43 Protecting Them

Gev and Kaxs went inside of Lei's room and saw Lei already woke up. Lei immediately saw them and smile. She started looking for the Macchiato that Kaxs bought for her. Gev thought that this must happen before. That, whenever Lei had her panic attack, Kaxs will always bring Lei's favorite drink.

Gev and Kaxs nodded to each other and looked at Chase and Adam. Lei doesn't really see the hidden message of them. Chase and Adam just nodded and kissed Lei saying that they're just going to arrange some papers. Lei smiled and continue ranting to Kaxs about something.

As Chase, Adam, and Gev went outside, Noah was also intrigued and felt that this will be related to Lei.

"I'm just going to buy some coffee," Noah said to Lei. He dashed outside and saw Gev, Chase, and Adam with a solemn expression. 'What are they're talking about?' he thought.

"I'm not going to hide this from you too but we… ahem, I mean Kaxs and I went outside to buy something and had a weird feeling." Gev said seriously.

Chase and Adam became curious about what he's about to say. This is the first time they meet Gev so they don't know if they can trust Gev, but when he and Kaxs nodded to each other, maybe they're really close to the point of Kaxs entrusting Gev on this matter.

"What weird feeling?" Adam is the one who recovered from his thought.

"That someone is watching us," Gev said with a worried expression. Chase and Adam was shocked. Chase covered his mouth and started trembling, while Adam took his phone outside and dialed someone. Gev just watches them. When he saw Adam's face became cold, the phone call must be a piece of bad news.

"He's out," Adam reported coldly. Chase just couldn't take the news and his knees gave out but Adam immediately catches him.

Chase looked at Adam. "H-he will definitely take Lei from us." The tears are streaming down on Chase's face. "That person is smart and he will do anything just to take Lei from us. What he did is already unforgivable. 12 years in prison is not enough! That person has been diagnosed already with a mental disorder, why did they let him go!?"

As Gev watched them, he somehow already pictured what just happened. Adam is trying to keep Chase calm because he was pretty agitated.

Gev thought that the person they're both talking about is smart. Well, based on a psychological fact, most of the criminals are smart and clever. "How long is that guy out?"

"2 days ago," Adam said.

"And he already found Lei." 2 days is fast enough. "When Lei's already okay, don't let her go outside for a couple of days. We need to find that guy as soon as possible because he is a threat to Lei. I'll contact some mental health organization for some help."

"I'm a member of some Mental Health Organization," Chase said and was now calm. "I'm a psychologist after, I couldn't control my feeling just now so I broke down for a second. You can count me in this matter."

"I have a friend in FBI so they can protect Lei from the dark," Adam said and started calling someone again.

Gev smiled. Looks like Lei found a wonderful parent. Now, all Gev can do is track that b*astard. It will definitely won't be easy because his opponent is a criminal with a brilliant mind but he won't lose. If Kaxs will protect Lei, then he also will protect Lei.
