61 Assassin

Yuan Luoyang gloated in front of the bleeding Wu Tai.

With both of them having equal cultivation levels, they could clearly hear Zhao Mei's screams.

Yuan Luoyang put his hand behind his ear and said, "Can you hear it? The screams of despair."

Wu Tai couldn't muster up the strength to respond. He thought to himself, "No! Don't do anything to her..."

"By the way, all of this is your fault," Yuan Luoyang said.

A look of confusion appeared on Wu Tai's face. What do you mean this is all my fault? I... didn't do anything though!

Seeing the confused expression Wu Tai had, Yuan Luoyang answered, "Your lack of competence."

Hearing the other party's reason, Wu Tai's face darkened. His head looked down, and he saw the dagger inside his stomach. He looked towards where Zhao Mei was, but he couldn't see due to the sandstorm.

These two reminded him of his lack of competence.

"Eh, I'm not talking about you not succesfully protecting the princess," Yuan Luoyang said as he saw Wu Tai's eyes wandering around. "I'm talking about your lack of competence in eradicating an entire village!"

"What?" Wu Tai heard the other party and couldn't understand what he just said. Eradicating a village?

Seeing the puzzled look on Wu Tai's face, Yuan Luoyang spoke, "Let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a peaceful village. The kids were playing with each other while the adults were working satisfiedly.

One day, one of the villagers, a miner, found a rare ore, one so rare that its existence was kept secret to the commoners.

The village chief was once one of high position, so he knew what the ore was. He told the miner to lead him where he found the ore.

As they reached the destination, the village chief looked around and saw a ton of that rare ore, in one place.

Hesitsting for a long time, he decided to tell the palace, and left for a trip."

Until that point, Wu Tai did mot understand the relevance of the story to him. However, when the palace was mentioned, it suddenly struck him.

Yuan Luoyang continued, "The village chief never came back.

The villagers started getting anxious.

Until one day, a general with blonde hair came along!

He had an entire army behind him, with all of their faces concealed behind a helmet.

The villagers readied a feast as they looked like they came from the palace.

As the general came by, one of the villagers came up to him and greeted him.

An arrow suddenly went through his chest."

Wu Tai closed his eyes and moved his two hands on his two ears. He didn't want to hear the rest of the story. A tear flowed from his eye, followed by a continuous stream.

Yuan Luoyang paid no heed to Wu Tai's reaction and resumed his story, "The villagers witnessed the sight and were dumbstruck.

The feast that they were preparing was in vain.

As soon as they heard the general's command, they all descended into panic.

"Attack!," he said.

The white cloth that covered a table was now red. The grass was covered with corpses. The once joyful atmosphere of the village was gone.

However, there were few who escaped. It was a pair of brothers and their father!

As for the mother? Well, she was killed early on.

Those two brothers grew up to be assassins, raised by their father that way, and now, they're getting revenge for their entire village's slaughter!

Well, at least one of them is."

As Yuan Luoyang concluded the story, the corners of his lips curled upwards.
