Ceasefire

Her guess was never wrong if she let Edward around her family for longer. Edward had already built a coalition with her brothers. This cold war is certain to end with another truce.

"You agree, right Jay?" June asked, startling Jayna who was only seen stirring the food on her plate.

"Oh yes, it's up to you sis." Jayna forced a smile.

"You can stay here tonight. Tomorrow we can stop by your house first when we leave to pick up your things and necessities during the trip." Add Jade.

"Oh, you don't have to. I always carry clothes and other necessities everywhere in my car." Edward immediately interrupted. Jayna chokes at the plan to invite Edward to join their family trip.

"Wow, that's good, right? Even better then. So we don't have to hassle." Jade said.

"I have finished eating. Shall I go to my room first?" Jayna left her seat at the dining table.

Everyone just stared at Jayna who left. They continued the chat without realizing that Jayna was very disturbed by the addition of members of their family trip.

'Edward isn't that self-conscious anyway!' Jayna grumbled.

As for Edward, he thought that this trip could improve his friendship with Jayna.

Jayna took the cell phone from her pocket, briefly checked the notification, then threw it on the bed with a loud snort.

'Harry is the same as Edward, he doesn't know the timing' Jayna threw her body on the bed after seeing a short message from Harry on the notification bar.

Jayna pensively looked up at the ceiling. Her mind flashed a faint image that made her frown.

"What again now?" Jayna got up immediately from her bed then held her head.

Jayna seemed to see someone in her mind, but it wasn't clear. Just a flash then disappeared in the gray fog. Jayna thought hard, trying to find the memory of someone who had just passed in her mind. Jayna tried hard, but she couldn't find any answer in her mind. It felt like a very familiar face.

"What else is this?" Jayna's right arm elbow rests on her right knee in a cross-legged sitting position while holding her forehead and closing her eyes. Jayna rubbed her face hard.

'Please don't be weird, mind. It's been 6 years since I've been free from nightmares, please don't do it again.' Jayna massaged her forehead which wasn't sore at all.

It's true, Jayna hasn't had nightmares anymore since moving to Kalderaan to study. So it's not unusual for Jayna to feel worried if nightmares come back to haunt her.

'Calm down Jayna, this can't be like before.' This time her dreams only happen occasionally.

'Maybe you are too tired. Remember, this only happens when you sleep because you're tired." Jayna sat up straight and still in a cross-legged position, giving herself confidence that this was just a normal nightmare that only happened because of the fatigue her body was experiencing.

Jayna lay back down on the bed, while blowing air from her cheeks through her mouth. There was a knock on the door. Edward called out to Jayna.

"Jay, can I talk to you for a minute?" Edward asked politely.

Jayna didn't even move from her bed to open the door for Edward. Jayna was just siJayt, waiting for Edward to think she was asleep.

"I know you haven't slept Jay, let's talk for a moment." Edward knocked again.

'Shit!' Jayna cursed and hit the bed.

"Yes." Jayna answered curtly and got up lazily towards the door.

Edward smiled as Jayna opened the door. Jayna stared at Edward's smiling face when she opened the door. Jayna's heart almost jumped from its place because she was fascinated by the smile of the handsome man in front of her.

'Shit! So handsome!' Jayna's cheeks flushed.

"That's more like it. May I come in?" Edward bared his neatly lined teeth.

"No!" Reject Jayna Firmly.

"Jay..." Edward suddenly felt lethargic to hear Jayna's answer.

"Just talk outside. We're going to the backyard!" Jayna walked towards the garden behind Jade's house and accidentally bumped into Edward's arm. Edward pushed a little, he was not angry because he understood Jayna's behavior at that time. Then Edward matched the steps beside Jayna.

"What do you want to talk about?" Jayna to the point of Edward.

"Easy Jay, sit down first." Edward invited Jayna to sit on a bench made of rattan.

Edward and Jayna sat side by side on a park bench, in front of them was a koi fish pond. The sound of gurgling water falling into the pool broke the siJayce of the night. The colorful fish swam back and forth even though it was very late, occasionally some of them stopped in a corner with their mouths opening and closing to take in oxygen.

