5 Our Confession

It has been 3 months after the school field trip accident where Mera got lost in the forest. When the time we get back to the inn she apologize to everyone for making them worried and everything went back to normal.

In this past month too my relationship with Sonohara got more closer all thanks to Mera and who knows she is actually a very smart person.

Even Sonohara who always got first in every exam got beat by her on our last exam. This past month we also went to the next town Festival's called 'Hanabata Matsuri'.

Well the one who invite us is Arima-san by the way and by the way he's behaving I already knew he had something else on plan that is to hang out with Mera.

I didn't even expected of this when I was searching for both of them thinking that we were separate in the crowdedness got into an unexpected event.

At a quiet place Arima and Mera were standing facing each other face. Arima then blurted out his feeling's that he have hold since the first day they met but he was rejected.

I don't know why but deep down in my heart I felt a big relieved when Mera rejected him. I wonder why I feel that.

"Hatake-kun, are you ready?" ask Sonohara toward Seiji who is daydreaming right now.

"O-oh, yeah let's go." Replied Seiji his mind still in another world.

Today Seiji and Sonohara went to visit Sonohara little sister or known as her cousin who is sick and was held in the hospital.

Seiji had made a promise to visit her one day and today is the day.

While waiting on a bus stop Seiji start a conversation.

"So, should we buys something to give to her first?"

"I didn't think we should buy anything though just you visiting her is more than enough for her."

Sonohara replying to Seiji question with smile on her face.

"Is that so? Then I will be happy to visit her everyday if that the case."

"I'm sure she will be so happy if you do that."

With that the bus that they were waiting arrive.

The both of them then rode it and drop off in front of the hospital.

"We have arrived now wait here for a moment."

"…Okay."

Asking for that Sonohara goes and went to the counter.

Seiji sitting on the bench waiting for Sonohara look around the hospital with his eye.

That when his eye got focused on a girl that look like Mera passing by the hallway.

(Is that Mera? Am I imagining thing now?)

Seiji question himself and he then glimpse back to search for the girl but she is nowhere to be found.

(I guess it was really just my imagination)

When Seiji was still wondering about the girl Sonohara had already done with her stuff.

"So, should we go then?"

"A-ah Y-yeah."

The both of them walk the hallway and arrived at the '664 room'.

Sonohara Fuyumi is written on the plate of the side of the door.

Sonohara then knocked and opened the door.

"Fuyumi, may I come in."

"Yeah, you can come in."

The voice that were replying Yuki question is so small almost can't be hear at all.

Yuki then goes in the room followed by Seiji.

It was dark when Seiji entered the room he can't barely see the girl.

"…Haven't I told you that you need to light up this room a little bit."

Saying that Yuki goes and switch the light on and opened the curtain to let the light's in.

"…But I like it when it was dark. It looks like I'm in my own world and no one could enter."

Said Fuyumi with her small voice.

Seiji who got curious with who is the small voice owner move closer to the bed.

He then see a girl figure sitting on the bed wearing glasses.

Her front hair is long that almost hide her eye's.

Fuyumi noticing Seiji moving closer to her move her body back a bit. Then change her view to Yuki asking for answer.

"Oh, I almost forgot to tell that you are having a guest."

"I think you still remember him right? This is Hatake Seiji the one that played with us when we were kids.

"Nice to meet you again…"

"um…"

Seiji is unconfident on what to call the girl with.

That when a small voice coming out of her voice saying.

"Fuyumi…"

"Eh?"

"Just call me Fuyumi."

"Is it okay for me to call you that."

"Its okay…"

Seiji hearing her said that just smile at her.

"Well then, I will do as you say Fuyumi."

Blushing a little Fuyumi speak out.

"T-thanks…"

With that Seiji sat down on the chair that were near the bed and try to start a conversation.

"So Fuyumi I hear that you are in the same age as us aren't ya?"

Hearing Seiji question Fuyumi only nodded her head.

"Is that so. Aren't you actually feel sad. I mean like you can't even go to school and do other stuff."

"Well I'm not really felt sad because I've already get used to it…"

Said Fuyumi looking down on her bedsheets. Seiji looking at he felt a bit pity.

"Even if I got to go to school like other person I think no one would ever get near me…"

"I didn't even think it will be like that at all."

"Why would you said so?"

"Because when you go to school I will be the first person to be your friends."

Hearing Seiji saying that somehow lighten up Fuyumi heart.

"I-is that right?"

"Yeah, I will really became your friends."

Feeling a little embarrassed Fuyumi hide her face under the blankets.

