1 What... am I?
"I have been seeing these very weird dreams lately..."
a silvered white hair first year highschool boy wearing a jacket said to his friend at the cafeteria of the school.
"What kind of dreams?"
A blonde and a first year highschool girl the boy was talking to,
"Dreams about… my memories?"
He questioned himself as if he wasn't sure of what he said or saw.
"Well, you shouldn't think about it too much since dreams are meant to be forgotten." said the girl, "Yeah… maybe you're right."
The boy nodded and agreed with her statement. The bell rang meaning that lunch was over,
"We should head back, Kyousuke"
she stood up and waited for the boy named Kyousuke.
"Right… let's go Ruri,we might get late haha..." Kyousuke said to the girl named Ruri.
Kyousuke and Ruri walked to their room together. But as they walked together, some students were muttering,
"Look it's Ruri Garou! The smartest and the top student of this school!" a highschool girl said, "Really!? Did ya' know she is the school's top beauty!" another highschool girl said.
"I know right? But who is he?" The highschool girl said staring at Kyousuke, "Him? You don't know him?! He is the quiet type boy but he is mostly on par with Ruri in terms of academics!" the highschool girl said to her friend "On top of that he is her-" she was disturbed by one of the teachers and continued to walk to their room.
Kyousuke also continued to walk with Ruri out of sight, he was in his thoughts with his stoic face.
(Yes… I may be good at my studies a bit but… I have no physical talent whatsoever. Unlike my only friend, Ruri, she is very smart, athletic, beautiful and else. She is… out of my league. I have thought this for some time now, "Why is this amazing and wonderful person friends with a lowly person like me?" Is what I thought and the problem that I haven't solved for years; who were my real parents?)
Kyousuke deep in his thoughts and went home, played his favorite rpg and slept after school hours ended.
An immense space that is white stands before two boys, a young person and an older person, likely to be a teenager, both looked similar. Same silver white hair color and same black colored eye.
"W-where am… I?" The older person spoke with a stoic face stared towards the younger person. "You are in your dream." The younger person finally spoke and with the same stoic expression on his face. "I-in my dream… that means… you are…" as the older person was finishing, the younger one interrupted him.
"Yes, I am you, Kyousuke Kanji: ten years ago."
The younger Kyousuke told the current Kyousuke. Kyousuke was surprised but still had his stoic expression despite talking to his younger self.
"Don't act surprised, we have met already before." As usual, he had noticed even with the stoic expression. "You might not know why you are here again but take a look at your memories." The young Kyousuke flicked his little fingers and made a sound. Soon, the white space became a mountain beside a city.
Younger Kyousuke was with a browned hair that might be his 'father' and beside him was his friend, the space was made to recall current Kyousuke's memories. Both younger Kyousuke and his friend ran off towards the woods while his 'father' was happily laughing at both of them. Kyousuke and his friend were playing tag but then both of them were surrounded by wild boars. Kyousuke screamed for help but none answered. "....." Older Kyousuke watched silently and so did younger Kyousuke, the memory continues with the boars gazing at both of them with bloodlust. The younger Kyousuke in the memory was shivering from fear while he was protecting his friend, the boars suddenly attacked and Kyousuke let out a scream full of fear but a blue light crossed over younger Kyousuke's eyes and an ice froze both his friend and boar.
"W-what…?!"
Older Kyousuke looked shocked with his eyes widened while younger Kyousuke was still watching silently. The scream of fear became a scream of agony and suddenly passed, his 'father' suddenly came and lifted up Kyousuke and brought him home and came back to save his friend.
"W-w-what was… that?!" Older Kyousuke finally made a revealing face. "It was an affinity; you have this power inside of you but you still haven't realized it because you only had a glimpse of this power and then you have forgotten these events that have happened" younger Kyousuke explained.
"There is still more knowledge I may hold for example: what is an affinity/ why you have this power/ what comes in your future and lastly, about your parents" younger Kyousuke finished and was beginning to vanish.