"About what happened this morning, Jay. I'm sorry..." Edward hesitated.

"Hmmh .." Jayna just quipped with a clearing.

"Jay, come on.." Edward whined beside Jayna.

"What?" Jayna replied curtly.

"Don't be angry anymore, okay?" Edward hooked his arm around Jayna's.

This is another side of Edward when he is with Jayna. This side makes Jayna feel special at a certain point because only in front of her, Edward acts like a child.

"Give me one reason why I should stop being angry with you?" Jayna pretended not to care.

"Jay, what other excuse do you need? I am your only friend. People who are always there for you. The only handsome man who still sticks with you who so annoying." Edward confidently answered.

"Are you really going to apologize or are you just bragging?" Jayna turned to Edward with a cynical face.

"Just kidding Jay. The reason is… I feel bad when you're angry. I can't talk to anyone other than you Jay." Edward looked serious this time.

"Euh... It's really disgusting, Ed." Jayna shuddered at Edward's words.

"So? When am I doing something right in your eyes Jay? As Always, wrong." Edward stretched his legs out.

"Come on, Ed. You better go home. If you want to apologize, you should know what mistake you made. What are you apologizing for? if you don't know what mistake you made." Jayna just stared straight at the pool.

"If you just need someone to talk to, you can call your girlfriend." Add Jayna.

"Jay, you are a different existence from a girlfriend. You are the first person that gave me pure friendship. Even though you always push away those who come close. But you always care about other people's misfortunes." Edward was sluggish.

"It's nothing special. I only see an advantage in being your friend." Jayna casually replied.

Plak.

Edward hit Jayna's shoulder lightly.

"Ouch" Jayna was shocked.

"Jay, you are so annoying!" Edward was annoyed with Jayna's answer.

"Why is it? Very sentimental." Jayna rubbed her shoulder which didn't hurt.

"should you say that, seriously?" Edward protested.

"Ever since, it's been serious. You're just being poetic. It's like a top poet. Disgusting!" Jayna sneered.

"Jay, I swear. Do you actually think that my existence is important in your life?" Edward straightened himself.

"As long as you bring profit to the company, you are always important." Jayna replied casually. She knew that wasn't the answer Edward wanted. but Jayna just pretended not to notice. It was fun for her, when she annoyed the man in front of her.

"JAYNA ROSSE!!!" Edward raised an octave in his voice.

"CLAUDIUS EDWARD DMITRI" Jayna replied in the same tone.

"Jay, can you not…?" Jayna cut Edward's sentence immediately.

"Can not!" Cut Jayna.

"Oh my gosh, Jayna. Fortunately I love you." Edward muttered.

"What? I can't hear you?" Jayna pretended not to hear.

"Agh!" Edward was annoyed.

"Are you done?" Asked Jayna.

"Have you been forgiven?" Edward asked back. Jayna nodded.

Edward hugged Jayna. "Thank you Jayna"

"Getaway!" Jayna pushed Edward who was just grinning.

Edward almost heard the pounding in Jayna's chest which made her awkward in front of Edward.

"Have you?" Jayna held Edward who still wanted to hug her again.

"Yes" Edward held both of Jayna's hands that held his body.

"You know that I hate this kind of skinship, Ed?" Jayna threw Edward's hand away.

"I know you so well." Edward smiled slyly.

"Far away. Or I'm gonna slam you!" Jayna threatens Edward.

"Mmmh mmmh, I want to hug you. Come to Papa darling." with a sly smile on his face, Edward deliberately teased Jayna.

"I'll kick you Ed!" Jayna stood away from Edward.

"Where are you going? Come to Papa." Edward stood with his hands open.

"Are you kidding me? Getaway!" Jayna took off her sandals and threw them at Edward.

They began to melt in laughter and went back to sitting on the park bench.

"You don't want to be hugged by this handsome man, Jay?" Edward gets a smack from Jayna.

"NEVER WILL!"

"Are you sure? you hugged me earlier.." Edward teased Jayna.

Jayna was sit. She remembered her dream again.

"What is it Jay? Tell me, please.." Edward looked at Jayna's face seriously.

"Nightmare, Ed. It's like drowning." Jayna choked.
