolves. Good thing he used the Gravitational Field, which increased the gravity within ten meters by two times the current gravity, halving the physical stats (1) of enemies, and giving them the slow debuff.

It was extremely useful, however, it consumed an energy point per second of activation, and after being deactivated, it has a cooldown of five seconds before being able to activate again.

The good thing was that he has a pretty high Wisdom stat, for a beginner Adamanteus Swordsman that is.

After hunting the pack of Gormontian Direwolves, he leveled up four times, and acquired forty stat points.

He allocated his stat points mostly to strength, and defense, and agility, as well as some vitality, and wisdom.

His status window currently looked like this:

Username: Phantom God

Level: 5

Race: Adamanteus

Racial Skills: Adamanteus' Physique, Gravitational Adaptation, Extreme Temperature Resistance, Blood Awakening, Gravitational Field, Energy Armor.

Special Skill: Rage Burst

Skills Learned: Thrust, Swift Strikes

Class: Swordsman

Stats:

HP: 4250

Energy: 1,000

Stamina Points: 135

Strength: 163

Agility: 126

Toughness: 161

Energy: 20

Stamina: 95

Vitality: 45

Wisdom: 20

Titles: None

Unallocated Stat Points: 0

He got 100 Intergalactic Currency, or IGC after selling the Direwolves' drops of fangs, hide, eyeballs, and Soul Crystals.

He then bought better gear for a level 5 swordsman, after all, even if you're the best player, without good gear, you won't be able to exert 100% of your skills, that also applies to Daniel. Of course, Daniel can beat an overgeared (2) person with regular equipment if the equipment of the overgeared person is considered average for an overgeared person, however, even if it's Daniel, he can't beat an overgeared person that has so overpowered equipment that transcends common sense unless he also have an equipment with the same capabilities!

This is the power of items! Items supplement skills, and skills supplement equipment! Without good equipment, you can't use 100% of your skills, and without good skills, you can't use your items 100% of their potential!

This is the synergy between skills and equipment! That's why Daniel never underestimated an overgeared person ever in his life. It's the survival of the fittest in games, you should always be alert and never underestimate someone. Of course, it's inevitable to underestimate someone if you're at the level of Daniel, but Daniel tries to overcome this flaw, and try to keep the mindset of not underestimating people!

This is the true mindset of a good gamer, being ruthless even if your opponent is a level 1 player whereas you're a level 100 player! As said, it is the survival of the fittest in all games, especially in the current era of gaming! Even if it's considered bullying, one should never underestimate an enemy and do the best of your capabilities to defeat them even if they're lower leveled than you! Of course, you should not use all of your skills right away, what if the opponent knew that you would use your ultimate skill on a weak player, and exploited that mentality to send a decoy and you used your ultimate skill on that decoy, then the opponent attacked you with hundreds of enemies?

That's why you should balance everything, it's sometimes good to underestimate your enemies, and it's sometimes good to overestimate your enemies, but it's not always the case!

This is the truth of gaming, and is Daniel's number one principle. This is how he became the Phantom God, because when he's playing a game, for example, LoL, Daniel always does his best even if his opponent is Iron IV (3)

Daniel bought an Adventurer's Claymore, which is a claymore for level 5, of the common rating. In Universal Guardians, there are five ratings of equipment, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare, and Legendary. It is a very common equipment for Level 5 Swordsmen, and of course, nobody has reached level 5 yet as they can't hunt Level 7 Gormontian Direwolves like Daniel did. Only Daniel, with his miraculous stats distribution which is extremely suitable for his class, and his racial skills, and special skill, Rage Burst, gave him the ability to hunt level 7 monsters while only at level 1.

The information for the Adventurer's Claymore are as following:

Name: Adventuerer's Claymore

Rarity: Common

Type: Sword (Claymore)

Requirements: Level 5, 50 strength, Melee-Weapon Oriented Class (i.e., Warrior, Swordsman, Knight)

Damage: 500

Effects: None

Sell Price: 5 IGC

The power and weight of the sword is pretty descent, Daniel did not buy any armor anymore as he can always use the racial skill of the Adamanteus, Energy Armor, it will just consume a bit of Energy.