"M-my parents? W-wait, please tell me!"; "Goo… uc… hos… ne" the final words younger Kyousuke said were unclear as he continued to vanish out of Kyousuke's sight. As Kyousuke was about to catch the vanishing of his 'younger' self, he suddenly woke up. His alarm clock rang, the sun was shining through the window yet the morning was cold. Kyousuke's well organized room:
"That dream… what was it again?" Kyousuke thought deeply to remember it yet nothing comes to mind. Kyousuke prepared everything and went down to eat breakfast, "Oh, you're awake, now, come eat your breakfast." the old man said. "Kawasu, I have a question." Kyousuke asked with his a serious expression.
"Who… were my parents…, Kawasu?" asked Kawasu deeply. Kawasu cleared his throat, he held their breakfast and put it down the table, "Why… do you wanna' know?" asked Kawasu. Kyousuke checked his watch, "Nevermind, we'll talk sometime, Bye" Kyousuke left the house with his jacket without speaking another word to his 'father'. Kawasu stood up and picked up a phone and called someone, "It's Time".
Kyousuke walked towards school with deep thoughts in his head. Students walked and passed by Kyousuke and whispered, "Why is he wearing a jacket?" asked the students to their friends due to curiosity because of the hot weather. Yet, Kyousuke wasn't bothered by them and still had these thoughts in his head.
"I'm curious too… Why is everyone not wearing a jacket on this cold morning? Though... what was I dreaming again last night? If I am correct, something… happened when I was a kid? Who were my… biological parents?". Kyousuke arrived at school. A school full of students that excels more knowledge than regular students, Arushi Shiki Highschool.
As Kyousuke passed the entrance gate of the school, he felt another cool breeze despite him wearing a jacket. He shivered and wrapped his arms around himself. Lots of people started to stare at Kyousuke because of him wearing a thick jacket, Ruri approached Kyousuke though she didn't show any unusual reaction except a happy expression on her face.
"Wearing your jacket again? Well, let's get going" Ruri continued to guide Kyousuke and as if she was used to Kyousuke wearing a jacket. They both went to their room together but Kyousuke felt something different about Ruri. Class started but Kyousuke wasn't listening though he was able to keep up with the studies. The teacher noticed him and punished him by cleaning the school's pool after school, Kyousuke was about to head to the pool when Ruri approached him.
"Kyousuke… I've got some things to do at home… so I can't walk home with you today," said Ruri with a sincere sorry in her face, "It's alright, goodluck." Kyousuke said with a smile on his face. "Thanks Kyousuke, I owe you one"
When Ruri was about to leave, Kyousuke asked her: "Aren't you... getting cold?" and Ruri stopped for a while and answered with a bit of confusion, "No... Why?" she looked at Kyousuke, checking if something happened.
"Nothing... See ya" Kyousuke said and let Ruri leave.
Ruri left, waving goodbye at Kyousuke. He continued to go to the pool, he got a skimmer net and started to clean the pool. While cleaning the pool he was in his thoughts again, "Why… why...isn't anyone getting cold?" He questioned himself and thought of an answer but nothing came to his mind.
Suddenly a message resonated through Kyousuke's mind: "your parents,"
Kyousuke suddenly acted surprised but remained silent, he cleaned the pool thoroughly but every time he moved he felt something different happening to his body.
He moved again and felt the difference. He suddenly realizes he was just getting cold. The longer he moved and cleaned the pool, the colder his body felt until a few minutes later; he collapsed and lost consciousness.
Nobody came because school had already ended and no students besides him were there, even teachers had already gone home, the school became like an abandoned building. After an half an hour or less, he regained consciousness, opened his eyes and lifted his body. "What… the hell happened?!" Kyousuke said out loudly as he could from the shock of what he was seeing at the moment.
Kyousuke was surprised at the pool he was cleaning, he scratched his eyes and pinched his cheek and arms as hard as he could. He knew at the moment that he wasn't dreaming, the pool that he was cleaning a few minutes ago… froze. He was in pause because of the shock, he didn't know what to do and nearly panicked but slowly he was remembering the dream he had. (Y-younger me… my younger self… the person in my dream and the memory in my dream? Wh-what could it be?!) Kyousuke thought deeply while he was walking home. He ate dinner and went to sleep as to know what that dream could be.
