14 Thank you, and goodbye my love...

"Was today's fun?" asked Jaeho. Both of them were sitting next to each other while looking at the city view with full of colourful lights.

"Yeah, so much fun~" answered Il Hwa with a smile.

"We've never been to an amusement park before for a date, am I right?" asked Il Hwa and Jaeho nodded. "I'm glad we went here today~" said Il Hwa with a smile.

"Yeah…." Said Jaeho and Il Hwa noticed that he seems sad.

"What's wrong?" asked Il Hwa but Jaeho shook his head. "Nothing… I'm just happy seeing you're here with me~" said Jaeho and gave her his dry smiles. From the looks of him, Il Hwa knows that he's gonna cry soon and therefore, she straight away hugged him tightly.

"I love you." Said Jaeho while hugging her.

"I love you too." Said Il Hwa.

-Our last day-

Il Hwa was lying on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She doesn't feel like waking up and all that she wants to do is lying on her bed, thinking that today will be the last day of her staying next to Jaeho. While she was so lost in thought, Jaeho knocked on her door and entered her room.

"Good morning~" greeted Jaeho as he went near her bed and kissed her forehead. Il Hwa felt like crying knowing that there will be no more kisses from him tomorrow. Jaeho who was sitting next to her on her bed noticed that Il Hwa does not utter any words and she was just staring at him.

"What's wrong?" asked Jaeho as he tucked a strand of her hair behind her ears.

Il Hwa shook her head and gave him her dry smiles. She sat up and caressed Jaeho's face with a smile.

"Missed me?" teased Jaeho. Il Hwa let out her small chuckle. "Yeah, I miss you." Answered Il Hwa.

"Alright come on, I made some breakfast and let's go out later~" said Jaeho as he got up from her bed and grabbed her hands and took her downstairs.

"Where are you taking me later?" asked Il Hwa as she sat down.

"Hmm I don't have any plans yet… might be, we just stop anywhere that looks fun~" answered Jaeho.

*and hoping that today will never ends* thought Jaeho and Il Hwa while having their breakfast. Both of them knew that today will be their last day together.

"Should we go to the beach?" asked Il Hwa "then we can watch the sunset together… how about that?" suggested Il Hwa.

"Watch the sunset?" asked Jaeho and Il Hwa nodded.

"Let's just spend our day today at the beach, please?" pleaded Il Hwa with her big doe eyes. Jaeho who couldn't resist her cuteness, and agreed.

***

Both of them were in the car on their way to the beach. Jaeho noticed that Il Hwa was looking at the view in amusement. Driving by the roadside beach, Il Hwa noticed that there's not many people. "It's winter I'm guessing there won't be many people at the beach today…" said Jaeho.

"That's okay… I just wanna spend time with you…" said Il Hwa.

A few minutes later, they have finally arrived. As soon as Jaeho parked his car, Il Hwa straight away opened the door and ran lightly to the beach.

"Jaeho, hurry!" called Il Hwa happily as she runs towards the beach. Jaeho who just locked his car noticed her cuteness from a far.

"arasseo!' shouted Jaeho and walked towards her.

"It's cold." Said Jaeho while standing next to Il Hwa. "You should wear more jacket…." Said Il Hwa. Suddenly, Jaeho went near her and gave her a back hug.

"But if I hug you like this, I feel warm…" said Jaeho while hugging her.

*can I not let you go today?* thought Jaeho.

Both of them were at the beach, spending their time together by having the meals at the nearby restaurant. Once it's almost sunset, both of them went back to the beach to watch the sunset together. Then, Jaeho brought Il Hwa near him and hold out his phone to take a selfie of them.

"Too bad that we couldn't get our photo together….." said Il Hwa sadly when she saw Jaeho was the only one in the photo.

"People might not see you but I know and will forever remember that you are standing right next to me in the photo." Said Jaeho and Il Hwa literally smiled hearing it and gave him a hug. And Jaeho hug her back. Tightly. Not wanting to let her go.

Both of them were watching the sunset together in silence.

***

Once the sun sets, both of them decided to go home. While they are on their way home, Jaeho stopped at the traffic light and Il Hwa noticed that the road seems so familiar to her. It was the road that she got into accident two years ago.

"Jaeho can you stop by the roadside?" asked Il Hwa suddenly.

"What-why?" asked Jaeho not liking the idea. Ever since Il Hwa got into an accident on this road, he rarely used this road but somehow, the way to go to the beach is only this way. He has no choice but to use this road.

