The next day, Samantha didn't attend school. As far as I knew, she had a perfect attendance record. What made her end that streak today? I didn't care.

But maybe I did?

I wasn't paying attention during class. I kept thinking about why she wasn't there. I was just overthinking things. I couldn't help but be worried for her. The conversation I overheard the other day made me feel concerned for her safety. I should just drop it.

During lunch break I sat at the tree we usually sit at. Waiting for her. Hoping she will just magically appear in front of my eyes listening to her music and smiling. She didn't.

After ten minutes I gave up waiting and pulled a cigarette out instead. That surely would take my mind off of things. She's a strange girl and no matter what she will haunt your thoughts all day and night long. The cigarette didn't do much but I didn't have much time to ponder over that bc the bell rang. I should just leave it alone.

But I surely did not like Samantha Nichole.

Or did I?