Daniel then bought boots for 10 IGC.

The boots' name is the Boots of Speed

Name: Boots of Speed

Rarity: Common

Type: Boots

Requirements: Level 5

Armor: +5

Effects: Agility +10

Sell Price: 10 IGC

Daniel then proceeded to the Guardian's Space Den at System A-02. He then got a quest for a Level 5 Guardian.

The quest information are as follows:

Quest Name: Direwolf Hunt

Difficulty: A+ (Adjusted to user's level)

Requirement: At Least Level 5

Mission: Kill 100 Gormontian Direwolves (0/100), Bring 100 Gormontian Direwolf Soul Crystal (0/100)

Rewards: 500 IGC, 10,000 EXP , Gormontian Accessories Package (Level 5)

Soul Crystals are a drop of monsters that can be sold, or be made into accessories like rings, and necklaces.

In Universal Guardians, there are five equipment slots. These are the helmet, torso armor, gauntlets, leg armor, and boots. There are also fifteen accessory slots, which are ten rings, two bracelets, a necklace, pauldrons, and belt.

Daniel only wears basic equipment for his five basic armor slots, and no accessories whatsoever.

Daniel easily completed the quest after buying the Adventurer's Claymore, and the Boots of Speed. He was able to dodge all of the attacks of the direwolves without even getting hit once.

After that, he leveled up for five more times, including the 10,000 EXP reward.

His current power is out of reach for level 10 players, where only ten players reached the level 10 at this absurdly short amount of time.

Daniel only played the game for two hours, yet he was already level 10! One should know that going to Level 2 required 1000 EXP, then going from Level 2 to Level 3 required 2,500 EXP, then level 4, 5,000, then level 5, 10,000, then level 6, 15,000, then level 7, 20,000, then level 8, 25,000, then level 9, 30,000, then level 10, 35,000! How did Daniel do this?

By grinding level 11 monsters! While on the Enigmatic Forest, he was not just hunting Gormontian Direwolves for his quest. He was also hunting Forestoriums, a tree that became alive and is now trying to destroy the Darik Kingdom.

Forestoriums are Level 15 in average, and Daniel was casually hunting one right now, in fact, he was hunting five Forestoriums at once!

After reaching level 5, he learned the level 5 skill of the Swordsman's Pre-Class Advancement Skill Tree, which is the Swift Strikes.

Swift Strikes increases attack speed by 25%, and increases damage by 10% for 5 minutes. It can also be used with other skills. It has a cooldown of 1 minute, and an energy consumption of 250.

Daniel used this technique every time, and killed a Forestorium each time, with the combination of skills, and stats, Daniel treated the Forestoriums as mini-bosses and even killed one every minute!

However, he was currently in a 'predicament, ' because of the Forestoriums. Because of Daniel disturbing the forest, a special event happened, and the Enigmatic Forest became crowded with Forestoriums!

'If only I picked assassin....' Daniel thought to himself. If he picked the Imagonum assassin that he wanted, he may have been able to escape from this current predicament. But, of course, he quickly got rid of this thought.

He was currently a Swordsman! And what is a swordsman specialized in? It was power! He needed a barbaric mindset to become a good swordsman!

Daniel would seem like a madman right now, but he was actually acting like a barbarian and hunted the Forestoriums at once!

This is the current situation he was in.

After three more hours, Daniel was able to kill tens of Forestoriums, his health was currently below 10% because of the constant damage he received. Although his agility stat was pretty high, he was still hit by some ranged attacks of Forestoriums because of the constant downpour of them.

They just never run out!

Finally, at his 50th Forestorium, a special event happened again!

The Enigmatic Forest kicked out all players in it, and returned them to Darik Kingdom. How? It was done by the Goddess of the Enigmatic Forest!

The goddess appeared in front of Daniel, and talked to him.

"You! Why do you disturb this once peaceful forest?" The goddess asked.

