15 Merchant Guild
We are at the entrance of the Merchant Guild.
We enter it and we encounter a lot of merchants that are buying and selling their goods such as foods, armors, weapons, and sometimes artifacts but most of them either F or E rank artifacts.
We go to meet the owner of the guild and he is an inn in his forties and despite his age, I can sense that he is no ordinary man.
He is wearing his white formal attire with a black bow tie on his neck. He wears his black slim pants which fit him and pairs them with black leather shoes. He has black hair but has a bit of white hair and it might be because of his age or maybe stress.
The guild lacks security but since no robbery has occurred then the guild master must have some shadow guards or the guild master himself is the one who secures or guard the loot.
The guild master might be at least as strong as the guild master in the adventurer guild.
If I use my experience to determine the guild master's choice or weapon then it must be a sword since he can detect slight changes in his surroundings such as the time where I cast my [Shadow Move] skill to change the order of the shadows in the room.
He noticed the bizarre changes of the shadows even though I only move the shadows by only a centimeter.
He must've gone through a lot of training to achieve such perfection in detection.
If I fight the guild master of the merchant guild then I can defeat him in one blow.
I didn't defeat the dragon king for anything.
It would be an embarrassment for the dragon king if the one who defeated him got defeated by a mere human.
We handed our goods to the guild master and he examines them for a minute before he confirms that they are not counterfeit goods since it happens a lot whenever they are buying goods sold by strangers such as ourselves.
A group of bandits raids the guild in broad daylight which means that they must not be afraid of being arrested.
I have expected that there will be bandits raiding in here because of lack of security but I didn't expect that it will be that early to occur.
My teammates start to prepare their weapon, execute a fighting stance and start to attack the bandits but I signal them to stop since I want to witness the guild master fight.
If I see him fight the bandits then I can gauge how strong he is.
Even if he is strong, he can't be stronger than me and I'm sure of it.
The guild master charges himself towards the group of bandits and he conjures a sword made out of his mana.
The guild master wields the blue mana sword, casts magic that strengthens his magic power, and slashes the sword to one of the bandits which killed the bandit in one blow, splitting the bandit into two.
"Shouldn't we arrest them instead of killing them? We can still torture them afterward to make them spill information about who hired them.", I ask the merchant guild master.
"You are still a young man so you can't understand this cruel world. Do you think they won't commit suicide after we capture them?", The guild master answers my question while slashing his sword to another bandit which cuts the bandit into two, killing the bandit in the process.
I activate my killing intent and the atmosphere of the merchant guild starts to become uneasy as I release my intense killing intent.
The guild master and the bandits are shocked by the intensity of my killing intent and they think that I wouldn't achieve such a level if I hadn't murdered a lot of people.
"I mean that we are too kind to let them have a quick death... Shouldn't we at least make them suffer and have a painful death instead?!", I reply to the guild master while letting out a wide happy smile but it becomes creepy and frightening as I am releasing my killing intent.
My smile can be interpreted as a murderer who is enjoying torturing his victims.
I have lived in a cruel world since I am a genius so it is impossible for me not to meet a lot of people who want to kill me.
'This kid... I am not that cruel when I was his age... He must have suffered more than what I had experienced in the past.', The guild master thought to himself.
"Who is this kid!!! He can be seen as a monster who enjoys torturing his victims!!! We weren't paid to deal with a monster such as him!!!", One of the bandits yell in fear after experiencing my killing intent.
I cast [Shadow Monarch Domain] and the room suddenly turns dark. The room is filled with a lot of shadows.
I cast [Shadow Bind], a lot of Shadow clones are formed from the shadows and all of the bandits inside the room are hold by the shadow clones.
"Will we receive additional money from the guild after we send this bandit into the guild?", I ask my teammates.
"I think our pay depends on the crimes that this bandit had committed in the past.", Zale says to me.
"Looks like we will have a big feast tonight!", I say to my teammates.
They all show expression of happiness after I tell them that we are going to eat a lot for our dinner.
"Guild master, will you also give us money for arresting the bandits?", I ask the guild master.
The guild master is in deep thought then he says, "I will pay you 5 big golds for taking care of these bandits."
"Thank you a lot! I will make these bandits unconscious so that they won't struggle when we bring them into the guild.", I say to the guild master while karate chopping the bandits behind their neck using my hand which puts them into sleep.
[Magic Dispel]! I chant and the room brightens after the dark shadows that are in the room disappear.
The guild master gives us 10 white gold coins and 5 big gold coins.
After receiving the money, we drag the bodies of the bandits and left the Merchant Guild.
I cast [Gate] and a white shimmering light in the shape of an opened door and we drag the bodies of the bandits into the portal I made and now we are in Eldion, Adventurer's Guild.
We enter the Adventurer's Guild and we are surprised that the King of the human kingdom and the beastman kingdom are inside the guildhall.
The human king and the beastman king are discussing with the guild master about something.
We go to the guild master and the human king greets us.
"Good day to you, heroes! You are here just in time. We are discussing the meeting with the demon prince and who is also known as the demon hero. He betrayed his father since he doesn't want to start a war with us so he seeks an alliance with us.", The human king says.
"I don't care about that. I alone am enough to defeat the Demon Lord! If you give us a huge sum of money then I might change my mind!", I answer them showing my uninterested expression.
The human king starts to get furious about my attitude but the beastman king suggests him to calm down since he doesn't want the human kingdom to be in ruins.
The beastman king knows that I can destroy any kingdom that will displease me so he tries to calm down the human king.
The human king starts to calm down and he asks, "How much do you want?"
"I want your daughter's hand in marriage!", I answer the human king's question.
I then feel a killing intent from Aerin. She is serious about killing me that he wants to slice me into pieces.
"I'm just joking! I already have a fiancee and I'm not planning on making a harem! I need at least 5 big platinum coins.", I answer the king's question.
The king's expression turns grim and he starts to cough out blood after hearing my request.
"Fi-fi-ve bi-big pla-platinum co-coins!!!!! That's equal to five thousand white gold coins and now you want me to pay that huge amount!!! It is equal to ten years of income from the kingdom's accumulated tax income.", The human king exclaims while still coughing out some blood.
"Hiring my help is expensive. I have at least 1 percent of the demon lord's current power. I might defeat the demon lord in just a year!", I reply to the human king and I boast about my power.
"Fine! I will pay half of it first and I will give the other half if you finish the task!", The human king says.
"We don't have to worry about Zale's appetite since we have five year's worth of money! Thank me later!", I announce to all of my teammates.
