Chapter 33

After letting the scenery in front of her sink in she brought herself back into reality. No perhaps that isn't correct she had given up on understanding something like that through her own knowledge. After returning to reality she panicked because she had forgotten the reason she had come here. She looked around but couldn't spot the spirit that she had followed to reach here.

Hana: "Did the spirit go on ahead?" She tilts her ahead thinking of the possibility but soon brings it back to her regular position. " No use thinking about it, it's what I get for getting side tracked. All I can do now is wait for them to come."

Hana had nothing to do while waiting so she sat on the floor and looked at the biome from the outside. It wasn't entirely boring for her since every so often lightning would appear out of thin air and cause her to wake up. It was a sight to behold for Hana. But after a while Hana got worried since nobody had appeared.

Hana: "What do I do? Nobody has shown up and I haven't seen the spirit!" She made a troubled face as she was unable to think what she should. She had remembered Hyogo told her to come back after an hour and it had certainly been around that time that she had waited for. Either way she decided to wait an extra 30 minutes just to be safe but in the end it was in vain since nobody showed up.

Hana: "Nothing I can do. I should head back now. I don't want to worry the people from my village anymore."

She had a sad expression as she turned her back on the biome since she felt as if she didn't accomplish anything.

Hana: "What do I tell Hyogo when I get back."

As she walked back that was constantly on her mind until she got somewhat near her village. She saw smoke appear from her village so she picked up pace as she was worried if something had happened while she was away. The closer she got the more anxious she got what had started off as a speed walk turned into her sprinting as fast as she could. Once she was close enough to the village she could see that her village had been attacked.

Hana: "—— What happened here." I need to see what happened to everyone!

Her first instinct was to check the houses closest to her. But she had given up hope on those. It was obvious that anyone inside those houses was dead as there were huge spikes of ice going through the homes. Once she got a closer look she could tell that there were body parts hanging from the tip of it.

She fell onto her knees.

Hana: "—This can't be happening. Why did this happen!? What happened to the rest of the villagers?! Please just some of them must of survived.Th-is can't be happ-ening."

Tears came running down as she gripped her chest.

Hana: My chest hurts it aches. Bu-t I need to get up. I need to look for others.

The only thing she was able to do was run. Running as if her life depended on it she looked throughout the village to see if anybody survived. The more she looked the sloppier her steps became she was losing hope. She was tired. "Please let this be a dream" she thought. She has run out of tears to shed. She was in no condition to move forward.

Hana: I can't stop yet even if my body wants to I can't there still might be someone out there that needs my help. The possibility of someone still out there will not allow me to stop.

Then she reached her home. What she saw was something no person should see in their life. It was horrifying.

Hana: . . .

She saw ice poke out of the door once she opened the front door she saw her mother's body pierced through with stakes of ice holding her body in place. She had burn marks all over her body as if she was burned alive. The next person she saw was her dad. He was sitting at the family dinner table facing in her direction. She stared back without an expression. She had no idea what expression she should make at the moment. After all, what expression does a person make seeing their dad headless? Hana should have been broken right at this moment but she had one more place to go to

Hana: No-t yet they are still missing the last place to check is the shed. My brother and Hyogo please still be alive.

She walked slowly to the shed dragging her body there she was way past her limit but she had managed to make it. The door that was once there was broken down so there was no need to open a door. Once she entered the shed she saw the shed covered in her brother's blood while his body that was split in half laid on the floor. She noticed that there was water on the floor with ice as well. The thought that it was Hyogo who did it crossed her mind but she didn't want to believe it so she shook her head to regain her senses. Before she left she looked around the shed to see if there was anything related to Hyogo to tell where he was until she laid her eyes on a piece of paper with a message written in blood.

"I'm sorry I lied to you Hana, my comrades already knew that I was here. They arrived about the time you should have made it to the biome. I had sent you there because I had thought you were a nice person since you believed in god. The rest of your village though were evil. I had to get rid of the people that did not believe in god. As someone who wants to become god's right hand man in the future I will lower the amount of non-believers as much as I can. Now that you know why I did that I do hope you're able to live a happy life. No I'm sure you will, anyone that shows faith in god will live a blessed life enjoy it."

From, Hyogo

At that moment Hana felt like something inside her had cracked. Hana had been broken.
