Regret

Li Bai was now restrained along with his sister, Li Bao, with him teaching her to pass the time. Ah, it's bothersome being a child...

.....

Jin He almost fell asleep, bored of fighting these awfully weak opponents.

She yawned again and again, but even her yawns were enough to push these so-called Fifth Level Mark cultivators back, if only for a short distance.

"Ahhh! I want to fight stronger people... Master, where are you?!"

As she was crying out how boring this battle was, everyone else from the Li clan was struggling to even hold back some of the people from the Liu clan!

Luckily for them, it seemed like the Liu clan was not taking this battle seriously, even with all of their angry expressions!

It looked like they were aiming for someone else, and thought of their current opponents as a bother only.

And this was the truth, Liu Gong and all of the elders were targeting one person, and it was Li Fu.

In fact, only Liu Gong was serious, as he was facing the Liu clan's target directly! Unfortunately for him, Li Fu was still higher than him in cultivation level.

Exchanging blows, Li Fu and Liu Gong were creating shockwaves through the air, preventing anyone from getting close to them, as the shockwaves were very strong, albeit weaker than if Jin He made them.

Li Fu was still holding back on his friend, examining what's wrong with him while battling. He noticed something, Liu Gong's eyes were bloodshot red!

The eyes of this friend of his were supposed to be a tint of blue, why would it be red?

This distracted Li Fu, who then took a blow from Liu Gong, launching him several meters back, but still managing to be on his feet. He gripped his stomach and started charging towards Liu Gong again.

"Ack!"

While running, Li Fu coughed up blood from his mouth.

This was unnatural, he knew that his friend's cultivation level was a whole 5-gems lower than his, how did he inflict this much damage on him? Li Fu stood still, pondering on how his friend got so much stronger.

Liu Gong took advantage of Li Fu's distraction, and kicked him in his face!

Li Fu fell down on the ground but managed to get back up quickly, nearly dodging Liu Gong's stomp. This stomp instead hit the ground, which made a crack appear on it!

Li Fu snapped out of his distraction. Ai... this is no time to hold back! To know why Liu Gong is acting like this, I need to knock him unconscious!

He started to run towards Liu Gong with all his might, creating pressure on his sides which blew some wind both ways.

The wind prevented anyone from getting closer to the running Li Fu, in fact, it blew them even farther! Both sides were affected by this strong wind.

Liu Gong saw that Li Fu was rushing towards him and planned to match his speed, running towards Li Fu.

This wasn't what Li Fu expected! He expected Liu Gong to take either a defensive stance or completely dodge his attacks!

Who knew that Liu Gong would face it head-on, knowing full well that Li Fu's cultivation level was higher than his?

Li Fu considered stopping, but his momentum was already too fast. Liu Gong was not thinking, unlike Li Fu. Instead, there was only the desire of wanting to kill Li Fu in his head.

As they got closer and closer, both of them were anxious as to what will happen if they rammed into each other.

Normally, Li Fu would think that he would knock over Liu Gong easily due to their difference in cultivation levels, but now that he saw Liu Gong's mysterious strength, he wasn't so sure anymore.

Li Fu and Liu Gong collided, causing a massive shockwave that reverberated throughout the whole battlefield!

This shockwave was both beneficial and harmful to either side. Some couldn't stand firm and got blown away by the massive pressure of the shockwave. Others stood still but their eardrums couldn't hold on, blood dripping from their ears.

The shockwave reached Jin He as well, but it did not have any effect on her, seeing as she could produce that shockwave whenever she wanted to without exerting that much energy.

She was getting anxious about the whereabouts of her master. Naturally, she knew that it was Li Bai who was shooting those arrows, but he abruptly stopped, causing Jin He to believe that something happened.

The two clan heads Li Fu and Liu Gong both got dazed by the shockwave they caused, which resulted in no one gaining the upper hand. The clash was useless in their eyes.

Now, the battle has transformed from fighting to recovering. They were stunned by their own attacks, but whoever recuperated first would naturally receive the upper hand.

Li Fu was still in a daze when suddenly Liu Gong charged in front of him. In an unexpected turn of events, Li Fu got knocked back several meters, his flight ending with his back crashing into a wall.