"T-thank you…"

"You're welcome."

Said Seiji smiling towards the hiding Fuyumi.

Seiji then look at his watch. The watch is showing the time is 5:37.

"Oh no, I need to go home now. Its getting late."

"Eh, are you already want to go home?"

Ask Fuyumi upset about Seiji who want to go home already.

"Yeah I need something to do at home. That's why I need to rush."

"Is that so…"

"W-will you come and visit me again?"

Fuyumi ask Seiji if he want to visit her again next time. Seiji hearing those word make a smile and turn to face Fuyumi.

"If you want I can come and visit you here everyday."

"R-really?"

"Yeah, why would I lie to you."

"You promise?"

"Yeup, I promise to come and visit you."

Said Seiji while connecting both of their finger.

Fuyumi just nodded her head and smile when Seiji said those word. Fuyumi face were sorrowful when Seiji first look at it but in the end he was relieved to see her smile.

Somehow Seiji felt a familiar feeling when he see Fuyumi smile. Yeah a familiar feeling when he see Mera smile.

"Well then let me send you to the door."

Said Yuki leading the way

"See you tomorrow, Fuyumi."

"See you too, Seiji."

Then both Seiji and Yuki came out of the room. Yuki walking beside Seiji look at his face and laugh a bit.

"W-what is there something funny with my face?"

"Nothing, it just funny to see how you interact with my little sister."

"Ah, is that so. Honestly even me myself didn't know how I did it."

"It just like I have known her for a long time that I can make a normal conversation with her."

Saying Seiji while making a move with his hand showing that it was not pretty normal for him.

"Hehe, well other than that I just want to say thanks."

"Thanks? For what?"

"Thank you for making my little sister smile again. It have been awhile since I last saw her smile."

"I didn't really do anything though. I just came and say what I think is right."

"Even if that so, you are the one who make my little sister look happy and I hope that you can make me happy too."

Seiji stop awhile and try to hide his face with his hand because he was embarrassed. Yuki realizing her words start to blushed too.

"I-I d-didn't mean i-it in a weird way…I-i mean…"

Seiji watching Yuki getting flustered burst to chuckle.

"Is that so then, I will try my best and make you happy too."

Yuki just blushed after Seiji said the words.

The both of them parted away at the station bus leaving Seiji alone in the bus.

Seiji arrive at home after 40 minute in the bus. He then reached for his house doorknob but before he do that Mera had already opened it.

"Darling, Welcome home." Shout Mera after jumping and hugging Seiji.

"M-Mera? What are you doing?"

"Can't you see I'm welcoming you."

"Well I can see that but my question is why did you just jump and hug me."

Mera then getting up from Seiji and sighed.

"It's a practice you know."

"Practice? For what?"

"Well when you have a better relationship with Yuki and probably married her you need to prepare for this kind of situation."

"M-m-m-married?!"

"Yeah, well for now can you enter the house I'm getting hungry."

"Ah, yeah I almost forgot that. Sorry for making you waiting."

"Its okay and for that you need to make my favourite food today."

"Yeah yeah."

The reason why Mera is here is because the other month she was kicked out from her house because she didn't pay the house bill and for that she came to me and now she is leaving with me here for awhile.

"So how was it."

"How was what?"

"Your date with Yuki was it fun?"

Ask Mera while having a grin on her face.

Seiji looking at Mera as like that he was expected for that question.

"You know that it not really a date right. We were just visiting her little sister."

"Eh… is that so…"

"By the way, what was your thought?"

"About what?"

"About Yuki little sister."

Seiji put his hand under his chin and think a little.

"Um, She is kind of weird."

"Huh? What kind of answer is that."

"And her voice is small. Maybe because she never us her voice very much I guess."

"And then she is kind of small…"

"…Like you."

Mera throw a pillow at Seiji when he said that.

"I'm not small at all!"

"Y-yeah…"

"Well is that it?"

"What?"

"Is that the only thing that you thought about her?"

Again Seiji put his hand under his chin.

"Oh, I just remember that she is kind of familiar with someone I know."

"Who?"

"It was you…"

"Eh?"

"Which part?"

Seiji then grin at Mera as like he just remember a happy thing.

"It was your smile that look the same."

"Uweh?!"

Mera let out a weird sound out of her voice because she was embarrassed after hearing Seiji said those words.

She then hide her face with a pillow but you can somehow knew that she was smiling under the pillow.

"Mera the dinner is ready."

"Ah, yeah I'm coming."