"Please… let's stop for a while…" pleaded Il Hwa while holding his arms.

Jaeho let out a sigh and parked his car on the road side. Luckily, it's almost midnight and there's no car on the road. As soon as he parked, Il Hwa went out and straight away walked slowly towards the zebra crossing.

"Il Hwa-ah…" called Jaeho not liking the scene of Il Hwa walking towards the place where he had last seeing her smiles. He was following her from behind slowly when suddenly, Il Hwa stopped and stand at the centre of the zebra crossing.

"Il Hwa?" called Jaeho when suddenly, she turned the back of her heels with tears pooling in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" surprised Jaeho as he went near her and caressed her face gently. "I don't like being here… it reminds me of that day… and you're crying now…" said Jaeho softly.

"Jaeho-ah," called Il Hwa and hug him.

"I remember that day we were about to meet and have a date… I was about to cross the road when suddenly a truck coming out of nowhere hit me and run… the last thing I remember you were on the side of the road, having a phone call while looking at me…" said Il Hwa.

*you were already lifeless when I hold you* thought Jaeho remembering the scene.

"I was shouting asking people to call the ambulance…" said Jaeho while hugging her as he brushed her hair gently. "I was so afraid at that time that I keep on screaming, asking you to open your eyes… your face were pale and covered in blood…" said Jaeho. "I was so afraid to lose you…" added Jaeho and hug her tightly.

Il Hwa who was listening to him, dropped her tears on his jacket feeling sorry about it.

"I'm sorry I left you…" said Il Hwa as she broke the hug. Jaeho who saw the tears, he wiped it using his thumb.

"Will you promise me you won't leave me again?" asked Jaeho but Il Hwa give him her dry smiles.

"We both know that there will be no tomorrow of us being together…" said Il Hwa.

Jaeho was holding back his tears.

"But at least this time, before I'm gone, we managed to do a lot of things… and," said Il Hwa as she took his hands and intertwined it together with her. "You're right here by my side…" added Il Hwa.

"When I'm gone, I want you to promise me something." Said Il Hwa but Jaeho was just looking at her not uttering any word. Il Hwa knows that Jaeho doesn't want to her to leave but she can't. All she knows is that the she could be gone anytime by now.

"Jaeho-ah…" called Il Hwa as she too, was trying to hold back her tears.

"Promise me you won't skip your meals,"

"You will stay smile,"

"You won't cry,"

"And promise me you won't have any regrets." Said Il Hwa while holding his hands tightly.

"Il Hwa…" called Jaeho.

By the time he called her, he noticed that Il Hwa has started to fade away. He can no longer hold her hands, as his hands went through hers.

"No, please…" said Jaeho as he was trying to hold her again but he can't.

As for Il Hwa, she stays smiling while looking at him.

"Jaeho-ah, thank you so much for everything… I love you so much my love… I promise, you will be happy." Said Il Hwa.

"Il Hwa-ah…" called Jaeho.

"Goodbye, my love." said Il Hwa. Bit by bit, she started to fade away and gone from his sight. None of them knows that that night, was the last day of them being together and talk to each other.

"Il Hwa-ah!!" shouted Jaeho as he fell and sit on the road, crying. Not believing that Il Hwa had left him again.

"I love you my angel...." said Jaeho while crying.

Like how dandelion gone, flying away, Il Hwa was gone too. At first they stayed, but once someone blows them, they started to fly away to another place. A better place.

A year later….

Jaeho managed to get his smiles back. It's been a year since Il Hwa had left for a better place. Currently, Jaeho had become an office worker, working in a big organization. Just like how Il Hwa told him, he never breaks his promises. He never skips his meals, he stayed smiles, he never cries, and lastly, he has no regrets. He was happy that Il Hwa finally managed to rest in peace and he was glad that both of them managed to spend their time together.

He will cherish all those moments and lastly,

He will never forget her and will always love her.

Jaeho just got off from work. As he was stretching out his body after sitting too long in the office, the skies were beautiful and he was staring at it for a while. Suddenly, he remembered the day when Il Hwa wanted to watch the sunset together with him. He remembered how happy she was at that time. He took out his phone and look at the photo. He was alone in the photo, but he will never forget that Il Hwa was actually smiling, standing next to him.

*I missed you, and thank you so much for everything my angel*

-THE END-
