Li Bai's Leg Healing

Li Bao went to the Li clan's marketplace, looking for the items that her brother asked her to fetch for him. She stood out like a sore thumb amidst all of the people there.

The Li clan's marketplace was not particularly busy, this marketplace's business compared to the top clan's marketplaces was pretty mediocre. Not a lot of people were buying here, except for when they see Li Bao strolling around.

The people that were present quickly spread the word that Li Bao was there, and so the number of people rose quickly. It was now as busy as it would be if there was a festival.

Li Bao was used to this, she always caused a ruckus when she walked anywhere in the city because she had never really been outside of the city. If she had though, the result would be the same. She herself didn't know why she caused a commotion, unaware of her own beauty.

Li Bao was looking for ingredients on a list made by her brother, Li Bai. She took it out of her pocket and looked at it. This garnered the masses' attention.

"She's looking at a list?"

"She's out on an errand?"

"We have to help her!"

All of the people's thoughts went in this direction as they sneaked a peek on the list. They were very common and cheap ingredients, ones that you would find in any marketplace. Li Bao just went out to buy, so of course, she hadn't completed the list yet.

When the people saw the remaining ingredients, they immediately raced to see who would be faster in providing them for the goddess-like being Li Bao.

One by one, the shops ran out of stock, because even though someone already bought a specific ingredient, someone else would buy it too in hopes that he would be faster to give it!

The shopkeepers were happy because this was one of the rare occasions in which all of their items on sale had run out. Some of the shopkeepers set up shop here just for the fact that Li Bao was here. When she bought something, all of the other people would buy the exact same thing, resulting in that specific item selling out.

When Li Bao would come out and buy, the marketplace would be blessed. When she bought in any other marketplace besides from the Li clan's, their marketplace would prosper. People would come there thinking that they would meet Li Bao, and when Li Bao left, they would think that they might as well buy since they were already there anyway.

The Li clan forbid Li Bao to buy in any other marketplace aside from when the item that she wanted was not available in their own marketplace. This way, they were able to keep the gold all to themselves.

.....

Li Bao successfully finished buying all of the stuff that Li Bai ordered her to buy. Although it was hectic, she managed to do it because all of the people were generous and were willing to help her. They even bought items that she didn't need, which she didn't accept but were instead forced on her.

After her departure from the marketplace, the commotion slowed down. It wasn't as busy as it was when Li Bao was there. Although there were other girls that were beautiful, none of them were as beautiful as Li Bao, therefore, only she was able to obtain that effect as opposed to the other girls.

Liu Heng tried to do this once but ended up making a fool of herself, flaunting her face in an empty marketplace. What good does a pretty face do in an empty place?

.....

Li Bao walked back to Li Bai's bedroom. She had finished buying the ingredients that Li Bai asked her to buy, and so came to deliver them. She arrived and opened the door, only to see her brother desperately making something out of wooden sticks that he scraped off from his bed.

"Li Bai didi, what are you doing?"

Li Bai couldn't walk so to get items far away from his bed, he needed to formulate a plan. He finally thought of one - scrape some wood off of the bottom of the bed and make some kind of contraption out of them! This was what he was doing.

The desperate Li Bai knew that this wouldn't work, he was just stalling for time. His idiot sister shouldn't be that long from now!

When she arrived, he gave up on what he was doing and threw all of the wood scrapes away on the floor.

"Bao jie-jie, never mind that, have you gotten the ingredients?"

Li Bao immediately showed her leather bag which was full of the items Li Bai asked her to buy.

"Yes, Bai didi."

"Thanks, please put them down on the table there, and push it closer to me."

Li Bao, following the instructions, pushed the table closer to her brother and laid down all of the plants and beast parts on the table.

Li Bai pointed to under the desk beside his bed, where a curtain was hiding something.

"Bao jie, please get my cauldron also."

Li Bao heard her brother and immediately looked for his cauldron. She knew what it looked like, she saw him use it before! The only problem was that she didn't know where it was.

She got on all fours and crawled all over the bedroom, with no results. She turned towards Li Bai and was about to ask where the cauldron was when she saw his annoyed face and more importantly his finger which was pointing somewhere.

The curtains which were being pointed at were suddenly lifted by Li Bao and there she saw a metal pot. This is the exact cauldron! She happily grabbed it and stood up, sweeping the dust on her arm with her empty hand. Her knees were also dusty, but she couldn't reach them.

Li Bai told Li Bao to put the cauldron down on the table beside him, where the ingredients were. She did so and sat down on the dusty floor. When she did, the dust on the floor went flying all over the place. Both of them covered their faces to not breathe in the dust.

Li Bai noticed something. I haven't noticed it before but... why is my bedroom so dirty?

The truth was that even though there were servants who didn't look down on Li Bai, they weren't the ones assigned to him. The ones assigned to him though were all lazy and didn't bother cleaning his room because they regarded him as trash. Li Bai's plan to make a healing bath for his legs were halted because of this. The dust could affect the composition of the mixture!

"Bao jie, call servants to clean up my room, please?"

.....

After a while, the room had been cleaned up by the reluctant servants. They were threatened by Li Bao that if they didn't clean her brother's room, they would get fired.

The servants all followed Li Bao soon after but not because of the reason she thought. The threat had no effect, but the issuer was Li Bao herself! Of course, they would follow her!

The room still had dust here and there, but overall it was much cleaner than it was before. The brewing of the liquid was not out of reach any longer.