Seiji putting the dishes that was make by him on the table. Mera coming from the sofa sit down on the chair near the table.

"For today dishes as I have promises your favourite."

"Ta-dah It's 'Yakisoba'."

"Wow, Excellent job Seiji for that I should praise you."

"I will gladly take it."

"Oh, before I forgot did you came to the hospital today."

Mera who had already dig in the dishes stop to answer Seiji question.

"Ummm, I just stayed at home for today. Why did you ask?"

"Oh, Is that so. It was nothing actually I maybe have mistaken you for the other person."

Seiji still wandering is it really his imagination when he saw the girl is Mera or the other person.

Then the next day as promises Seiji came and vist Fuyumi everyday. He had been doing this for 3 week now.

Today after school Seiji went and visit her again. This time Yuki didn't tag along because she had another business to do.

Seiji arriving at Fuyumi room knocked the door.

"Fuyumi it is me Seiji."

"You can come in."

Seiji holding the doorknob slide it open.

"Welcome."

Seiji for a moment was stunt for a view of a new Fuyumi.

He out of curious asked her.

"Did you cut your hair?"

"Yeah, Is it weird?"

"N-no, in more specific I actually like it."

Seiji get embarrassed by saying those word. Fuyumi who just seeing him getting embarrassed smile beautifully.

"Is that so, Then thank you Seiji"

Again Seiji was stunt by Fuyumi beautifulness and somehow he saw an image of Mera on his mind when he watch Fuyumi smile.

"B-by the way what is you holding on your hand?"

Seiji asked Fuyumi a question to clear his mind.

"Oh this?"

"This is a novel that I wrote."

"Wait you wrote a novel?"

"Yeah when I was bored I wrote this to kill sometime."

"Can I read it?"

"Eh?"

Fuyumi is getting a bit embarrassed to let Seiji read it.

"It wasn't that good."

"Even if it wasn't good I still want to read it because this was wrote by you."

Getting more embarrassed Fuyumi gave up and hand the novel.

"Thank you well then let me read it for a bit."

"The main character is Mera Song Violet…"

"Eh?"

Seiji as like he just realized that it was a coincidence or it was not that the main character name is same as Mera.

He then think back that Mera does said that the name she was using is not her real name.

Getting more confused he decide to ask Fuyumi about it.

"Hey Fuyumi did you think about the Main character name yourself or…"

"I didn't really make it myself, I make a reference out of other people names too."

"I-is that so?"

"Ah, by the way her character is a joy girl who doesn't care what the world is thinking about her and she fought for what she think is right and also I make half of her character from Yuki."

"R-really, I don't know why but I kind of knew someone with that personality other than Sonohara but she is clumsy."

"Really!"

Fuyumi move her body forward a bit as excited hearing Seiji words. Their face is very close right now that it looks like they are about to kiss.

Realizing that both of their face is close. The both of their face gets red and they back away.

The situation somehow gets awkward

Seiji wants to change the topic but realize that he needs to go home now.

"Ah, again when I'm with you I forget about the time."

"Ah you're right its already this late."

"Well then, with this I will take my leaving."

"Yeah, U-um Seiji?"

"Yes."

"You will come again tomorrow right?"

"I promise didn't I."

With a smile Seiji said those word. Fuyumi just nodded and grin at Seiji.

As always Seiji come to the hospital the next day but he can't Visit Fuyumi right now because she is having a check-up.

Yuki who informed Seiji about it somehow looking down and not energetic. Its look like she is having trouble.

For now Seiji doesn't want to bother even if its hurt him or her. He make the decision to go home.

That night Yuki called Seiji on the phone. She ask Seiji if he can visit Fuyumi tomorrow because she needs to do other things. Her voice sound heavy. Seiji gladly accept it.

Tomorrow when Seiji arrive he stand outside the room and it looks like the room is dark from the outside.

Seiji was having a trouble to open the door but he slowly open the door to make sure he didn't surprise Fuyumi. Seiji then hear a voice of girl crying.

He immediately open the curtain to see Fuyumi is crying.

The sound of the curtain were open surprised Fuyumi and she then tries to get back her composure and try to welcome Seiji as always but her tears didn't stop.

Seiji looking at Fuyumi who is crying remind him of Mera when she was alone in the cave. He immediately hug her tight.

"S-seiji?"

"Shhh, Its okay I'm here."

"N-no its okay you don't have to do this."

With a sorrow voice she replied asking for Seiji to let her go but Seiji still hug her.

"Its okay you know when you have hard time you can always talk to me."

"Even it maybe going to be a burden for me I still want you talk about it cause I want to carry the same burden as you."