Kyousuke woke up in a room filled with golden treasures and weapons and in the middle of it was a golden throne and a 'person' sitting on it. Kyousuke knew he was dreaming and thought that this was pointless because of it not being similar to the one he has had.
"Pointless?"
The 'person' said with a stiff voice and stood up, he was taller than a four storey building and wider than a house. "How did you know what I was thinking?" Kyousuke said with his voice as normal as it could be and still had his stoic expression. "How did I do it, you say…?" The 'person' said and paused for a moment, "It's because… I'm a God!" The self proclaimed god that had a stiff voice suddenly became a cheerful voice. "A God?" Kyousuke said with an uncertain stare that is aimed towards God, "Yes, Kyousuke Kanji, I am God named Kagami. Now, hmm… let's see… Kyousuke Kanji… Ah, currently 16 years old, blood type:AB, Hmm... let's skip the basic unimportand information and on with the important one," Kyousuke agreed with Kagami and nodded

"M-my Mother?" Kyousuke's stoic face became curious of what Kagami said.
"Ah… I still haven't finish" Kagami explained to Kyousuke and he agreed to let Kagami continue. "Ahem—[A boy who is white haired and black eyes that was inherited by his mother and the face of his father, though this story was not that happy. He was abandoned by his parents ever since his birth, he was forced to live with hunger and die immediately but someone saw this new born child. But as soon as he saw this child, he already felt an unbearable power within him. This person was named Kawasu Kanji, He took and raised the child as his own and was satisfied by how he took care of him. The child, who was named Kyousuke Kanji, had a friend named Ruri Garou. Though even if Kawasu had known the power within Kyousuke, he didn't know when or where it would manifest. During one time in the forest, Kyousuke who was a six years old managed to release his powers uncontrollably and lost consciousness and forgot this event. Kawasu had witnessed the potential of Kyousuke but kept quiet about it up until now.]
Kagami finished reading the screen about Kyousuke and Kyousuke still had his stoic face but had questions ready. "First, why… am I here?" Asked Kyousuke to Kagami, "To discuss the things that will be important in the near future and have your power in control with you, I recall that I gave these information in your other dreams" Kagami answered quickly and flicked his fingers. Kyousuke felt a great pain in his head, "I will make you remember" Kagami said to Kyousuke. Memories flew through Kyousuke's head and regained almost all of it. "Don't tell me… you are "younger" me?" Kyousuke asked calmly to Kagami, "Correct, if you have regained your memories, I am sure you will know the power that resides within yourself", "An Affinity", "Yes, Correct. These powers you are now wielding are an affinity and I am here to tell you that you're the..." Kagami's word became darker and the last word he said became unclear. "The… what?" Kyousuke asked Kagami but his question was disrupted by the flick of Kagami's fingers which led him back in his world.
The time he woke up was early in the morning and through the habit of waking up earlier before eating breakfast, he played his favorite role playing game. He grinded his avatar to the extent of being the third strongest player in the server. "Oh" Kyousuke said while staring at his character, which coincidentally, his character was an elemental mage and assassin that was similar to his powers which he holds. "Magic huh?..." Kyousuke logged off of his account and started preparing things.
He went down when he had finished and saw Kawasu and a well-suited person who was beside Kawasu. "Kyousuke! perfect timing, I want you to meet my friend" Kawasu said happily while preparing their breakfast, "Your friend?" said Kyousuke while staring at the person. "Yes, he is—" he was cut off by his friend, "Aoi Soichiro, nice to meet you" Soichiro lifted one his arms wanting a handshake greeting from Kyousuke. Kyousuke accepted the handshake with a smile though, Kyousuke felt something oddly new when he greeted Soichiro. "So... Why are you here?" Kyousuke asked Soichiro, "I have important things to discuss with your uncle" he answered calmly. "Uh huh…" Kyousuke became quiet, ate his breakfast and left. Kawasu saw him off and sat in front of Soichiro. "So it IS him after all" said Soichiro starting the discussion, "Yes, but he hasn't fully controlled it," said Kawasu to Soichiro. "Yeah, I noticed that's, why I need him to enroll at the school he needs to" Soichiro finished and stood up, "All life will depend on this boy because… HE is The God's Prophecy, I'll be back after school end, then I'll to take him". Kawasu looked down, "Okay… see you then" and he ended the discussion and Soichiro left.
