Feast

Li Bai's serious thinking that extended into the night, while he was laying on his bed, had finally come to a conclusion. If he didn't have talent in cultivating, he would certainly have talent in everything else. After all, in most of his previous lives, he was at the top in every topic possible. He thought about it some more until he fell asleep unknowingly.

He had a dream. It was one of his first lives. He was sneaking in a clan's library for knowledge because he knew that the books in the public Cultivation Hall were limited. He was sneaking in the Li clan's library before he was caught, punished and kicked out.

He woke up this morning, not knowing what the dream signified. Why did my mind show this to me right now? He brushed it off, thinking it was just a coincidence.

He chose a field in which he would display his prowess. He had a wide range of fields to choose from, but the one that caught his eye was pill making. He could make high-level pills without batting an eye in his previous lives because of his strong soul tempered through generations.

Li Bai knew that high-level pills were valuable in this scarce land, so much so that when one was auctioned, the prices skyrocketed. Pill makers were also extremely rare in the entire continent, to the point that when one appeared that could make even just one that was barely high level, lots of people would fawn over this man.

When Li Bai thought about how much publicity he would gain if he were to do this, he couldn't help but smile with glee. He knew that swarms and swarms of people would come begging to him to make them his disciple. After that, he would teach them not only the art of pill making, but also the art of formations, the art of martial, the art of blacksmithing, and everything else. He would start a sect in which he was the leader, and his first disciples were the elders. He was thinking so far in the future that he didn't think about how to start.

He finally snapped out of his daydreaming ecstasy when someone knocked on his door.

"Li Bai di! You're late for the feast!"

It was his older sister, Li Bao, that was calling for him outside his bedroom. He completely forgot about the feast that was occurring today. He went outside and came with his sister. They walked through the road to the main hall.

While Li Bai and Li Bao were walking, a large number of pedestrians saw Li Bai and sneered at him. He was the famous trash of the clan. When his cultivation was tested the past month, he was of the lowest level. At his age of ten, the normal level of cultivation should have been the First Level Mark 3-gems. But he was at the First Level Mark 0-gems. He couldn't train at all.

"Oh, so it's the 'young master' of the clan!"

"Some young master you are."

"Young master? Trash master is better!"

These people all kissed up to him when he was younger because he was the young master of the clan, and also because they thought he was a mark genius, but now even a commoner randomly picked up on the streets is a better candidate than him. The ridicule got worse when finally Li Bai snapped.

"I'll show you! I'll be better than all of you! I swear to the heavens!"

Li Bai screamed through the entire courtyard. Every one of the spectators was surprised. They didn't think this Li Bai had the courage to stand up to them, as even an ant can trample all over him.

Li Bai was once a feared individual due to his status as the clan master's son, but now even the servants make fun of him. The clan master did not control everything so he could not assign guards to protect Li Bai, much less find guards that didn't look down on his son.

But now that Li Bai retaliated, even if the spectators hurt him, it could be counted as self-defense, but no one was shameless enough to do it. They just shut up after Li Bai screamed.

Li Bai pulled his sister's hand and walked faster towards the main hall. They arrived and the guards opened the door for them. They greeted the young master with sarcasm, while they greeted his older sister with lust.

"These guards are shameless!"

Inside the hall, Li Bai was isolated. Even his sister, who is usually close to him, didn't stay by his side, instead, she was interacting with her friends from the other clans.

"Of course she would rather go to her friends than keep me company, she's a girl! I, Li Bai, was once a girl, so I understand completely. Girls do not want to keep their siblings company."

Li Bai was seated in the corner, thinking of how to initiate his plan of making pills. The first thing he would need is resources. Plants and the like are scarce in this backwater city, with only weeds common. Still, there are some cases in which a rare plant would sprout, and when it did, all the clans would try to acquire it. However, he didn't need high-grade rare plants, as he knew how to compromise.

Li Bai walked to where his dad was, he was on the mezzanine of the hall. The other elders were also there. They looked down on and insulted Li Bai when he walked by.

Li Bai wanted to fight back, but he knew that he couldn't explode like he did in the courtyard. He was already lucky the passers-by were lenient enough to not attack him. He knew that these elders were shameless, different from the people outside, because they had power, whereas the passers-by didn't have any, and couldn't afford offending Li Fu. They had to give him some face.

"Hey, Li Fu, your son is shameless enough to climb up here with us!"

"What are you doing here, trash Li Bai?"

Li Fu saw this sight while his son was walking towards him. Seeking to intervene, he opened his mouth when his son laughed.

"Hahaha! I am walking towards my dad."

This was a very sarcastic answer to the rhetorical question that the elder asked, obviously directed towards him. He felt irritated inside. How dare this Li Bai brat to have the guts to insult him? He almost snapped, but just before they did, they saw Li Fu looking at them ominously. It seemed that it would be better if they shut up. Li Fu turned back to his son, who was waiting.

"What is it, Bai er?"

"Father, I need to ask you for a favor."

Li Fu was surprised. This Li Bai was asking him for a favor? He was always so depressed and distant since he was small. He never knew what happened to him to make him so sad. This sudden turn of events shocked Li Fu inside, but he maintained his composure outside.

"What do you want?"

"I want to ask you for some resources."