"And I want you to know whatever happened I will always be here to give happiness to you."

Hearing Seiji word Fuyumi burst to tear. She let out everything that she was holding on.

After Fuyumi calm down Seiji let go of his hug.

"Well then can you tell me what happen."

Fuyumi resisting on telling Seiji the truth open her mouth.

"It was about my sickness."

"Your sickness?"

"Yeah the doctor have confirmed that my sickness is an unknown sickness and there is still no medicine for it."

"And they also predicted that I may have another 6 month to live."

Seiji was shocked to learn the truth that Fuyumi is having a short time on life. But then he remember his father words.

"Well then I guess the only choice left is to live your life to the fullest."

"Eh, what do you mean by that?"

"It was only a prediction so why you should think about it."

"In my opinion in this short amount of time you should go out and do the thing you want to. Like going to school…"

"Or confess your feelings…"

Fuyumi blushed a little hearing the words confess your feelings

"It was a preparation so if you really going to die, you die having no regret."

"As my father said before he died…"

"A great machine from crazy came hardwork and a great person came from their crazy will on living."

"So even if you knew that you're going to die just focus on living and do your best in life."

"So what if you fail, it only make your spirit raise higher making we won't stop living and believing of miracle."

"A miracle where there is an infinite of future that we can get by following the right way."

After making such a touching speech Seiji turn his view towards Fuyumi.

"And I want to believe in the miracle in the future where you are alive."

After sitting on her bed silently hear Seiji tried to prove the prediction is wrong she spoke.

"Will you really be happy where the future is the future that I'm alive?"

"I'm not just going to be happy…I'm going to be overjoyed You know."

Seeing Seiji looking cheerful. Fuyumi who was having a hard time broke to a smile.

"Then, would you like to find it with me…"

"The miracle."

"Obviously 100%"

Said Seiji while showing his thumb up. Fuyumi who looking at Seiji action show a warm smile.

On the other side of the door Yuki was standing behind it hearing that Fuyumi is happy again she also smile feeling relieved.

The next day Seiji came over again and this time he set his mind on searching how to help Fuyumi in finding the miracle

Arriving at the door he knocked and open the door in an instant.

Entering the room, He saw Fuyumi didn't wear her glasses for today. Seiji then wandered is she the Black haired Mera.

"Today you didn't wear your glasses?"

"Are you trying to change your image?"

"Ah, Actually from the very first start I didn't even need them."

"I just wear it as an accessories."

"Is that so, Oh by the way what are you writing."

Seiji pointed his finger toward the paper that Fuyumi write on it.

"Oh this, it's a list of what I want to do before I die."

She pick the paper up from the table and show it to Seiji.

"The first thing I want to do is to go to school

The second one is I want to go to a trip school

The third one is I want to go to a festival

The fourth one is I want to confess my feelings

And the last one is I want to get married."

After she finished reading the list Fuyumi look at Seiji to know his opinion.

"Is that the only thing that you want to do?"

"Well yeah, ooh and also I would like to try 'Yakisoba'."

"Why 'Yakisoba'."

"Because I hear from Yuki that it was delicious."

"And now I want to know about your opinion about the list."

"Well I guess for the start this list is a great idea."

"But to get married isn't that a bit hard to make it."

Fuyumi hearing Seiji said that pouting a little.

"Didn't you the one who said that nothing is impossible for us to reach as long as we work hard."

"I think you had change the meaning about my yesterday speech though."

"Well we shouldn't really mind that now."

"For now I want to ask you about Yuki."

"Eh?"

"Do you love her?"

"EHHHH?!"

"W-wh-wh-what kind of question are you asking me?"

Seiji getting flustered after he got asked by Fuyumi.

"Just answer me honestly. What do you think of my sister?"

"I-i think th-that I-i might l-like her."

"Well then if that the case how about you confess your feelings!"

Overexcited Fuyumi just shout the word.

"Slow down a bit your voice."

For a reason Seiji missed the small voice Fuyumi.

"Why would I do that?"

"You are the one who said if don't take any action you will regret it."

"Again I think I do said that but when you said it became different."

"Well lets push it aside for a moment so you do have feelings for her right."

"I-I g-guess?"

Fuyumi let out a chuckle after confirming that Seiji having a feelings toward her sister.

"With this I have confirmed that both of them is in love with each other and I will make sure to united both of them."

Fuyumi mutter the words under her breath but still gets Seiji attention.

"Did you just said something."

"Nothing, I didn't say anything."