Kyousuke was walking while looking at his hand where he shook hands with Soichiro, (For an instant, I saw blue things inside Soichiro) thought Kyousuke while walking to school. He came to school earlier than he expected, he went to his classroom and showed his phone and played his RPG. Class started a few minutes later. He had noticed that there was only one week left before summer vacation came, and in this week he met the self proclaimed God, Kagami. "Kagami… please tell me what these affinities are and why I have them." Kyousuke to the God.
"First, you must make this power or powers in your control after this. Second, you must understand your role and responsibilities after what I will say" said Kagami, giving Kyousuke instruction. "Okay" said Kyousuke, agreeing to the terms Kagami gave.
"Listen carefully, ten centuries or a millennium ago, a war broke out between the Gods and the Demons. Though I still wasn't born in that era, generations of Gods pass this story. In that time, the earth we know today was a battlefield at that time… chaos reigned the world, destruction everywhere, extinction of animals such as the dinosaurs. But, there were already people in that era but only as slaves and monarchs for example: the great egyptians that built the pyramids and other people with colonies. All the people were caught up in the war giving only fear to them. Though both sides took risks and sacrifices to attain victory but it only led to more deaths, losses and yet the war still continues until the gods had an idea. A human ascended at the side of the Gods. It had supernatural powers, a weapon from the Gods to fight back the Demons which led them at a disadvantage and retreat. But they rose up again with another human weapon. The war ended in the 15th century with a draw but both did not accept results and made another war but with their human weapons named 'Chosen'. The Gods and Demons gave power to humans to be able to use them in the future, thus creating the new era of magic.
The Gods and Demons that gave power to the first two 'chosen' was too overpowered and they divided it into eleven. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Nature, Ice, Lightning, Shadow, Solar, Void and the most rare infinity Time, the one that alters time and space. Though as of today, much more affinities were discovered with the help of human experiments. The power entrusted by God and Demons to humans who will become their weapon.
The world was now secretly divided into two by humans with non-magical affinities and humans with affinities. But humans with none can gain one if chosen by a god or demon and will be given a Divine weapon or Cursed weapon." Kagami finished his sentences and at the same time, answered the two questions of Kyousuke.
"So to summarize it, I have been chosen, got an affinity and will protect everyone...?" Kyousuke calmly summarized it and got it all correct. "Smart and Calm as always" Kagami laughed and smiled proudly at Kyousuke. "Though, you are more special than any chosen" Kagami said to Kyousuke, "W-what do you mean by that?" Kyousuke asked Kagami, waiting for him to answer. "You… are the ONE" Kagami said but still had secrets behind what he said. Kyousuke's face towards Kagami was not plausible, "Time for a weapon shall we?" Kagami said and he guided Kyousuke to 7 pillars.
"These are the seven pillars, inside each of these are holding one weapon that can grow stronger with its user and can massively enhance the user just by using it" Kagami then flicked his fingers and the seven pillars spun towards Kagami and Kyousuke. "These are one of the treasures of the Gods:
[Juuchi Yosamu, Indra's Bow, Gungnir, Poseidon's Trident, Death's Scythe, Carnwennan, and ———] , "Why is the other one empty?" Kyousuke asked once again. "That is uh… Nothing, maybe they forgot to give me another weapon" Kagami said with an awkward voice. "Each has its ancient history and an important one too, each user can get its full potential if trained properly. Now choose!" Kagami loudly said and made Kyousuke stand in the center of the seven pillars. But even before he got to choose, Kyousuke got surprised by the sudden appearance of the dagger named Carnwennan and slashed the tip of Kyousuke's finger as an act of being paired with him and made a tattoo at both Kyousuke's hand with the shape of a two violet daggers that forms and X.
Kagami was slowly vanishing and so is the room of treasures, he woke up on a cold morning, he looked at his hand and saw the tattoo of the two daggers.
"What… the heck AM I?"
