Li Bao, after excreting her waste products in the toilet, rushed towards the dining area. She was hungry and thirsty, being asleep for two days. Who wouldn't be?

She had a sweaty look on her face, after just having left the toilet. Walking to the dining area was a bother for her, still feeling weak in the legs.

She proceeded to her bedroom instead of the dining area and called a servant, with the intention of making the servant bring food to her.

Since the news was filled with the riot in front of the Hou auction, every one of the families in the city wondered one thing only: did the Hou clan lose the pills?

Before the riot occurred, if one of the citizens was asked about what they were hyped up about, it would be the Gem Light Pills that the Hou auction was supposedly selling the next week.

But now, if one was asked the same question, they would be filled with doubt over their answer. They were still excited about the pills, sure, but they were scared for their life as well.

Hou Ju was the daughter of an esteemed elder in the Hou clan, so she was assigned as the auction house's resident practitioner. The Hou family also assigned one of their two pill makers in the auction house.

Having one pill maker was already impressive, but having two was overkill! The Hou family had power within the city, and if push came to shove, they had some power outside the city as well. They could always seek refuge there should a calamity befall this humble city.

Even if they were powerful in the city though, no one had more authority than the city lord and his clan, the Zhou (周) family. When this Zhou clan heard about the disorder that happened near Hou property, they promptly blamed everything on them. The Zhou clan said it was their fault they had such a valuable item on their hands when they couldn't protect it.

The Hou clan was being pressured now. They were being pressured to submit the item they had to the Zhou clan, even if they knew it was unreasonable. The Zhou clan had power, and they did too, but not as much as the Zhou clan. They had to give them some face.

Hou Ju was, in particular, the one to blame. She was way stronger than the guards who defended the auction house, yet she chose to stay asleep in her office with the comfort of the "Scary Formation, Phase II". She could have easily turned the tides of the battle if she had appeared, but instead, she chose to act all stupid, thinking there was an earthquake trembling underneath a wooden table.

The guards that were beat up by the commoners were not given any compensation, but they were all fired from their jobs. The Hou clan needed to be more ready if another riot breaks out. That was why they hired new guards that were a lot stronger than the guards from before.

Li Bao, after eating, was satisfied. She wasn't panicking anymore and was quite relieved that she didn't sleep any longer, otherwise her bed would have been wet.

She vaguely remembered what happened that day, but the one memory that stood out was her brother, throwing the medicine in her face.

Li Bao was grateful for that, her insatiable anger was not something she wanted, so when Li Bai got rid of it, she wanted to thank him.

Li Bao walked back to her bedroom and saw her dad sitting while his head was on her bed. Li Fu was sleeping soundly. After not sleeping for a whole day, who wouldn't want to sleep?

Li Bao smiled at this, thanking her father silently for taking care of her. She didn't want to disturb the clan head's sleep. She then exited her bedroom, to visit her brother.

LI Bao arrived at her brother's bedroom. Li Bai was sleeping peacefully, with both his legs covered by bandages completely.

Li Bao was shocked! What happened to her little brother? This didi of hers was injured while she was sleeping! Li Bao wanted to thank him, but now it seemed like she wanted to get revenge for him.

Li Bao walked to his bed and sat down next to it. Her sitting down made the bed shake. This bed was made to only support a small child anyway, the time to replace it was getting close.

Li Bai woke up by the sudden tremors on his bed. He opened his eyes to see Li Bao sitting next to him. He was annoyed. I was sleeping peacefully, and you barge in? Idiot sister!

Still, he knew he had to say sorry. He accidentally sent her into unconsciousness for days! He had to maintain his composure.

Li Bai reached out his hand and poked Li Bao's sides, which made her burst into laughter. Li Bao turned her head to the side where the poke came from, and she saw her little brother's hand, about to poke her again.

"Bai didi, you're already awake!"

Li Bai nodded. He suddenly cupped his hands and lowered his head.

"Jie-jie, I'm sorry for throwing you powder. I didn't mean to send you into unconsciousness for a few days."

Li Bao was surprised. It wasn't his fault, why would he apologize to her? In fact, she should be the one apologizing, harboring malicious thoughts against him that time. She wanted to kill him, of course, she should apologize!

It was fortunate that most of the poison didn't make it out of the area around the Hou auction house, otherwise, there would be some that destroyed their houses for seemingly no reason.

The main problem was who spread the poison throughout the air. The poison targeted someone inside the Hou auction house that day, he knew it. They were trying to infiltrate the auction house, of course, their target was inside. This narrowed down who the target could be. When the target would be determined, he would be interrogated about who hated him. The culprit could be tracked that way.

While Li Bai was thinking deeply, he forgot about his sister who was waiting for his response to her apology. Li Bao thought that he was starting to ignore her now. Li Bai suddenly remembered.