Li Fu tried to stand up and coughed up blood in the process. Liu Gong ran towards this whimpering Li Fu and kicked him in the stomach at full force!

"Ahuk-!"

This kick made him hit the wall again, making him cough up even more blood. The wall was collapsing. Liu Gong still wasn't satisfied and grabbed Li Fu by the neck. He then threw him at the wall, which made it completely collapse crushing Li Fu who was on the ground next to it!

Li Fu was barely holding on to his consciousness.

Jin He noticed that something was amiss. Although she wasn't affected by the sounds of clashes between Liu Gong and Li Fu, she could still hear them. When these came to an abrupt stop, naturally she was curious to see who came out on top.

What she saw was a frightful sight - Liu Gong stepping on Li Fu's head, twisting and turning his foot as he applied more force. Li Fu tried to scream in pain, but couldn't as his stomach hurt every time he spoke.

His head was getting stepped on and with a ton of force!

Jin He was startled at the sight of this, feeling that she needed to help, obviously because she was on the side of the one getting stepped on.

"Ah crap, I better rush!"

Taking care of the people who were hopelessly rushing her, again and again, was easy. She took care of all of them in one fell swoop of her hand, creating a massive wind that blew everyone away!

Jin He started to run towards the two at amazing speeds, fitting of being a Godly Mark Realm cultivator, and at the peak of the realm at that.

Unfortunately, she was a moment too late.

As she arrived at the scene, Li Fu's head was already crushed, only a puddle remained. Blood was all over Liu Gong's lower half, splattered on his legs. Remnants of Li Fu's insides were scattered on the ground, blood still continuously flowing out of him.

This was quite a horrifying scene, especially for Jin He! She was in the ring all this time, how could she maintain her composure with this brutal scene right in front of her?

This was her first time seeing a dead body, being the sheltered girl she once was. Despite following her master all this time, she never witnessed a scene like this. Her master would always tone it down if she was present.

Unable to take in this gory image, Jin He ran to her room with her palm covering her mouth.

"Blegh!"

On the Li clan's side, everyone looked at the direction of the two clan heads. They had similar reactions to Jin He, only not that exaggerated.

More so, their confidence decreased dramatically. With Liu Gong's hands free of the Li clan patriarch, he would naturally wreak havoc across the battlefield.

No one was a match to him after all, except for maybe the high elder. The high elder was too old, however, and his physical body would not be able to take it anymore, so a battle would be too taxing on him.

The rest of the elders were at Fifth Level Mark, but they were all weaker than their leader, how would they defeat the one that defeated Li Fu?

As the sun set, the clansmen of the Li clan fell to their knees and lost grip of their weapons, dropping them. They had no confidence left, only waiting for the Liu clan to make a move.

And so they did, however, it was an unforeseen one. The Liu clan mimicked the Li clan's movements, falling to their knees and dropping their weapons as well.

All of the Liu clan's people present were not aware of their own actions. When they saw the clan head's foot soaked in blood, only then did they come to their senses.

What are we doing here?

Their prior anger has all completely dissipated. What remained was a sense of emptiness and regret.

Although the Liu clan had much more casualties than the Li clan, the percentage of people that the Liu clan killed was still higher.

Liu Gong was the most affected. As soon as he looked down, he immediately knew that he was the one responsible for Li Fu's death, his not being in control notwithstanding.

The man that he stepped on was his friend. He was confused as to why he would do that. Putting aside his confusions for a moment, he stood still, tears dripping out.

"Li... Li Fu... my friend..."

.....

Li Bai and Li Bao noticed the servants' departure from their stations outside of Li Bai's room.

Li Bao planned to take advantage of their sudden movement but she was stopped by her brother.

"Bao jie-jie, should you be spotted outside of this room, the servants would be punished!"

Their job was to keep the children of the clan head safe, so if they weren't, the servants would be the first ones to be blamed for this.

Li Bao lost motivation when she heard her brother's warning. She went back to sitting on the newly dusty floor.

"How does the dust accumulate so fast?"