Li Bao was satisfied by this clean room but her clothes were all dirty and stained. She wasn't aware of this and had a fairly happy expression on her face.

Li Bai, however, was aware of his sister's filthy clothing and tried to ignore it, because he was also aware of the number of hours it would take just for her to choose a different dress!

His legs were itching to be healed, even though they were numb at the moment. He couldn't wait any longer, especially if it was just her sister being choosy!

Li Bai shook his head and successfully overlooked his sister's soiled clothes. He leaned closer to the table beside the bed. His plan was to make the medicine himself and have Li Bao support him to soak his legs inside a wooden container using this liquid.

His shortcoming was his hands. They were too short! His plan had failed miserably. There was still another option, and that was to make Li Bao constantly support him while he was mixing, but that was asking for too much. Even the idiot Li Bao had something to do.

The most unreliable plan appeared in his mind. What if... she is the one who makes the medicine?

"Bao jie, because of my little arms, I'm going to have to rely on you to make the medicine, thanks. I will tell you the instructions as you go, please don't miss one else my bedroom would explode and we would get caught up in it."

"Huh?"

Li Bao had a confused expression on her face.

.....

A sweaty Li Bao was inside Li Bai's bedroom. "She is being overworked!", one would say if they saw the state she was in. But desperate times called for desperate measures. Even Li Bai was nervous.

At first, he thought that this plan wasn't so desperate but now he realized his mistakes. Li Bao, however, had not realized her mistakes. Instead, she kept repeating them!

The number of times Li Bai's bedroom should have exploded was astronomical, with Li Bai quickly taking action when she made a fatal misstep. A misstep really was fatal in this situation because they would both explode should Li Bao make more missteps.

Li Bao walking away was also not possible. The cauldron was on an open fire. They were mixing the liquid as they were brewing it, another slip up by Li Bao. Her brother warned her multiple times not to do it, but she was an idiot.

If Li Bao abandoned the pot, its explosion would surely cover the entire mansion! They wouldn't be the only casualties if that were to happen. Li Bao wasn't made aware of this, seeing how panicked she was right now. If she knew this, how much more jittery would she become?

The ordeal they were in right now was nerve-wracking enough for a number of commoners to give in under the pressure, but they weren't common. Both of them were quite extraordinary!

Li Bai's quirk was obvious, it was his soul, and therefore his unparalleled soul strength and similarly unparalleled knowledge. Li Bao was a genius cultivator, getting speeds that could almost rival a mark genius!

But right now, these two exceptional people were hopeless.

"Quick, Bao jie, put in the bone of the Three-tailed Serpent!"

.....

Li Bao finally finished brewing the liquid. It was a sickly green color, which meant that it was of the lowest quality. The color rule applied to all mediums, so when Li Bai saw this, he was quite disappointed.

His sister, however, was elated. This was her first time making this, and she succeeded! Usually, medicine makers needed quite a bit of practice to make even a vomit green color medicine. Most of them end up as black, which was failures. But her first time even attempting resulted in a vomit green color, of course, she would be delighted!

Li Bai was disgusted by this color. He didn't even want to come in contact with it! Thankfully, he needed to dilute it in some more water first before being usable, otherwise, he would have fainted even if just a drop of it touched his skin.

"Bao jie, are you tired?"

Li Bao was exhausted inside, but once she heard her brother's question, she denied it.

"Ah, no, didi."

She knew that there was something else that Li Bai wanted her to do, otherwise why would he ask if she was tired?

"Then please mix the liquid with some water in a container and prepare it beneath my feet on the bed. Thanks, Bao jie-jie. Oh, also please help me soak my legs."

.....

After a week of soaking his legs in the wooden container, he was able to walk around again. He owed a huge favor to his sister now, she made the medicine despite the dangers. He also took up much of her time, washing his feet instead of cultivating.

No servants checked up on Li Bai, as Li Bao was already taking care of him. They felt like it was unnecessary. After all, he wouldn't get well until the next two years.

The door to Li Bai's bedroom suddenly opened.

"Oh, it's Miss Li Bao."

"She's come out."

"She finished taking care of her brother."

The servants that were around assumed that it was Li Bao who walked out, but they were proven wrong when a small shadow was cast on the grass.

The small shadow moved, and the caster was revealed. It was... Li Bai! Li Bai was standing up and walking by himself! His sister followed him out of the room soon after. She had a happy expression on her face.

One of the servants who witnessed this unprecedented scene eagerly ran towards the clan head's office with the intention to report what had happened. He arrived at the front of the office and knocked on the wooden door.

"Come in."

The servant meekly opened the door.

"Oh, a servant. What do you want?"

"Well, you see..."

The servant walked closer and leaned to the clan master's head, and whispered in his ear.

"WHAT?!"

.....

Li Fu instantly ran towards the direction of his son's bedroom and there he saw Li Bao just leaving.

"Oh, father, why are you here?"

"Is Li Bai okay?"

He looked around the area behind Li Bao and saw Li Bai tending the grass with an annoyed face. The grass was withered and brown. Li Bai was muttering something to himself. Of course, with Li Fu's level, he could easily hear what he was saying.

"Stupid servants, not watering my grass, not cleaning my room, ugh."

His son was walking again, after only just a week! He also got to hear some complaining from his son, that was how he knew that Li Bai was not surprised nor elated over this event.

"Hai, my son, Bai er..."