Daniel answered truthfully, "To grind."

"What? To grind? Your killing all of these Forestoriums, which are the guardians of the Enigmatic Forest, to grind?" The goddess asked in an obviously angry tone.

Daniel was surprised. Is this really an AI, why did it seem like he was talking to a human?

Daniel then said, "Yes, I'm sorry if I have disturbed the forest, I'll be leaving now." Daniel said, before turning around shamelessly.

The Goddess stopped him. "What are you doing? Did I allow you to leave?" The goddess then waved her hands, and roots started to wrap around Daniel's characters ankles.

Damn! Was this really a game? Why did it seem like the AI was ACTUALLY taking to Daniel? Daniel's skin shivered. Is this a bug? Daniel thought to himself.

"You..." The goddess said. "Are strong. For killing my Forestoriums, you should pay. Now, you need to do this..." The goddess said.

Daniel smelled a quest, and sure enough, it was!

Quest Name: The Corrupted Goddess

Difficulty: S+ (Adjusted to user's level)

Requirement: Killed 50 Forestoriums during the Forestorium Myriad Wave Event, the recognition of the Goddess of the Enigmatic Forest

Mission: Go to the center of the Enigmatic Forest, and find the Corrupted Castle. Kill the Corrupted Goddess that is in the castle.

Quest Reward: Goddess' Claymore, Blessing of the Goddess of Enigmatic Forest, and Five Levels.

"As you can see, I'm not in my full form. I've been corrupted by a dark mage, thus resulting in Forestoriums becoming aggressive to people who hunts in these forests, if you do this for me, I'll surely compensate you." The Goddess said, her eyes looked desperate.

Daniel was very shocked right now. Is this still a game? Although it was not virtual reality, Universal Guardians was in first person, and the character is hard to control, the physics are also very on point.

And now this? Human-like AI? Isn't this something else?

Daniel replied, "Okay, I'll get rid of the Corrupted Goddess for you and free you of your misery." Naturally, Daniel overcame his shock, and accepted the quest.

This was something he didn't want to pass up, actually, no one would dare to pass this up! Except for the difficulty of the quest, the reward of five levels is so high that anyone's greed will be ignited!

Of course, Daniel had a different purpose. He wanted a challenge for once! And this S+ quest is just something he needed.

For some of you who can't see the fairness of the stat points distribution system in the game, I'll explain it here:

Each player gets 150 free stat points at the start, with 10 more free stat points already distributed in all the stats (Which equates to 70 stat points, and is not included in the 150 more stat points). Meaning, all new players get 220 stat points at the start.

Secondly, the racial bonus always gives out a total of 50 stat points in selected stats, it can be distributed evenly on five stats, or four stats, or three stats, like the Adamanteus. After that, the racial skill that adds bonus stats, it gives a total of 40 stat points each level up, it can also be distributed evenly, but at level 1, it gives out a total of 60 stat points on the stat points it increases. If we add all the current stats we have so far, a character has 330 stat points in total at level 1.

Lastly, all classes gives out a total of 100 bonus stat points, the distribution depends on the class. All in all, all level 1 players have 430 stat points at the start, this is true for all characters.

Then, each level up, the racial skill will give out a total of forty stat points distributed on different stats, while a player gets ten free stat points, which results in 50 stat points each level up.

1. Physical Stats - Refer to combat-related stats, which is strength, agility, toughness, and stamina.

2. Overgeared - Korean slang for a gamer that relies on the power of items instead of skills. There's also a novel that is named Overgeared, and yes, I've read it, it's a good novel and is one of the best gaming novels out there, well, for me anyways.

3. League of Legends Ranks - There's currently no Iron rank in the game, but in Season 9, there's a rumor, or news, that the five divisions on each rank will be shortened to four divisions, and there will be Iron Rank, which is lower than Bronze Rank, and a Grandmaster Rank, which is higher than Master Rank. The current ranks are as follows: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Challenger, with five division each, except for Master, and Challenger, which is simply a ranking.