Giving of a big smile Fuyumi tried to hide her true intentions. Seiji getting confused only scratched his head.

That night Yuki came and visit Fuyumi at the hospital.

"How are your feelings?"

"As you can see I'm feeling good."

"Is that so, was Seiji being here really change the mood."

When Yuki bring story about Seiji Fuyumi got startled a bit but then got her composure back.

"Hey, Yuki you do like Seiji right."

"Eh?"

"If you do like him then you should confess your feeling right now."

"Huh?"

"You want to know what I learn today…"

"If you didn't take any action someday you will regret not taking it."

Yuki who was slowly getting embarrassed calm down a bit.

"And the one who said those thing is Seiji."

Yuki embarrassed raise up back.

Fuyumi then reached for Yuki smartphones and search for Seiji name and click on it.

The phone then is dialing Seiji number. Fuyumi throm the phone back at Yuki asking her to answer it.

"If you really like him this is the right time."

"Do I really need to do this?"

Fuyumi just nodded and shows a thumb's up with both of her finger.

Then Seiji answer the phone.

"Hello."

"U-um Hatake-kun."

"Y-yeah."

"Can we met for awhile."

"Why so sudden?"

"I don't know I just want to tell you something important."

"Is that so then I will met you at the park."

"O-okay… See you there"

"Yeah."

With that Yuki turn off the call. Fuyumi who was only hearing the whole conversation just grin all the time.

Yuki then let out her breath.

"What are you standing there for… GO!"

"Whatever happens I will always support you."

After getting a push by Fuyumi Yuki dashed out of the room and arrive at the meeting place.

Seiji arrive a couple of minute after.

"Sorry for making you wait."

"So what is that important thing you want to talk about?"

Yuki is hesitate to tell her true feelings toward Seiji but She have make decision to confess after getting a push by Fuyumi.

"Actually I ask you to come here is to talk about my true feelings."

"Eh?"

"Ac-actually I I have b-been l-like…"

"Hm, Like?"

"L-like…"

Yuki then take a deep breath and let out her feelings.

"I actually have been liking you from when we still a kids!"

Saying that Seiji got surprised a bit. He didn't think that Fuyumi will really confess her feelings.

"Well, w-what is your response."

"I- I too have been like you from when we still kids."

"R-really?"

"Y-yeah."

A bit of happy can be seen on Yuki face but that is only for a moment.

"T-then…"

"But that was on the past…"

"Eh?"

"Now I've already like someone else."

"I don't know why but everytime I'm with her I felt so much peace and happiness."

"So I'm sorry for what I'm going to say next."

"I'm sorry but right now I'm in love with…"

"With Mera Violet!"

"So for that I'm sorry I need to turn down your confession."

Yuki hearing Seiji confession standing still quietly. She then give a bitter smile and open her mouth.

"Well then, what are you waiting for…"

"Go and tell her what you truly feel."

"Because if you didn't take any action fast you are going to suffer from it."

"You are not angry?"

"Why would I be angry. I'm happy that my friend is loving my bestfriend."

"And right now as what Fuyumi said I'm not having any regret by confessing my love towards you."

"So go and confess before its too late."

"Yeah!"

With that Seiji rushed home to confess his feeling towards Mera.

Half a way from the park he turned towards Yuki.

"Yuki! Thank you!"

"Heh, Just go you idiot."

Seiji then continued to run leaving Yuki alone in the park.

She then dial Fuyumi number and call her.

"Hello Yuki."

"Hello Fuyumi."

"So how was it the confession."

A couple of silence for a moment

"I got turned down."

With that the tears that Yuki was holding get out of her eyes.

On the other side Seiji is running to his home. In his mind right now is only about confessing his love.

He then arrive at his front door. Getting close to the door he rang the bell.

*ding dong*

"Yeah I'm coming."

Opening the door Mera was putting her head out of the door.

"S-Seiji? Didn't you was out before to meet with Yuki what's happen?"

*huff huff*

Seiji after running felt tired and tried to catch his breath.

"I-I have s-something to tell you."

Seiji said those word with a serious face making Mera curious a bit.

"I-I actually…"

"I actually have been liking you from the first time we met Mera!"

Those word that came out of Seiji surprised Mera but what surprised Mera more is the words that came out next.

"Or better I should say this…"

"I am in love with you from the first time we met…"

"Fuyumi…"

Fuyumi getting embarrassed hearing Seiji word smile with her face becoming red.

"You notice it pretty late, You idiot!"

"Me too have been in love with you from the first time we met..."

"Seiji!"
